He was quite good for Cambridge tbf.
They liked him but he still had a really poor scoring record. He is probably a dream to play with if you’re a poacher type striker as Simpson makes such a nuisance of himself he will create opportunities for them but you need to offer more than that as a forward.

It’s a really odd one with Robbie, in his first spell with us (12/13 years ago now) he scored 17 goals in half a season to keep us up. Thought he’d go on to be a consistent 20 goal a season FL striker but just hasn’t happened for him. That said, I’d have him back here

Strange rumour imo, on around £5k a week here and lives up in the north west. I don’t see how you’d be able to tempt him, but I could be totally wrong.
You pay up his contract, or continue to pay part of his salary. I doubt we’d pay more than half of what he gets with you.

Sorry to be a pedant but had to check that as couldn’t imagine Simpson scoring 17 in half a season....In 12/13 he was at Oldham. Soccerbase, which is usually bang on, says he scored 9 goals in his first season for you and only 13 in total over 2 seasons?

Is weird but I get why Wellens would want him. Doyle was on fire under him at Oldham. Paul Jewell is our director of football so maybe has someone at Bradford who he could tempt into some sort of deal where we're not paying over the odds.

Or maybe it's been bollocks along. We do need a minimum of 2 forwards this window though.

We've received a 'six figure' bid for Christian Doidge from an unnamed SPL club, apparently.

No it was in 2006/07 - which is now 12 years ago. I checked my facts, it was 17 in the whole season, 15 of those were after Christmas

Could see Doyle coming back to us if he leaves Bradford

Really? Location is perfect for him, but can you afford him?

That is gonna be the stumbling block for most clubs who have interests in him.

If James Vaughan does come in, could we afford him Donaldson AND Doyle? If so that would be some front three but realistically not going to happen which would open the door to others.

I don’t see the point in moving Doyle on, improving a rival team and paying half his wages still. He’s decent so better of keeping him

As mentioned, I believe we have far more money than what GB and Rupp are letting on.

It doesn’t come as a surprise to me; I’ve always stated that Rupp has backed us - but there’s still plenty of fans who think he doesn’t put any money in. Baffling.

Either way, JV/ED/CD would be on what, a combined £12.5-15k p/w? Which regardless of how much Rupp is funding, is a hell of a lot for L2.

Similar to what Mansfield for example were paying Tyler Walker, Jorge Grant for example at around 4-5k a week allegedly.

Nicky Maynard strongly linked with us. Ryan Lowe is also trying to persuade Danny Mayor to come down. Jamie Devitt linked aswell.

If Maynard signs and stays fit that's a guaranteed 20 goals so would be very pleased if he signed. One thing is for certain, we definitely need players.

Well you’ve made up the Grant one but yeah it was heavily rumoured we were paying Walker up to 4K p/w - worth it to be fair, turned out he was a top player at this level.

All things considered, we were paying £10k+ per week for Jack Payne last season.

Apparently we are in for Danny mayor, be very surprised if it comes off but it's from a decent source

I'd hope that we are too considering we haven't had a proper left winger at the club for the last three years.

Danny is not a proper left winger but is one hell of a player. More attacking l/m with a tendency to cut in or plat as a drifter from centre to left. Would suit Bratfurt down to the ground.

Jermaine Anderson signs a new one year deal. He was utter crap last year so expect him to be a squad player at best.
