Edgar Davids? Chris Birchall (Vale player when he played in 2006 WC played for us also in L2), Dennis Lawrence I assume was in that team also who played for Wrexham in L2

Going back some way now but we did have Onandi Lowe who played in France 98 for Jamaica. Admittedly Lowe left us after a short period to play for Rushden. Last heard of him was getting accused of drug smuggling however was actually cleared ultimately.

Ebou Adams is a current Gambia international.

Other full internationals I can think of we've had in recent years are Reece Styche (Gibralter), Keanu Marsh-Brown (Guyana), Al Bangura (Sierra Leone) Omar Koroma (Gambia) and Omar Bugiel (Lebanon)

He was always very good, was Gaz! Must've been a qualifiers I was thinking of.
How can someone with such an extensive knowledge of lower league football not know that Northern Ireland haven't played in a World Cup for absolutely ages? You need to delete some of those Lincoln City 2009 to 2015ish memories and make room for some more useful stuff!

I am unconvinced that listing international players is impressive when you've been in the Premier League. There are some great names on there but you'd expect a Premier League team to attract players of that calibre. You might not get them all at once. I want to hear more about League Two players who have played for Antigua and Anguilla.
Got two current Guyana internationals in Liam Gordon and Reiss Greenidge, but i dont expect them to rock up at the world cup finals any time soon
Although Reiss Greenidge grandad played many a game in the cricket world cup

Dino Visser to be announced, the Jurassic Park teaser pretty much gives that away.

Seems a decent option as back up and done well on trial

Comley a Montserrat international as well, sure they're on the cusp of qualifying...

Ian Goodison played 128 times for Jamaica. Played in the World cup 98. Most recently seen partying with Usain Bolt on a beach. What a man.

Back in the days when this was The Rochdale Division, Leo Bertos played for us. And also New Zealand, for whom he later played at the 2010 World Cup Finals.

Dean Furman apparently close to signing for us. He’s been training with us for the past couple of weeks.

Hello from non-league. Are we talking players who played in the WC before they came to L2, or players who played in L2 and went on to a WC? If the latter, you can add Kasper Schmeichel and Steve Finnan from Notts Co. And Shola Ameobi in the former category. Ah, better times!

Deon Burton played in the 98 WC for Jamacia and then for every single team in the FL, what a player though.

Bradford rumoured to be in for Danny Rose / Nicky Maynard.
Both of them? You heard anything?

McCall looking at League One/Champ players. No mention of him being interested in anyone in this league, apparently.

Some quality players still without a club.....Marcus Maddison and Chris Martin to name two.....Can you attract them and maybe you will have to pay good money, but the closer to the start of the season the better chance of getting them.....The downside they wont be match fit

They’ll be way out of our budget; not that they’d drop to L2, anyway.

Some interest in Maynard for sure, dunno about Rose, he’s a good L2 striker but it’s going to take a fee.

As mentioned before, it would appear that 2/3 of our budget has been spent. The remaining third is primarily set aside to sign Vaughan’s replacement and the much-required RB - leaving over £9,500 per week in wages remaining for essentially 2 players. In theory, we could offer Rose a decent wedge in wages and still have enough for a fee.

the fee isn’t included in the cap, but I think we will want a six figure fee.

both would improve Bradford instantly imo.

I thought the fees were included within the cap? Otherwise, there’s nothing stopping clubs signing higher-profile players with large joining fees but on reduced wages.

So with our summer business just about done and dusted, this is likely to be how we line up for the new season with everyone fit and available.

Brown

Gibbons
Smith
Legge
Montano

Joyce
Burgess
Conlon

Worrall
Amoo

Robinson/Cullen

Askey likes three in midfield so can't see us playing a different formation too often unless we are chasing a game and throw two up top. Fitzpatrick might get the nod over Montano for the left-back spot depending on the opposition, as Montano tends to leave his position a lot being a natural winger and teams will definitely target him and that side of the pitch. It's a toss up between Robinson and Cullen.

Overall I think we have a good, solid side and one that should be capable of a top 6 finish. You need a bit of luck along the way of course. We won't be a free scoring side, but we will be tough to beat and I expect us to go on to have one of the better defensive records in the league. Worrall, Amoo and Robinson or Cullen should be one of the better attacks in L2, but our midfield isn't the most creative and is more workmanlike and "busy" whoever we play there. It will be nice to have players like Cullen, Rodney and Pope on the bench, players who can come on and make a real impact.

We look like lining up:

___________________Norman______________________
Tanner____Hayden______McDonald___Anderton
_________Devine_____Guy______Dickenson_______
_________Patrick____Kayode______Reilly_________

But it's hard to tell really, we're a bit short of experience in centre-back and centre-midfield positions. I think if we sign Dean Furman it will be with an eye to him starting, don't know if we're looking at defenders though. McDonald and Anderton are currently our only defenders over the age of 23.

Up front it's harder to predict who will start, we have a few options and unless we sign more midfielders I'm guessing 4-3-3 is the plan. I feel Kayode is likely to go into the season as our main attacking threat, but then out of Gavin Reilly, Omari Patrick, Lewis Alessandra and Gimi Toure any of them could really come through pre-season on top. Gonna go with Patrick to continue playing where he ended last season and Reilly to get the nod purely on the basis that he has more pedigree and has been given the number 10 shirt.

3 ex-City in that starting XI
