McCourt is a Premier League player in natural ability but has nothing else at all. Fun to watch sometimes but a complete liability, basically.

Giving McCourt a two year deal is an absolutely absurd move.

Will have to wait and see on this one. Clearly has ability however the 'luxury' type have been given a rough ride in recent years. We did need a creative spark in the midfield though, so it's a box ticked.

Just look at the guy, you think he's suddenly going to turn over a new leaf of fitness and consistency!?!

I think we have enough midfield options to be able to carry a luxury player. On his day he's a match winner and if he can reproduce some sort of form then we have a cracking player on our hands. We've got great ability down both flanks now with Hall and McCourt and enough in reserve to change shape if it doesn't work (Drury Cam Doyle Smith Guttridge Robinson)

JS knows how to get the best out of players, lets hope he has struck gold here.

Almost definitely not. However we've invested a lot in our defense this summer, and with Doyle and Smith sitting in front of them we're going to be difficult to get past. So there be a place in the squad for someone who can do something different, even if he doesn't bring much else to the table.

He isn't even a luxury player, he's basically a novelty footballer. Just tries to dribble it into the goal every time he gets it and is breathing heavily after about twenty minutes. He's not been fit enough to be a professional footballer for nearly a decade, Still ain't gonna change that.

Admittedly we also had Ryan Hall last season and he was wank as well, but at least looked like he might be sober.

2 year deal for McCourt is mental. On signing he's a great player, unfortunately in the real world you have to turn up and play football every week and look arsed and be a team player and I'm not sure he can do any of that.

A quote from Gordon Strachan 2 months ago:

And Strachan revealed he has already let O'Neill know just how much he is concerned about his players being Paddy-whacked.

"I was speaking to Michael about him, and said Paddy is as gifted a footballer as I have ever seen," said Strachan.

"Some players can see a pass, but not dribble. Others can dribble, but not see a pass. Paddy can do both.

"And, I have got to say, watching Paddy is one of the best things in football."

Good of Luton to continue the Daggersa reunion. Not sure what to expect of Maggie these days, pretty sure he had a nasty injury at Col U, accompanied with poor form which is why he's back in L2.

Apparently he was in the car park of another club, about to sign, when the phone call came from John Still.

To be fair, it is, as long as it's not for a team whose results you remotely give a shit about. :D

Exeter fans thought we were gonna sign Okuonghae - maybe Luton offered more moolah.

Yeah we may well have, who knows. Judging by his interview the fact JS is the gaffer played a huge part - but of course we all know money talks

I think Burnett said we had a defender lined up and was gazumped at the last minute so perhaps Magnus was the one. Never particularly rated him but I was very much in a minority.

Reuben Reid to Orient mentioned on our forum, no idea of how credible that is.
The Plymouth striker? We need one more striker in his mould.

On paper it would send out a small message if it was true.

He gave us alot of grief last season when we played them in the Capital One Cup.

Does both mean 'can't see a pass and can't dribble'?

Yes the Plymouth striker. As I say, I know very little of how true it is or the origin, credibility etc. He's a good player who will cause teams trouble in League 2.

Or alternately you could make a separate thread for all the bullshit Luton rumours that get thrown about on here. The amount of likes his post got probably tells all about how fucking annoying it is, maybe we could have a daily quota of rumours for you or something. Kenneth is the main culprit here of course...

Will RavenBish apologise or will he pretend this never happened?

It was less about the rumour (throw enough shit at a wall etc...), more the tone of 'apparently x amount of players are signing tomorrow' every fucking day. I've got no Mod beef about clogging up threads or owt, it's just an irritant. Everyone else manages to understand how this thread works but I check up on it to see how other clubs are getting on and have to wade through a shit ton of clear bollocks posted most likely by some shitbasket on a tinpot Luton forum under the guise 'HatterzBoy' - everyone else manages to ignore this shite and the clearly fake Twitter rumour accounts. I therefore find it common decency more than anything else that he tries and does the same.

Kieffer Moore the ex Yeovil striker has started to follow an ECFC twitter handle so he's a nailed on signing for us.

He's a local lad so I wouldn't be surprised and I would be quite pleased too. He had a decent record in non league prior to his Yeovil move but I think he struggled to nail down a regular spot after. I guess he scored 4 or 5 goals in the Championship and he's still young. Makes a change from Clinton Morrison.

Underwhelming if true - 4 goals in 34 appearances last season is hardly a stunning return. League 1 aint much better than League 2 in fairness, I'd be surprised if he scores anywhere near as many as Super Tommy Nichols.

True but as far as I know he was utilised as a CB at times and he looks to have been used off the bench a fair bit.

To be fair, although a 25 goal a season striker would be nice, I'd be fine with Moore contributing 10-12 goals as there plenty of goals from elsewhere in the team.

He may just need a regular run of starts to find his feet. We will see.

Any Yeovil fans have an opinion on him?
