Many Colchester fans on here? We've been linked with Szmodics on various occasions other the last few months and some chap on Twitter is saying we've agreed a deal with him. I'm not keen on it, I'd rather us sign Kasey Palmer, but he seems to have a decent record for you if a little inconsistent?

Deffo got the potential going off what I've seen, which is limited admittedly. Not sure he's ready for Championship yet though. Google some Colchester goals from this season and you'll soon see what he's about.

Seen bits of him mate, looks a player. Always developed into a decent attacking midfielder on FM as well

Were interested in Jak Mcourt, recently released by Swindon. Any good Swindon fans?

Seems to be highly rated by Mansfield fans as I've heard a few mention him at different times which doesn't usually happen.

Wasn't he relegated at Chesterfield before? I think he had an okay reputation but not fantastic. Once scored from really far out.

According to the Hartlepool Mail, we're one of a few teams interested in signing Liam Noble.

Not really been following his progress since he dropped a division but I imagine he's the same Liam Noble we released a few years back. Scored 13 goals from midfield which isn't bad but he might be their penalty taker as I think he was near the top of the list for penalty takers when we last had him.

Reading on though, I doubt there's anything in it. Hartlepool are yet to offer him a new contract but you expect they would do for their captain and top goalscorer, Noble wants to stay in Hartlepool and there's been no talk of him in our local papers. The other interested clubs are the likes of South Shields and York City.

Jesus fucking christ :ffs:

I've just about come to terms with the likelihood that we'll be looking for a new manager in September to try and get us out of the relegation battle that Pressley will put us in.

Now when I see us linked with Liam Noble, it's literally going to be a repeat of the 13/14 season.:gmc:

Personally I’d offer Noble a new deal at Pools, money might be the issue though, I like him, he’s a narky chewy get, that journo who linked him to Carlisle generally talks shite so I don’t think there’s anything in this, I mean really, as if he’d drop down to South Shields in the jumpers for goalposts league.

Durrell would be a good signing for someone in this league. I can't imagine him wanting to stick around here with our current financial situation. Plus it doesn't look like he gets on with Sol as well as he did with Askey. Would be a bit galling to lose our best player on a free to a league rival but who could blame him....

If someone wants to take a chance on any of our other players then I can recommend Pearson, Jules and Cameron too.

Nobody else has picked up on this alleged story so I'd say there's nothing in it.

Probably for the best, the amount of players we sign on multiple occasions is ridiculous, one day soon I'm sure we'll field a squad made up entirely of players on their second or third spells with us.

Yeah Pressley seems to set on targeting young players and even Holdsworth mentioned it in his interview.

Noble is 28. Cant see it happening, but like you say our club seems to be obsessed with signing ex players.

I wonder if it's just that it's an easier sell to former players who have come to understand that playing in Carlisle doesn't mean you have to travel the last half of the journey by dogsled and sign up to man the castle walls and look out for white-walkers as part of your contract.

Hearing rumours that Crawley Town are after Aldershot’s Josh Lelan as a replacement for Josh Lelan who they sold to Aldershot last Summer.

Brad Halliday to Tranmere, purely on the basis he has retweeted a Tranmere Rovers tweet.

Us and Swindon linked to Matty Longstaff, 19 year old defensive mid at Newcastle.
Other than that we’ve had some non league lads on trial, the winger who left Yeovil in January who’s name I can’t remember played in the reserves a few weeks back so he’s another possible.
