Dallas was class for us in a 4-2-3-1 and suited our formation perfectly. He’s not really a CF or a winger, but he is busy, quick and has a decent finish. Think he would do well for a lower league 2 side but no higher than that. Top end of NL is probably his level.
I don't think he was all that good really. Town fans tend to have an inflated opinion of Dallas based on how he ended his stint here. A hattrick put a shine on his stats, but until then he'd gone his first 8 or 9 games without scoring and looked pretty invisible doing it. I suspect he's someone affected by confidence more than most.

According to twitter we are signing Dara Costelloe on loan from Burnley. A striker who was on loan at Accrington for the first half of the season, their fans seemed sad to see him go which is a positive, not sure if there are any accy fans here but anyone else seen him this so far this season?
We had him on loan under Hughes, in fact he probably played in the game at Sixfield’s when you went up. Unless he’s had some miracle level of improvement there’s not a chance he’s L1 standard.

Why do Chesterfield fans refer to the club as Town? Were they called Chesterfield Town at some point?

Did well sometime in past, not been good for a while either mass injury issues or mentally lacking confidence……..sounds exactly the type of player Carlisle keep going for.

Surprised we ain’t trying a bid for gascoigne

Dunno why it stuck tbh. We've always been called Town locally. If I used it where I live now no one would have the faintest idea who or what I was talking about, but it makes perfect sense in and around Chesterfield.

Nathan Thompson, our best defender based on the 110 minutes of evidence we got to see is out for the season. Great signing... :woot:
‘Tis true ffs. Lasted less than 7 days!

Given the above, we have just signed Jack Sanders from St Johnstone, presumably as a replacement for the replacement. Sigh.

I'd only imagine that would happen if we get someone in first.

Joe Gardner set for Lincoln so can rule that one out.
Confirmed he's signed for Lincoln I'm starting to wonder what we are doing from the rumours online.

Signing number 11 confirmed at Carlisle.

A young lad in on loan from Burnley. Joe Bevan.

I’ve no idea, but hopefully he’ll be a useful addition.

From the article on our OS, he sounded like one we were keeping tabs on for next season but a season ending injury to Moylan forced our hand to bring someone in.

Rumour our end that we are going to loan Kyle Hurst to Chesterfield. On his day he is brilliant he just doesn’t have many of those days. I’d be sad to see him leave as he’s better than some of those getting in the team at present but McCann obviously thinks differently

Tbf at times it's difficult to be know where GTFCfish ends and Son of Cod starts.
Definitely not an "obsessive comment". If you're ever confused about who is who, Fish is the one who does the puns and I'm the one that always defeats you in arguments.

Not sure about that, that would take our current loans up to 7 including the winger from brentford who is also rumoured.

Are you good at spotting obsessive comments?

That's certain one way you can tell the difference :bg: . Alternatively, one is a 'try hard' to cringe worthy levels and the other occasionally suffers from bouts of delusion.

Strangely, for football, neither ever disagree or argue with each other so maybe that's why the person got you two confused :dk:

Fully expect your buddy to comment even though he claims that has me and others on ignore yet can't stop the name checks. Bless

Possibly Michael Olakigbe from Brentford, been at Wigan. No idea but it feels like a bit of a punt.
Confirmed by the club now. A little bit underwhelmed, it's a career trajectory I've seen so many times before. Lad with pace and raw ability but can't put it together consistently and slips further through the pyramid. Wigan fans weren't keen either. Still, it's only a loan I suppose and it's unfair to the lad to be judging before he's played.

Looks like Carlisle and Morecambe are having a wrestle over Andy Dallas.

And Morecambe have won the wrestle.

I’m genuinely surprised. Maybe they aren’t as broke as people think.

I’d be interested to see how Carver talks his way out of us losing out on a player to a relegation rival.

If I ask my mates if they're going down town Saturday it actually means are you going for drinks in Nottingham city centre Saturday night:)

No idea if anything in it but seen suggestions on Twitter of Connor Ripley possibly getting packed off to Swindon. Whether it’s got legs in it or not I think his time at Vale has reached its conclusion. Good keeper when his mind is right but not as good as he thinks he is also.

We lose out to basket case club Morecambe on a striker with experience and instead have to settle for an unproven academy kid, great.

Considering the lack of goals in our team all season, the transfer business we’ve done has been poor for a club supposedly doing everything to stay up.

I was hoping we’d get a real quality addition to give me some hope that we can score the goals to stay up, but Cedwyn Scott, Joe Hugill and Joe Bevan simply aren’t that. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t massively convinced by Andy Dallas, but he has a bit more pedigree than the three we have. The rest of the season will be much of the same imo, hence my view that we’ll be relegated.

Morecambe pushing Carlisle around and seen as a much more attractive proposition is it?
