Signed Ryan Watson from MK Dons on a 2 year deal. Looked quite good when he was here on loan under Wilder so happy with that.

Why are you paying him actual, real money each week?? He was atrocious for us - wouldn't have him with us down in the Conference even given our current dire situation.

Expect lots of dire long diagonal Hollywood balls that get closer to the linesman than any of your players.

Some of our fans who are "in the know" have been saying for a few weeks that we (Cambridge) are in talks to sign an old but very experienced attacking midfielder. Last week Max Rushden and Jamie Cureton have also tweeted about us making an exciting signing.

Wes Hoolahan is the popular guess among the fans so far. Mainly because he's available, knows Calderwood and Cureton, and fits into the "old but very experienced attacking midfielder" category.

Ryan Lloyd close to a return. Yay.
Absolutely staggering signing.
Yet to score a goal in the football league.
17 games in 5 years at Vale and we wondered why every season he was retained.
Not going to slag him off but just completely bemused and perplexed.

Can a Macc fan just post the regular title winning side so that we have a clue who is coming next .

That would be very good news for us. At least its the Sentinel reporting it not just Unofficial Vale so can give it some credibility. I know people have mentioned his injuries last year but looking at his career its not as though hes been massively injury prone before so thats not a huge concern to me.

Take your pick from:

Shwan Jalal,
Jared Hodgkiss, Keith Lowe, George Pilkington, David Fitzpatrick
Elliott Durrell, Scott Burgess, Danny Whitehead, Danny Whitaker, Ryan Lloyd
Scott Wilson

In all seriousness, Askey wanted Lloyd apparently at Shrewsbury in League One before he got injured. He tries hard and Askey obviously sees something in him. Plays better in a midfield 3 imo on the left centre of midfield. As a winger, he's no good.

Salford being very stringent again with their wage expenditure I see.

to be fair to the player, the training regime was suspect and the lack of physio options didn't help. It should be more professional in the "new era"

and the lack of pre season he got.

I hope we've finally got a physio, that was a shambles last season having the club doctor run on the pitch but needing the opponents physio to go with him to meet EFL rules!

Strangely enough Jalal has been mooted as our new back up keeper.
Which considering he's under contract at Chesterfield is a strange shout

We’re after Andy Cook now as well as Tranmere apparently.
So the choice is a team on the up in League 1 or a team stagnating in League 2.
I wonder which one he’ll pick?

I don't get why people are taking this one seriously? No chance will he come back here. The Matt Green rumour on the other hand, could be a goer.

Edit: Radio Humberside have confirmed we're after him apparently. John Tondeur confirms we're after Devitt too. I reckon this is just a bit of sloppy reporting really. The Tondeur Tweets are followed up by "finances and interest from other clubs may be a big stumbling block". No shit mate, we're in Neymar as well but the wages could once again prove to be a problem there.

Looks like Devitt is on his way from Carlisle. Hopefully landing in Wiltshire - maybe Cobblers, though.

Nicky Adams has announced he's leaving Bury. Salford bound?
I reckon he'll get a L1 club. He's only really leaving because of the circus that is Bury. Every time I've heard him speak this season he seemed fully committed to the club and settled. Had a great season from what I've seen, his crossing stats in terms of successful/attempted balls into the box were off the chart at various points earlier on in the season. If I was Micky Mellon, I'd be getting straight on the phone.

Someone on our forum reckons us, Lincoln and Hibs have already offered him deals.

Taylor has said we’re expecting to have a couple of signings sorted by mid next week with a ‘keeper being his main focus. No names though.

He also said we were very close to signing a striker last week but lost out to a National League club, which shows the money that’s in that league but may also be down to location. The assumption is that it’s Paul McCallum who went to Solihull. Fucking Solihull.

Cowley rates Devitt and has tried to sign him here before so it's plausible, but there's been no mention of his name at this end.

Yeah, I don't know how reliable the poster on The Fishy is but I think he lives up in Cumbria...as if that adds any weight really.
