He has already been released once and barely tore up the division and no offence but 14 starts in a poor team doesn't overfill me with confidence.
As others have said hopefully lazy journalism.

He is so lightweight he makes Tom Conlon look like Akinfenwa.
We'll have Durrell instead pretty please ?
Injured most the season.

I suspect you'll get Durrell as well anyway.

Charlie Raglan confirmed on a full time basis following his release by Oxford.

Delighted with this signing, he was brilliant for us in the second half of the season and knows the squad already.

FAO Walsall fans, what's happening with Laird and Osbourne? Are you likely to keep either? Wouldn't mind Ossie back if you're not.

We're continuing to make signings. Two today to bring our summer total to three

Jon Mellish from Gateshead. A defender who won the National League young player of the year.

Christie Elliot from Partick. A 27 year old right back.

Also, sub keeper Louis Gray has signed the extended contract offered to him. He's yet to actually play for us despite spending the best part of a season and a half with us but he's young and so the fact the management are putting this faith in him makes me hope that we'll have a seasoned keeper with a young keeper pushing him all the way like we did in the past, instead of previous seasons where we've either had a journeyman on the bench just there in case, or no contracted keepers at all.

just announced that Francois Zoko is leaving us. Sad it had to end with this season as he was great in previous years.

Chris, have you heard anything about Reuben Reid to Cheltenham? Apparently it was almost a goer in January.

Just going through released lists from L1&2 to see if there's any surprises.

Not that we're in the market for a keeper, but Swindon have released Vigoroux. Thought he was one of the more capable keepers in this division and a big opportunity for anyone lacking in that department.

From what I've heard there could definitely be something in that I would say.

He's under contract for next season but will be made available afaik, wants to stay local. Would be a decent replacement for Barnett I imagine.

As long as we don't go for him. Last thing we need is the potential for even more comedy howlers. We make enough as it is.

I see Rhys Browne has left Yeovil. I can see him ending up at Port Vale with Askey- he was class in his loan spell here 2 seasons back. Scored at Wembley too.

I'm sad to see him go, was inconsistent but that's common with most lower league players. Very useful to have though, he filled in well at RB several times.

Technically I guess not released as we did offer him a new contract which he rejected. He's a bit of a loose cannon behaviour wise but is a pretty capable lower league keeper. I expect that he'll end up in league 1.

Great signing for L2, won't come cheap though - I guess you have a decent budget next season?

Just the usual top 7 budget I think. We've offloaded a lot of L1 players recently Crooks, Van Veen etc to put us in a position to actually sign players again.

Northampton under Curle seem to be going exactly how we did under him.

First season, comes in when in trouble. Football is shite but it’s all steadying the ship, and about “players understanding their roles and responsibilities” and needing “players that want to be on the bus” and banging home that “there’s still a lot more to come from some of these players”, “and again....”

End of the season comes... players released, a number of under contract players have no doubt been “made available for transfer”.
Some impressive signings come in, some proven at this level, what you need for this league etc....

That’s where you’re at.

This is what’s to come...

Start the season with a new brand of attacking football, playing out from the back, good players so much better to watch than last season, probably see 3-5-2 a bit and you’ll probably see what he calls “the midfield box” in certain away games. it’s all great. Then winter will come and it will change to direct route 1 long ball due to the pitches of league 2 “not being conducive to free flowing attacking football”, but you won’t mind because results will still come and players are still “emptying the tank”. January comes and some of the “made available” will leave. You’ll go on till the end of the season and you’ll see a bit of progress but there’s “still loads more to come from the group”.

To be continued...

I'd drive Osbourne down to you. He's been languid and lazy for the most part since he's returned and will probably be released in a few days when our retain list comes out.

As much as we love Laird he didn't play much or pull up any trees in this spell with us. Only impressed in the last 2 games of the season but with a new manager I'm not sure whether we will go back in for him to get him permanently even though we do need a left back.

Bevis Mugabi and Alex Fisher have left Yeovil. Wonder if we will go in for either of them. Mugabi seems to be well liked and Fisher would be a solid signing.

While I’m expecting him to go, would be surprised if it was to Ipswich.
They are exactly the kind of club I would expect him sign for to be honest. He is from the south originally and would be closer to home, they could easily outbid us for wages, and there is a strong possibility they will be back in the Championship soon.

As they are currently a League One club, he also would not be under the same pressure as if he went direct to a club in the second tier.

I get the impression Ipswich aren’t in a good position and like Sunderland this season, no guarantee they’ll go straight back up. If other clubs are offering him similar money, might be a safer bet opting for one of those.

Assuming that Northampton are a big club for this level and are in a financially good position (new owners right since that guy who stole money off the council?) He might have a competitive budget for the first time in ages, so things may go better for him. Never had a top-half budget with us while Notts were in higher league so would have needed more money to be considered competitive.
