We have just signed Alan McCormack after he left Luton, our seventh signing of the summer already (we needed bodies after a serious summer clearout!).

Experienced pro who will sit in front of the defence, very happy with that, needed one for years!

Curle is going for proven winners at this level, Joe Martin, Chris Lines, Adams and McCormack. With signings like this I would expect to be fighting for promotion this season.

and what a player you have just signed in McCormack
As a Luton fan i'm still gutted we let him leave.
I still feel he could do the job at Championship level.

These are the sorts of reports I like to hear when we take someone on! Better than the usual 'hes bollocks'.

McCormack is a great signing for Northampton. When he is fit he is such a great experienced presence to have in midfield, does the simple things and controls the game.

Can’t rely on him to play week in week out though, but a great player to have around the place. Played a big part in the last 2 seasons successes despite playing only around 35 games over those 2 seasons. Hope he does well.

Northampton are shaping a good looking squad early doors. Quite impressive how quickly they're getting good players nailed down.

Twitter reckons he’s chosen us over yourselves.

If you believe in Twitter, of course.
I'd imagine you'd be paying more. Surprised we were in for him in the first place. Not gonna lie about it though, I'd have had him here in a heartbeat.

Wow Adams and McCormack in one day. Northampton definitely not gonna be topping the sustainability table this season then.

Usually means big wages being handed out, speaking from experience after our summer under Steve Evans.

We definitely have a decent budget this season but we released a ton of our big earners over the last 6 months. Left with the few we wanted (Pierre, Turnbull). Outside of that we have 5 or 6 lads that have come through the academy who will be on a lot lower wages.

No residual value either due to their age.

Shit or bust springs to mind.

Kyle Knoyle signs for Cambridge. I wish him luck, one of few bright spots of the last couple of seasons. I would have been very happy to see him stay, but clearly he has dreams of punting down the river Cam with Max Rushden.

Can’t see how it’s a step up, though. Being available and no club higher up the food chain being interested is telling.
