This Ball playing keeper was capped by England at u16,17,18,19,20......world youth cup winner
Brought up as a ball playing keeper....

Yeah, we've all had youth international goalkeepers playing for us. We didn't get promoted then either.

The problem with ball playing goalkeepers at this level is that their ball playing skills aren't good enough to make up for all the times they get caught out and make comedy errors. Ederson or Manuel Neuer they ain't.

Ollie Palmer has just announced he will not be taking up the contract offer from Crawley and will move on to new challenges (doesnt say where).

He came here to get regular football, improve and put himself in the shop window. Pretty much what everyone wants when they sign for us.

I wish him well in the future but we need a replacement as all our forwards are of the same type and when the going gets tough none of them will provide an out ball and hold up play.

Casey

AFC Wimbledon seems to be the suggested move.

in fairness you are correct.....Billy Crillen is on loan from Fleetwood and i think its a big gamble to have him as our number one

He would demand a 2 year deal on at least £4K per week. We would need to be compensated; lets says £300k. In total, he’d cost you over £700k before bonuses.

The more he is trying to manipulate a move the more I want rid. If he wants to go then he can fuck off - simple.

Someone on our forum has just mentioned Ollie Palmer’s name. We certainly don’t need anymore strikers unless one is on his way out. Vaughan perhaps?

Still grates on me now that Gary Johnson didn't instruct our players to press your keeper at the end of that first season you were in the league. There were loads of us literally screaming it from the stands to pressurise the keeper because of the mistakes he'd already made that season. That could be when I decided Johnson shouldn't remain at the club. He was gone 4 weeks into the new season.

Instead, we let him have all the time in the World, you win 1-0 and those points effectively kept you up.

3 weeks extra training and a World Cup winning keeper, Ian Evatt is a maverick! Sharp or not I can't see those CB's living with Alfie May and co.

We have signed Frank Vincent on loan. He played for Torquay on loan the last two years, no clue if he's any good.

I didn't mind Caprice when he was with us, very good going forward and made alot of goals, sadly he couldn't defend that well.

When we lost his wing partner James Dayton through injury his confidence fell apart as they'd built up a very good chemistry on our right wing, he then started making alot of errors and our fans started to get on his back and he was quickly sold because we'd brought in Sam Ling from Dagenham at the time anyway.

So the talk of Carlisle going part-time was presumably bollocks then?

We're being linked with Shay McCartan.

Thoughts Bradford and Lincoln fans?
Steady L2 player, decent knack of popping up with a goal and working hard but as mentioned a bit lightweight and caught in the middle of not being an out and out 10 or an out and out striker either.

???

May I remind you, we don’t have to sell! To replace him, how much do you think it will cost us?
I think it will all depend on how Vaughan behaves through this saga. We all know he wants to leave, but if he's a professional and isn't having a poor influence on the group, then we can play hard ball and demand a significant fee. The problem comes if he behaves like a twat and forces a move like Doyle did in January. Our position is then weakened significantly and I can see us having to do a poor deal just to get shut. As for replacing him, you're right in it would be a fee for a player somewhat in that 300k range as he will guarantee 15-20 goals at this level. Without Vaughan, our squad certainly looks a lot weaker that's for sure, given he's our only source of goals.

It’s been confirmed by our chief executive that we’ll be part time until October, Players will be on part time furlough so will be training part time until the furlough scheme ends. But the rumour had got out slightly wrong before that, hence the talk of us going part time for the whole season.

Good luck to the lad, hope he does well. Although he must have a cracking agent to secure a two year deal in the EFL.

Yeah it’s not a promising signing given the reports from Bradford fans, but maybe (hopefully) it will click for him here. You never know with young signings, like for example Nahki Wells was way off being a first team player for us, but then he went to you and something just clicked.

Absolutely. He probably needs a fresh start and not being a local lad from the academy should help him too. Always got away with poor performances for that reason here and maybe he needs a bit of pressure on his back.

Bolton signed another, Jack Hickman, former Coventry. Got booted from the academy after a video in Ibiza showed him up as a bit of a bell. I'll give him a chance but he'll be not much more than a back up wing back.

Got 1 more on the way this evening as well, word on twitter is its Delfouneso, which some fans are excited about, I think he's poor to be honest. 5 in 18 last time at this level, nothing special.

Bolton don’t mind the odd conference player or two, do they?
