I think it’s pretty clear that it’s going to be a battle between us and Macclesfield to finish rock bottom.

Think they look slightly stronger at the moment, but a few loan signings could make a difference for us.
Oldham? Have lost some good players, and not convinced they will replace them with the same quality. Hope not, their fans deserve better, but their redefinition of "manager of the month" last season doesn't bode well...

What’s the point in dragging this out?

She wants a kick in the hole.

I think he was probably scheduled for a earlier flight but for whatever reason it didn’t happen and they not put It on the official OS without the standard handshake picture.

We've announced Kevin Dawson, which has been rumoured for a while, on a 1 year deal. Adds some much needed experience. Decent signing.

Intrigued to see how many games you get out of him.

I won't lie, the last couple of months of the season he was our most consistent player and I was disappointed when I heard he'd turned down a new deal. However, that last couple of months was by far the best we saw of him in his two seasons at the club, the majority of which he was injured for.

Be interesting to see where he fits in as well - I thought him best as a CAM, but he spent most of his time out wide. He won't let you down for commitment, but his injury record will be a concern.

He's not irreplaceable (no-one at this level is, apart from Bingham, though we're hoping Tav is the new Rakish) but our midfield is shockingly short on numbers at the moment. The Sam Foley rumour won't go away, but that's purely because he was a youth player here. Duffo's got a lot of work to do.

Probably wants another photoshoot on the beach so all the creeps can make comments again...

A few trialists are with us. Miles Storey the only one I've heard of.

Elliot Reeves, Michael Chambers and Tyrone Duffus are the others, the former two from non-league clubs, and Duffus a young player released by Cardiff.

More disappointment for Carlisle in the transfer market as Nathan Thomas has gone to Gillingham on a season-long loan instead (apologies if HG has already mentioned this, I haven't yet received his daily newsletter)

I didn’t because I don’t have a gillingham source unfortunately.

Although I did know that he wouldn’t be coming back here, simply because Holdsworth said or hinted that he would be, and by now I know that anything that comes out of Holdsworth’s mouth is bull shit.

To be fair in regards to your depressive lack of optimism any club that employs David Holdsworth is in trouble.

He’s not the best footballing brain out there, being polite.

Now Linked with Portsmouths Louis Dennis - A winger/striker, did well at Bromley but has rarely featured for Pompey who are apparently looking to offload him and bring in another player.

This is a genuine question because I don't know, but Mayor's obviously a good player but was he made better by having O'Shea next to him, for example?
They probably helped each other be better players. Danny suited the CM role rather than being on the wing. Although it also helped having a very attacking full back.
I didn't see as much Bury as I would have liked last season, but off what I saw Mayor could have an off day and it wasn't ever really a massive issue because of the likes of O'Shea pulling the strings and/or Maynard sticking a big chance or two away and/or Adams whipping a quality ball into the box. So not just O'Shea, but more of a case of one or two those four big hitters carrying the other two or three when needed. Dunno if that is a fair/accurate take, but that is how it seemed to me.

Kevin Dawson is a good signing for FGR, provided he can stay fit. One of those who won't always stand out but always gives his all and rarely has a poor game.

Chris Clements and Conor Thomas are now our only recognised CMs, and neither particularly set the world alight last season. Couple more additions needed for us in that area.
