I was just thinking not but two or three hours ago that it had all gone quiet on the Cullen front. Bradford were rumoured to be interested but that was a while ago and his track record at this level is enough that he couldn't be without offers.

Twitter rumours it’s Cullen, if so be happy with that!

We’ve signed Zak Mills - a RB - from Morecambe.

No idea whether he’s any good or not.

Every player who wins all the awards leaves in the summer, it's how it works here. He'll do well for you. His defending is usually last ditch and he got caught out a few times, but not often. Miles better going forward, best right back we've had for a while, can do a job in midfield aswell. Another one I didn't want to leave.

I feel for Morecambe and Bentley.

I saw Aaron Collins’ interview with Forest Green and he said something like “I did well at Morecambe and thankfully it’s got me my move”....

I thought that was a a bit disrespectful considering he was forgotten about before Morecambe signed him.

Morecambe bubble burst? Good because we need two worse teams than us as it currently stands.

Surprising that as he wasn't great going forward for us but pretty solid defensi:cool1:vely. I still think Jolley got rid of him too easily.

FGR fans, is Lewis Ward any good? You had him on loan for the end of last season. Rumour is he's joining us today.

Andy Cook confirmed for a undisclosed fee.

I have always been unsure on him, well I was when he played for Grimsby/Tranmere but scoring a decent amount of L1 goals for a relegated side is impressive, and we seriously lacked a physical/aerial presence last season too so this makes sense.

I think that’s what he’ll be there for, we’ve really struggle with that aspect upfront of late

I rated him here and I was disappointed when we released him.
Always gives 100% and leaves nothing in the changing room.
Good signing IMO.

Well, that’s Walsall chances of promotion down the swannie!

Goal aspect is most important, and looking at his record you would hope he's a 20+ man at this level.

Wonder what fee will be chucked around, it's going to be a decent amount I imagine.

I wonder what will happen to Danny Rose. Not effective as a target man compared to Davies and Cook will no doubt be first choice if we've paid any money for him. Could mean Rose either moves on or has to play a different striking role.

Hopefully he moves on - simply not good enough last season and he had plenty of chances.

He hasn't improved in his time with us. If anything, he has gone backwards. That said, he could form a good partnership with someone if he isn't expected to be the primary holder upper of the ball.

I thought the opposite whilst he was with us, lazy and uninterested.

Obviously went on and scored goals though, and can't argue with his record last season for a relegated side.

Cook is an excellent signing and I am disappointed he is not coming back here. He will definitely have had offers from League One clubs. Mansfield obviously still splashing the cash......

Zak Mills is decent at this level, when we had Danny Andrew absolutely bombing it down the left side a few years back, Mills on the opposite side looked like a cheaper, diet version of him. There are better full backs in the league but also much, much worse.

Cook is a great signing for any side in this league and he will guarantee goals if he is a frequent starter. For a big lad he is very good with the ball at his feet and he scores all types of goals, well he at least did 5 years ago. Would have loved him back here but we were never going to compete for somebody like him sadly, though I think players like Green and Hanson can do a similar, if lesser job.

Lewis Ward (GK) signs from Reading.

Fuck me, that's a top quality signing , would have loved him back on loan, never thought he'd be back in league 2 though let alone on a permanent deal. How have you managed that?
