We’ve signed former Swindon Keeper Lawrence Vigouroux on an 18 month deal.

Pleased with this - even if he is a bit of dick, because we need better players.

Dean Brill has struggled with injury this season and it’s been catching up with him at this level in his performances.
Good keeper when he's in the right mindframe. Reminded me of The Monk off Mean Machine a bit too often for my liking in the way he'd try and beat attackers and make bad decisions. Cost us a few too many goals however he does make some quality saves and can really win you points on his own when he's on it.

Some our fan base used to compare him with Wes Foderingham in terms of quality which was always a bit much for me. Fods was always far better. And of course Vigs seems to keep a self destruct button on his person at all times. Still though a very good keeper.

Morecambe have signed Toumani Diagouraga and Jordan Slew. To go alongside Lewis Alessandra. PAFC reject FC.

Jordan Slew wasn’t great for us, became a meh squad player in his season here. Toums was brilliant for the 3 months he was here. Left for Fleetwood, it didn’t work out, headed back down south for Swindon where he appears to have flopped big time.

If Derek can get the best out of him, like he did here, then he could drag them away from that bottom spot. If he’s the same player as Swindon got, or his legs have gone, then he’s a waste of money considering Morecambe’s shoe string budget.

Jordan Slew... there’s a blast from the past... lasted a few games at Vale after for no apparent reason kicking a Fleetwood player off the ball and costing us a game.

Was dreadful! Assumed he’d drifted away into non league!

Jordan Slew must have the best agent in the business.

Did nothing for us in his brief spell a couple of years ago. Alessandra was a bit better, but not outstandingly so. I'd play Kevin Ellison ahead of either...

For us he was a trier, and was willing to play out of position to help the team. Sounds like our experience of Slew was a bit more positive, but he was not an upper league 2 team player. At best the lower end, if not non-league standard.

When Toums signed for us, we were positive as he had been great for Plymouth and was dropping down a level. But he’s been such a disappointment. The Mobility of a tanker, slow, ponderous, poor decisions and rank stupid tackling. Anthony Grant has been the player and more that we hoped that Toums would have been.

To be fair, despite being out of the side for yonks, he’s never bad mouthed the club, moaned in the press and seemingly has been very professional. Hopefully he can show some of his past form at Morecambe.

Strange. I always liked Dave. Bit injury prone, for sure. Never really had a run of games for us.

I really really wanted him to be good. To be fair I only saw him 3 or 4 times but he was always terrible. Ironically at Crawley he was having a bit of a stormer but then got sent off for a brainless 2 footed lunge just after half time. That kind of summed his career at us up, calamitous.

Jevani Brown currently at Colchester to us on a loan. Looks like this one may be close to done. Only six months into a two year deal, presumably down the pecking order at Colchester?

He has more experience than our current crop, so suspect he would be a useful addition.

Hasn't fit into our system at all. Was signed to replace Szmodics but they're completely different types of player and he hasn't suited us yet. He's barely even been making the bench for a while now so might be better to cut our losses.

Better off asking the Cambridge fans, I reckon! They said he was a bit of a luxury player.

Szmodics was an all-action number ten, never stopped bombing around everywhere and getting involved whereas Brown seems to float about a bit more under the radar looking to pick out key passes, but without looking like he wants to get about too much. Compared to Szmodics he just comes off as a bit lazy and disinterested, but in the right team I can imagine he has a lot of quality.

Hardly seen much of him though. His stats from last season were excellent.

Sort of a poor man's Mesut Ozil then going by that description. We need some creativity, and our style of play might suit that type of player more.

Maybe if we had a more mobile centre forward to make the runs he's looking for it would help too, instead of Luke Norris.

Junior likely to break into your team at any time? He was class at Derry City.

What's he like?
decent, things obviously haven’t worked out for him at Colchester but on his day he’s a match winner, on the other hand if you want him to track back and maybe even make a tackle then he’s not for you, if you want some magic and let him do his own thing he’ll be a decent signing.

It would be nice to see him given another go, he's back in training now. Never quite looked up to league level last time and he's not that young either, but maybe a season of goalscoring will give him the confidence to make more of a go of it. Think his contract is up in the summer.

That should be ok, given our slow possession based/intricate passing style, we can and have often included a luxury player or two. As long as he produces in the final third, not tackling back wont be a problem.

We are apparently in talks with a striker who has a “ very good “ goal scoring record in L2. It would be a loan until the end of the season. If I had to guess, Id say John Akinde or Omar Bogle.

Slew is one of the worst strikers I’ve seen in a United shirt in the last 10 years. Shockingly bad.
For United read Vale too.
Truly shocking player, that incredibly once cost a million quid.
Sorry Morecambe fans but he is that bad he's not fit to lace AJ Leitch-Smiths boots.

Not sure Akinde is a Lowe type of player tbh.

Jevani needs to play in the hole/no.10 role to get the best out of him. Do FGR play that formation? If you play him on the wing or CM, forget it.

Poor attitude too. Like others have said, on his day he's a match winner but just doesn't happen often enough.

In kind of transfer news we have agreed, by mutual consent to release both Toumani Diagouraga and Jermaine McGlashen.

Both could possibly do a job for a lower half league 2 side. I was very disappointed in Toums particularly, looked well off being a league footballer whenever I saw him. Hope they get clubs in the window.

With them off the wage roll, means we hopefully have a bit more in the coffers to strengthen in January.
One of your fans has been on the fishy claiming that we are about to sign mcglashen

Artell saying the right things, if we get a bid of 3 million for any of our player they would be gone on a heartbeat, but if we get bids of 300,000 they won't even get a reply. I don't mind losing players if we're getting top dollar for them, and I genuinely believe a few of them are worth close to if not over 7 figures.

Don’t think he was that bad for us, just that we were looking for promotion and he was not good enough for that. He may be another player of which Adams gets the best out of him.
