Could just be someone with Starr in their name. Or someone who's a star player at their club. Or a big fat bloke.

Someone from Partick Thistle, assuming Carlisle's twitter guru was typing in a hurry when searching for his gif...

Looks like a new signing is getting photo’d in the background of Joe Riley’s interview. Anyone recognise him?

was wondering if we'd be in for any players Beech might know from his time at Dale.
Calvin Andrew is a good bloke. He's very useful at defending other teams set pieces, can hold up the ball well and takes an unsaveable penalty (based on shoot outs - Ian Henderson took all the normal pens, despite being somewhat erratic). Doesn't score many, but does like scoring against Vale and Walsall, so might suit 20/21 League 2. You'll also probably increase your away following by 1 - his dad's a lovely bloke, and joined our away fans for most games when he was playing.

Andrew Tutte (lately of Morecambe) will also be known to Beech. Decent midfielder, with an irritating father who thought his lad should be playing for Real Madrid rather than wasting his time in the lower divisions...

Andrew Tutte was on trial at Bolton last week

Signing Number 1! Jay Spearing joins Tranmere. Made up with that.

It's Jay Spearing. Seems like a good signing on paper that.

Blackpool fans speak of him very highly. A leader on the pitch and exactly you want in your side. Seems like we’ve beaten a lot of clubs to him as well. Signed on a 2 year deal.

No wonder you've beaten off other league 2 clubs. Spearing was on £18k a week at Bolton in 18-19 and was one of Blackpool's top earners, not many at this level could afford that.

Probably be the highest paid player in the division next season, Tranmere clearly going for it.

Think it’s a signing that shows intent. I know for a fact we’re looking to be a lot smarter with our signings than we have the last few year.

I think we’re helped by the fact he lives in the area and has family on the Wirral. Wouldn’t expect us to be paying any more than £3.5/4k a week. Even that figure would put him right at the top as one of our highest earners.

I can’t believe this is happening to Tranmere. Some football clubs wait a life time for a moment like this.

There seems to be something in us being linked with Andy Cook. Not sure he'd be ideal for us anymore.

What's Ian Henderson's father like?

Andy Cook to Barrow?

Remember four or so days ago when all the Barrow fans cried because I said they were going to overspend?

Another hot take from the forum's top correspondent on all ITK financials going on in L2.

It makes you wonder if the Vaughan deal could still go through, as there seems to be more money around than some of us thought.

Gunna take a big wage and sizeable fee I imagine, unless it’s a loan and just wages, but he will be on a high wage.

Tranmere and Barrow officially GOING FOR IT™️

The list of clubs without a signing decreases by the day. I know we’re on it but who else?

Yeah it’s a bit of an unknown. No doubt the recent investment has helped things a bit and they seem pretty hooked in. That as well as getting a fair bit for Micky. Whilst I’d love to see Vaughan back, preference would be to look at the National League etc for players that are doing a job down there. Would be cheaper, less wages and if a success, someone we can sell on for a decent profit.
