The Eoin Doyle to Swindon rumours are weird, very settled in the north west and was only open to loans in the area after his spell at Pompey.

Not sure why Bradford would let him leave to another side in this division.

Want him off the payroll I suppose - but I can’t see us offering him anywhere near what he’s on at Bradford.

Doyles on good money here, under our previous stewardship of Edin Rahic we over spent on a budget by 1m+ so I was surprised to see the Swindon link.

I sort of hope we push the budget out this season, no disrespect to anybody in this league as I know full well how competitive it is but I don't want to bere here long - our last spell was far too long. I think we learnt from our last spell that a bunch of commited and hard working group of lads goes further than having 1 or 2 with lots of ability and a team that can't be arsed.

Our pre season will be crucial, especially with the turnover of playing staff.

Creepy have signed Nathan Ferguson on a staggering 3 year deal from Dulwich.

Played about 2 games for us and we dumped him as apparently he had awful attitude.
Can't comment on his ability as think his appearances were in the Checkatrade

Cheltenham have signed Tahvon Campbell after his release from FGR:

https://www.ctfc.com/news/2019/june/cheltenham-town-bring-in-tahvon-campbell/

Thoughts Chris FGR , Greenacres , et al? I get the impression he was quite hard done by when Doidge came back.

Pretty much nailed it, the Doidge situation was unlucky timing for Tav just as he was establishing himself in the team and looking good. Pacy and direct, decent shot on him and likes to take defenders on. Not good in the air though, despite being quite tall. Still a bit raw but capable of being a dangerous striker at this level and I reckon we'll regret letting him go.

Apparently we’ve accepted bids of 500k from Sunderland and Portsmouth for Freddie Ladapo.

Decent bit of business as he’s fairly overrated imo.

His 3rd spell with us. Was very average when we last had him 4 years ago, I didn't mind him - He was one of the few players who did seem to give a shit when we went down.

Hoping being more local to his family and friends can improve his performances, we tried to get him in January but as I said earlier I don't think he fancied Non League...............

I don’t think he’s a bad player to have around the squad at this level.

For the sake of fan unrest, shifting him ASAP was in everyone’s best interest.

He’ll play like a man possessed against us next season.

Didn’t Sunderland off over £1m in Jan?

Local lad Clayton Donaldson comes home, happy with this we need a target man. 5-10 years ago he used to torment us, never thought I'd see him in claret and amber.

Very impressed with our business so far, 35 but he's never been full of place just a clever player. Top notch signing.

Clayton Donaldson, pleased with that.

It seems great business is being done by Bowyer so far.

Think he'll be a perfect foil for Doyle, if we keep him.

Think he might score a few with with Clayton up there with him, Doyle did nothing last season but wasn't helped. Josh Wright out and Henley and Donaldson in. One of our best days in the transfer market in memory ha ha.

Weird that, he didn't give a shit at all when we sent down last year.

Donaldson and Doyle is a more than a decent front two for this division, a big unit is exactly what Doyle needs, very happy with this.

Josh Wright going too, what a day to be alive!

Know nothing about him but we seem to be giving everyone a three year deal at the moment. I think it's a way of attracting players who would otherwise go somewhere else....or stay part time.

Some good signings. I would say some are a bit of a risk. Clayton Donaldson would have been amazing 3 or 4 years ago but surely his legs have gone. There are a couple of others, I. E. The ones from non league/Scotland which could go either way, and the lad that has come back from the States seems injury prone. You've got a good manager, so I still see you as one of the autos but seems like some of these signings are a potential risk and quite hasty before the end of June . Hornby will be your number one though, cracking keeper.

We've just signed meh so far. I'm hoping that we're saving our budget for 2 quality front players as our defence and midfield are almost there.

I hear what you’re saying regarding CD, but he’s far from injury prone (if that’s what you’re implying?) - which is what you would usually expect from a player of his age.

I recall when we signed Gary Jones at the tender age of 36 and thinking the same, but he was absolutely phenomenal for the club.

He will be perfect foil for Eoin Doyle next season.

The non-league player (French) is a squad player, but again, he’s very highly rated and sought after - along with the new LB from Scotland. There’s every chance Henley could start at LB.

Henley seems to be a player who has just found football in the US difficult adapting too. I honestly know nothing about him and his injuries. I always just presumed he’s been a squad player wherever he has been - but at this level, he should be a decent addition. I can’t see him starting in front of Kelvin Mellor, but we’ll just have to see.

The squad is beginning to take some shape, and I’m confident that our defence is already stronger than last season.

Quietly confident, but next season will be very, very competitive.
