Always thought he looked your best player against us

On his day he's great - started last season brilliantly but after Christmas was played out of position and didn't do a lot (neither did the whole team).

This season he's had a long-ish spell out, but doesn't look as effective to me. Never gets near a goal, still so light-weight and easily bullied, but has the ability to pick a through-ball and link up play.

Just my opinion, but he's not really progressed and seemed a bit out of sorts for most of the season.

I don't know quite where it is, but they were due to play Rushden & Diamonds (my local club) on Tuesday before falling foul of the weather so that gives a little idea of the level!

We’ve sold Billy Waters to Wrexham for an undisclosed fee. Didn’t realise National League players could still sign players, and weren’t Wrexham bound by Welsh transfer window rules???

He’s a decent player but not really bothered he’s gone - it’ll be a big fee (for us) and he’s missed many, many big chances for us this season - plus we haven’t got anything to play for now anyway. Similar to when we sold Dior Angus to Wrexham, I expect he’ll play a handful of times and then rot in the reserves.

May be wrong but it feels like they’ve not been able to land May so they’ve just gone down a long list until they’ve settled on Waters. It doesn’t make a lot of sense as he wasn’t even a regular starter for us of late - dozens of forwards in this league that would be worth a punt ahead of him.

Take the cash (with it being Wrexham I can't imagine they'd be arsed about haggling over small details) and move on. Scored a few but as mentioned misses plenty of chances as well. I'd be hoping we'd try to get someone superior in the summer because I don't think he's got what it takes to be a 15+ goal striker at this level, which is what this side is missing. Very similar player to Josh Gordon in terms of physical attributes too but Gordon is the better player.

I did rate him 3-4 years ago but I haven't seen or heard of him for a while.

I think signing a 33 year puts paid to the reason Nichols was sold and the other senior players kicked out was because of age.

Paul Simpson says he was texted by “a National League manager” asking if they had any strikers for sale. Basically confirming that Wrexham just went for a scattergun approach and had no idea who they were gonna end up with. Waters was probably not even on their list of targets but we were the first club that were happy to offload someone.

Not sure why I posted winger. I know he's not a winger. One more grey hair.

Yeah, after I posted the info I got from sources I actually looked him up and saw his age and what he has up too. He was a good player for Swindon and others but he does seem to have a falling out with people and a yellow card problem.
