We’ve gone back in with a new improved offer for Jake Taylor which has been confirmed by Askey which should dispel the conspiracy theories after he missed yesterday with an injury with fans convinced it was Alex Jones all over again.

Hopefully get closer to their valuation and get this one done.

Saw a twitter rumour linking us with a Man City youngster Felix Nmecha

Is that ex agent account on twitter at all reliable? He's claiming we are trying to hijack that deal

Every time he’s faced us be it for Crawley or Lincoln he’s looked dire! That said seems to have an ok record overall.

We’re desperately short upfront, and he appears to be in the Donaldson mould, who of course, is also out injured at the minute.

Not sure he has a brother there too who is at Wolfsburg on loan?

You're that seems to be the one that was at Preston then. Both youth internationals apparently , but strangely for different countries, one England and one Germany

Heard we're trying to sign goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux.

Also James Alabi is likely to join Boreham Wood apparently.

Wow! I think Mr Vigoroux thought he could have got a club in the Championship/League 1 when he left us. On his day he is a top class keeper, good handling, good shot stopping, able to play with the ball at his feet etc.

However he also has the ability to behave like a total bell end, which is probably why bigger clubs haven't been after him.

Salford are after John Akinde again from us. Nearly happened in the summer but Cowley couldn't get another striker in. Also interesting a couple of southern L2 Clubs closer to home.

Could be us. Someone who’s often ITK on our forum says Lowey wants two strikers who’ve both got good goal scoring records.. I was thinking Maynard and Akinde.

Why would you let him go though, thought he was doing well for you?

Did well for us last season and was what we needed at the time but he's technically well, well short of L1 football, which has been even more exposed with Appleton's approach.

This season we've got Walker as well who's doing the business when we actually give him any service. Top end of the pitch needs a tweaking a bit.

Bigger jump than NL to L2 IMO. Pretty much everyone are 'footballing' sides - it certainly seems the in thing at L1 to be easy on the eye but not score too many as shown by the GF columns in the league.

It's the top end of the pitch more than anything. The quickness of play, speed of thought, speed of player, technical attributes are completely different to L2 level (that I've found anyway). Less strength and power, more technicaly and speed, which is why Walker scores goals at this level and Akinde doesn't (not that he's play too much).

We don't feel a million miles off being nicely settled into mid-table but it depends on our January recruitment. We're also heavily lopsided with our fixtures having only played 8 or 9 home league games with an excellent home record and the opposite away.

I’ve been surprised going the other way at the lack of quality in L2 this season, how poorly we play yet don’t often get punished and find ourselves near the top by virtue of being slightly less bad than the other team most weeks. I don’t remember it being this bad pre 2013 when we were last down here.

Heard a few rumors that Stoke are watching Ryan Wintle. I'd be gutted at that, not only because of him joining them, but also he's probably the most irreplaceable of our current assets.

According to BladesAnalytics on Twitter, he was very good last season. Almost Paul Pogba-esque in the highlight reel I watched also. No pressure lad!
But whose position does he take? Josh grant/Edwards in the holding role?

Given how important he is and how he's played this season, I'd want nothing short of Westwood money for him. A low 7 figure sum for sure, they could afford it easily.

Josh Grant is going back to Chelsea. Wants a club closer to home unfortunately.
That was precisely my fear. After a pretty poor start he has found his feet, and fills two positions for us. We are looking a bit light at CB now.

I'd like to think we could be one of the southern clubs interested. Ibehre is old and currently injured so we're missing a big man in the forward areas, would probably have to be a loan though. Marc Richards and Elliott Ward's contracts are up in the next month, plus there is a rumour Gary Deegan will leave after being out the whole season with blood poisoning so money could be getting freed up.

Think our tansfer window movements will be largely (entirely) unidirectional, and good luck to any of them who get away from us. The two Theos were great earlier this season but have been missing for months due to "injury"; one is destined for Peterborough apparently.

Sol Campbell reportedly (from the mail) going to "raid" our players. Not sure that would help him too much, but from the players' point of view it ensures they're still in L2 next season.

Been reported by Wolves that we're close to bringing in 19 year old midfielder Elliot Watt on loan. Hopefully he'll provide a bit of spark to our midfield.

Don't think this is the player we're '99.9 yards down a 100 yard road' towards signing as that player has been training with us and the Wolves source doesn't mention Watt training with us, so that could be two players signed when the window opens.
