No Palmer is the other first team striker, with Mullin.

With Armstrong (still waiting on confirmation of him) we will have six strikers, but we are expecting at least one (Bickerstaff) to go out on loan to the NL.

I suppose you could technically call MacAlinden a striker but he has never played there for us, and won't be in our 22. No idea why he is still at the club tbh.
Compare that with us, we've got three strikers (two are injured right now). Not saying Armstrong isn't an important signing for you lot in terms of progression, if we ignore the few it's a great signing. I don't buy all this "we need a striker" that you lot have been piping up with all window as it's absolutely not true, you've got more than most in that department without Armstrong.

Also miscounted our squad numbers, as I didn't add Gnahoua and the lad we've got in on loan from West Brom so we're on 23 actually.

I’m astonished we’ve let the deadline pass without a single singing despite the fact we probably needed 3 in yesterday, piss poor
I'm absolutely not surprised at all, I'm sick of being a Town fan on deadline day, it's just inevitable disappointment and deflation. We've not landed that striker we need for so many windows now. I still think we can go back to the same window we brought McAtee and Taylor in as we were still light with those two and still lacking a #9. It's a lot more bearable if you stop giving a shit. Lump on us to win today I say as it's such a Town/Hurst move to go and pump one of the best sides in the division 1-0 when The Fishy is in meltdown.

I really think pressure is on Parkinson big time now after these signings. The squad is stacked with a solid backup in all positions. Before yesterday I don't think it was essential to go up this season but after what we've done there I think the owners want/demand promotion or else. And rightly so for the outlay they've made.

There's so much quality there now and a good manager at this level would be getting this team up this season.
You heard it here first folks, Wrexham's title to lose according to MD.

Stoke finally coughed up the money for Junior Tchamadeu last night after dragging it out for about six weeks, believed to be anywhere between £1m-£1.5m. Presumably the signing of Mandela Egbo a couple of weeks back is his natural replacement, though we brought back Owura Edwards yesterday too who was playing wing back at Ross County last season.

Grimsby signed loads earlier in the window didn't they? It was a big deal on here. The board there have backed Hursty to the hilt. The message came across loud and clear yesterday "No More. Time to deliver"

We had Edwards on loan in our relegation season in 20/21, he either looked very good or completely non existent. When he was good he was match winning good though, fast and could skin a defender with a bit of end product. Surprised he's not kicked on and that he's playing wing back as he was very much a winger/wide attacker when we had him.

Yeah, has been fairly well backed and we brought in a lot early doors but we also got rid of loads too. The message is steady progression too, don't think the board expect promotion. We're going out of our way not to get swept away in the over inflated market which is kind of frustrating when we've got all this FA cup money but I also get what the board are doing. The long term deals should hopefully work in our favour over the next few windows as we'll be looking at tweaks rather than wholesale changes.

Yeah, he was very much a winger when he was on loan here before too and looked very good before he picked up an injury. At the same time as Edwards, we also had Tyreik Wright on loan on the other wing and Edwards made a much bigger impact than Wright, although Wright seemed to then kick on a bit quicker.

I suspect Egbo will be at full back and Edwards will then play further ahead.

Imminent league statement regarding Armstrong.

Doesn't sound like it's going to be good news. Hope this is just thepessimistic side of me- beaten down after decades of bad news.

Join the club - and we sold 1 as well. short on numbers
Not only did we sign nobody but we also lost Vernam until the new year with injury and I know he hasn’t been great so far but when he’s on it he is one of our best so a hugely disappointing deadline day for us.

Didn’t Edwards score against the Stags at Grimsby a few years back.
Thought he didn’t look too bad.
edit…. Just looked up the match report, I was thinking of Jackson but Edwards did play in the game.

Common sense would be to let it through tbh. It was clearly close. Harrogate probably want the 500k now they've felt what it's like in their pocket and it feels unfair to have the player in limbo.

Hopefully Shaun Harvey can pull some strings with his mates.

It’s all for the documentary isn’t it. Ryan Reynolds on Zoom ‘did we get him?’…cut to black….a shot of a fax machine comes slowly into focus…’we got him!’

Paperwork not done in time. Promotion off and Parkinson safe for this season again.

Hope we haven't paid the money yet...

All that money and no one fixed the fax machine?

Saved from themselves to be honest, mental fee for a decent but not amazing player in a position they don’t really need.

Yeah someone has messed up. The 11th hour nature of the deal probably didn't help, Although I suspect someone was looking for videos of Louis Armstrong rather than filling in the paperwork.

Could be a blessing in disguise. If he's only scored 3 goals by January we can get someone better in and save ourself half a mill.

Didn't Swindon get him scoring lots of goals?

When you pay a player she'd load of dosh it can be hard to get rid when you don't want him any more.

All of this drama could have been avoided if it weren’t for Wycombe playing around and all

Yeah at least all this means that neither Wycombe or Harrogate get any money after messing about for so long. Silver linings and all that.

We still need a striker, I'll die on this hill. Nowhere near enough goals up top when Mullin isn't there.

Forget Armstrong we need to sign MK Dons admin staff. They got that Harrison deal signed sealed and delivered in record time.

I’m wondering myself if it’s just a byproduct of your long absence from the EFL and not having to deal with things like this for a while. But that’s just presuming it was an error your end, until you make a statement nobody really knows what went on

Would he need international clearance ? Like when you sign folk from Scotland.

You’ve scored the second highest amount of goals in the league, surely you’ll be better now you’ve signed a keeper and got Hayden back.

Possibly a bit of that. When they took over the club it was basically run by volunteers. There are seemingly all sorts of issues with the office side as they try and fix years of underinvestment (which is why CEO Fleur Robinson gets so much abuse from some). We do also have the International element. I think everything has to go through the FAW as well as the league. I don't know exactly. But that always used to delay things for us - also why a few seasons ago we were the only club in the National League to have a transfer window (so we couldn't bring in any reinforcements to cover injuries when we were chasing Stockport).

With all our injuries, we have just loaned out our only fit right back to Ilkeston in the Northern Prem. You couldn’t make it up and are having to play our no.9 at right back.

Our forward line leaves a lot to be desired!

We sold Nadeson & Telford and haven't replaced them which means we have a front 3 of Orsi (who couldn't get into Grimsby's team) Campbell (signed from Gateshead) and Lolas (signed from Oxford City) !

We also have Ade Adeyemo signed from that footballing hotspot of Cray Valley Paper Mills, but he has been injured since before the season started, and Jed Brown who, as far as I can tell, has only ever played for the Sidemen.

I dont know why but I'm not confident of challenging for the play offs with these players up top.
