I do and for once Masi51 is right - but i think he's got the info from either the TIFO/Athletic video's or quotes/interviews in the press.
Very much so ive watched the pods the Barrow matches on youtube.....its all about stats
We first watched it with big Sam...Guardiola brought it on and Evatt is just copying his blueprint.

What Evatt plays is not unique...Its the way Guardiola sets his teams up..Evatt is no football pioneer he has worked out a way of playing , copied it .And will make a good career managing that way. We now have a squad of just over 20 players.....one Doyle is over 30.
A ball playing goalkeeper is a must....Giant centre halves two rapid wingbacks.....three small midfielders who run and harass for the ball when out of possesion and are comfortable with the ball at there feet.
Watch Barrow listen to him talk.
Plenty evidence of how he plays on youtube.
The only bit wrong there is the Giant centre halves bit - it's more important for Evatt to have centre halves who can pass the ball well - although passing well and height is a bonus. one of the 3 midfield players needs to be able to pass the ball very well too;- it's likely only 2 of the 3 will be the harassing type.

That is where he changed slightly from your set up last season...We had two c/h Edwards and Delaney who is 6/5
He has since brought in three more... two are 6/6 and one 6/4.......They maybe our weakness next season
But they are not slow cumbersome c/h these lads are strong quick and powerful

I said in a earlier post the are only two ways of playing football......pass and move or the long ball
Evatt has both options covered

Evatt is a decent manager, but he's hardly Guardiola!

Anyway, he had Jason Taylor in defensive midfield for us, who has absolutely no pace whatsoever, and Rooney was our main man spraying passes around in the middle. Spearing's not a million miles from either of those and he'll have been just fine in Bolton's side. Tranmere clearly held a lot of appeal probably cos he lives locally.

He is not Guardiola, but he copies Guardiola....Most teams down in especially lge 1 and lge two play and recruit very alike.
Bolton have done this the last 10 years.Signing players for the hell of it no real thought in the players we recruited.
Managers who sign what i call noah Ark squads,Two goalies Two right backs two left backs etc etc.
The only change in the last 10 years is Zonal marking has been added....these managers are fucking clueless.
They lack new ideas. In any industry unless you change you stagnate and are left behind...Or cease to exist.
FV [Boltons Owners] realised this and have changed this clubs Mentality. We do not have a manager, it is a head coach [Evatt] who coaches a specific way. We have a Director of football who Recruits specific players [Tobias Phoenix]
We then have a advisor to the board [Peter Kenyon]
We are going down the Brentford moneyball route. We are signing good youngsters who can be coached in a certain way then moved on for profit. Each of our management team works in a specific area. Gone are the days of a manager doing it all themselves and when he gets sacked a new manager comes in and changes everyone including the players.

Alan Sheehan to us, linked on Exeweb.

Experienced and has promotions on his CV so could have some legs...
Could have some legs unlike Sheehan who these days would lose a foot race to the corner shop against my dead grandma.

It’s not often I agree with this Bolton fella, but he’s right that football, even in the lower leagues, has to move on from the ‘hoof it to the big guy’ approach. All 3 auto promoted teams last season played neat, attractive, passing football. Sure, we got found out a few times by the likes of Newport and Colchester where they essentially hoofed us into submission, but overall we dominated teams.

Occasionally, the hoof will get you out of L2 - but what then?

I don't think I've ever in my life heard Bolton fans called plastic...
Exeter is about as plastic as it gets...Its a fair size city with no rivals around them. A team with over 100 years history have never gone above lge 1 or the old third division.
One lge 2 winning season in over 100 seasons.
Just happy to finish mid table each year.
Another Rugby city......

In the National league last season 3 of the top 5 - Barrow, Boreham Wood and to a lesser extent Harrogate played the neat passing football way.

I love ball playing goalkeepers in League 2. FGR had a couple in their first season in the League and I think even their fans began to find it hilarious after the errors that were made.

The list of clubs without a signing decreases by the day. I know we’re on it but who else?
We haven't either, though we had a lot of players signed up from last season so we don't particularly need anyone (though it would help!).

At this level its not always easy to assemble a squad to a plan. Most teams will have a few players in them who are there because they were the only ones who wanted to sign for the club.

Niced to see some things never change about our "friends" from Horwich. Overblown option of their team and getting in players like no tomorrow when they have no idea when they are going to have the money to pay for them. They flirted with financial disaster last season and it looks from the outside at least like they are repeating the process.

As for the the Exeter (who are they exactly?) fan who described Horwich fans as "plastic" all I can say is that as much as I dislike Horwich and some of their more obnoxious fans now that the PL bandwagon brigade have disappeared there is no doubting the loyality of the ones that have stuck with the club through the last few seasons. Salford on the other hand I totally agree with. The only thing that would please me more than watching FGR crash and burn is to see them do likewise. Hopefully when we get to play them away next season things will be back to normal and they can see what real fans are like. It will be a real eye opener for them when the likes of us and Horwich fans turn up in numbers.

Best signing in league 2 so far this summer in my opinion. I would have loved to have seen him sign for us

You must have missed we have signed Wes Hoolahan then.

None of that explains why he wouldn't want Spearing. He almost certainly would have wanted him. He needs a player to anchor the midfield regardless if everyone else in there plays like Messi.

Just scanning through the signings. Bolton look a long way off of a promotion push for me, maybe play offs if Doyle catches fire. The division on the whole looks fairly poor. Vale will be good, regrettably Salford will be too. The Town not far off

Can you ride it out???
We won't be riding out the financial side of it as much as most clubs in this division, due to not making any signings until we know exactly what's going on. What we'll be riding out is now almost certainly a relegation battle.

The question is, can the other clubs that have been signing a lot of players ride it out? I said it before but if a club who is consistently averaging top ten attendances (6th, 8th, 10th, 9th since our return) while consistently finishing in the bottom half (14th, 18th, 17th, 15th in those same seasons), ie. a club with a solid but unspectacular income...if they are losing £1m and opting not to spend anything yet as a way of safeguarding their future...either they've got it wrong, or the others know something they don't. Usually, I'd be the first to say that Grimsby must have got it wrong but I actually think we're right here and a load of clubs are going to be the ones potentially not being able to ride it out.

James Vaughan is rumoured to be our next signing. Judging by his recent liked tweets he wouldn't be too against the move...

That pretty much sums up what you know about us. Glad we dont play in some out of town identikit stadium on an industrial estate with a bunch of overpaid fannies on the pitch.

Not disagreeing with that, just can’t see why anyone would pay a fee and match his wages wages (two years left on his contract), especially if this salary cap happens (supposedly from today).
