He's 32, 33 next season. As much as he's a good striker i dont think anyone but league 2 and maybe bottom end of league 1 would go for him.

There’s no doubting this is his level but he’s coming off the back of a season where he was one of the league’s leading scorers and that comes at a premium I can’t see us paying, where as plenty other clubs will. Only thing that could go in our favour is being his former club and in the North West. Otherwise, I suspect he’ll have a choice of L2 clubs and a bigger choice from last summer where he was off the back of a couple of barren years.

Alex Whitmore and Reece Hall-Johnson rumoured to have left. Whitmore not overly fussed about if true, but RHJ was one most of us were hoping to hang onto.

Rumour that David Jones (ex-Wolves, PNE most recently at the Wendies) is coming in. Not bowled over by that as it seems all too familar to the Welsh signing - aging CM who has hardly played this season and would command a wage.

Linked with Ryan Lloyd.. our former youth product who spent years with us but nearly all of his pro time out on loan! Not great!

Why would we be interested in Atangana, we haven’t even got a manager.

We’ve been named in the Gloucestershire echo as the team chasing Atangana...Would be ok with that.

hopefully just lazy speculation, otherwise project Shanahan will be failing already
There's a half decent player on Lloyd I reckon, just needs to get back to full fitness. Work rate is excellent, fills a few different positions and got a good left foot on him.

What is Reece Hall-Johnson like? Rumoured to be on his way to us. Is he a right back?

He has already been released once and barely tore up the division and no offence but 14 starts in a poor team doesn't overfill me with confidence.
As others have said hopefully lazy journalism.

He is so lightweight he makes Tom Conlon look like Akinfenwa.
We'll have Durrell instead pretty please ?

Also been mentioned on The Fishy that. He's a good player to have at this level. Not amazing but does his job well. Probably a squad player at a promotion chasing side but easily good enough to hold down a starting place in a side with a mid-table/staying up remit. Strong and fast, can play at RB, RWB and in a three at CB. Wouldn't be surprised if he's leaving of his own accord and has an offer on the table as I suspect we wanted to keep him. Decent signing for anyone in the division and I wish him more luck if he's Cambridge bound than somewhere like Scunny or Salford.

Swindon after Theo Robinson on a permanent deal and I cannot see us standing in the way at all.

Source?

I'd be happy with Theo coming in. Works hard, finishing a tad erratic but I think would get at least 10 goals in league 2. Seemed to enjoy his loan spell.

Our local reporter.

He seems a popular lad in the dressing room. He is on a fairly decent wage I understand with us and with three strikers ahead of him now makes sense to try get rid. He is under contract with us for another year but I'd assume we won't be asking for a fee.

Got 7 in 16 with us. I’d expect nearer a Reg 20!

Well so far the ‘exagent’ has linked Mansfield to Danny Hylton and Alex Lacovitti.

Bruno Andrade is being tracked by Villa and Portsmouth. Ellis Chapman by Derby, Wigan and Southampton.

The info in that Echo article has clearly been leaked by the club to try and create a bidding war.

From that description, he might be a useful signing for us. Follows in the reasonable-but-no-world beater footsteps of Simon Ramsden, Joe Widdowson and J L Akpa-Akpro on the Grimsdale Trail... :)

He's not the greatest footballer we've had, but he's a feisty little fu(ker, who will go in for anything, and sounds like a genuine decent bloke who just wants to be further down south

Widdowson must have been one of those who improves after leaving us as I always felt he was hopeless! Liked Rambo though, he was a decent player. RHJ is probably a bit more dynamic than him, but not quite as solid.

Rangers appear to be leading the race to sign George Edmundson. Preston, Burnley and Sunderland are among the others who have shown interest.

I'm expecting a fee in the £450k-750k range, but with an ex-agent as owner, it will be interesting to see if he can drive the price up.
