But aren’t you a L2 club in waiting

Not when he signs we won't and he doesn't want to sign for any L2 club even if they offer him crazy amounts.

It's a terrible league with awful standards and full of little plastic project clubs.

When you are bottom, dead last, propping up the rest of the division, Carver is right to look down at L2 and try and take the piss. It's the correct play when your team is embarrassing itself in it's new elevated surroundings.

Awful. terrible. Then Carlisle should fit in rather well.

When's this upturn in results going to happen mate? I just notice that it's been over a month since the turnover and Carlisle haven't won a game yet?

Setting things up for a grandstand finish as you roar to promotion?

At what point does Wrexham’s ownership tire of having to invest large transfer fees to mask the fact Parkinson is a bang average manager?

Well notts fans think williams is a messiah but surely a manager whos side ships some very daft goals regularly ,should also fall into the bang average group

Correct, we are beleaguered and Williams can’t set a side up to defend. Hypothetically, if any club in a higher division were to look at him they should see our defensive record this season and not bother digging any deeper into it and leave him well alone.

On course for back to back promotions on the back of a record breaking points total, but yes we should sack our bang average manager and pick up the latest Loughborough graduate managing a 2nd tier team in Sweden.

Meanwhile, Crawley keen on Conference south midfielder but may not be able to afford the wages he is demanding.

We may turn our attention to a up and coming prospect in the Dog & Duck 2nd eleven.

Do you think you lot will be looking to make the Maguire loan a permanent deal?

Think his loan is up towards the end of next month, but looks like he’s played regular for you so I’m assuming it’s something you may look to extend / make permanent. Hows he done for you overall?

Chester extension is really all we needed and it’s now sorted, a forward would be nice but not a necessity, more a luxury.....we have never had such depth in squad ever....and folk say we will fade away shortly due to lack of depth and I can’t fathom their rationale.

When it

a) stops being something we can afford

and

b) when he stops getting results.

Until then it seems to be working fine?

Better go and get that Loughborough graduate from Sweden.

*camera cuts to a zoom meeting*

Rob: ‘so what you’re saying is it would be crazy to hire a guy from the Swedish 2nd division’

Shaun Harvey: ‘yes, it would be a huge gamble’

Ryan: ‘this is the biggest decision of our lives Rob…Do we play it safe or take the gamble?’

I think it’s inevitable Young gets recalled, whether he’s still here at the end of January I’m less sure should someone stump up a few quid for him.

The way he’s played in the last 4/5 games I’m not sure anyone would stump up money for him. He was poor and pretty much ineffective last night.

Rumours coming out of America , I mean Cumbria, that Carlisle United Football Club are looking to rectify their current dire and desperate situation by lining up a 7 figure offer and smashing their transfer record paid for the EFLs hottest striker, some goal hanger called Macaulay Langstaff in January.

Personally I think he should be aiming much higher, maybe even as high as the club he supports Middlesbrough in the Championship.

He's got a better chance of being in L1 next season by staying here, whatever Carlisles spending power.
Middlesbrough looks a fair bet.
The problem is he's now a seven figure striker and not many clubs below top end Championship have that kind of money to spend.

You're right, absolutely zero chance.

I think we'll try our best to avoid recalling him. Reading between the lines, we're going to see who we can get in first before making a decision. After Blackpool on NYD, we have two weeks off so I'd be surprised if any recall is imminent.

Posted on the L1 forum already, but two names bandied about in the past couple of days as possible incomings from L2 clubs:

Will Evans at Newport. Really not convinced we could afford him.

And Hiram Boateng at Mansfield. He obviously knows the club really well and is a good player, but not too sure he’d want to come back.

I thought Young’s last game for us is Crawley on Monday.

Apparently, Kemp has turned down a 2 year deal with MK.

Presume it’s Kemp telling them he doesn’t see his future at Franchise. He has 6 months left on his contract so purchasers for decent money may be thin on the ground.
