Giles Coke was a great League 2 player in 2005.

Can almost certainly say we weren't in for Miller. Infact, i'd never heard of him until I read this thread so text a mate at Peak FM who has confirmed we never made an approach - we were after Dodds, Coke and a couple of loanees, which we all got.

The only player we didn't get was the one we had lined up as Dennis' replacement who signed for Cov, hence why the Dennis deal never went through.

I think that was Jonathan Forte, but we wouldn’t let him go because our deal for Mason Bennett didn’t go through until minutes before the deadline.

All in all it's been a decent transfer window for us, I think. I said back at the beginning of January that we'd probably be looking at up to 8 new signings this transfer window and we've ended up with 7 - 8 would've been Theo Robinson.

Only downside is first choice 'keeper picking up a potentially season ending injury yesterday so we had to scramble around for a 'keeper and signed one that none of his previous clubs rate at all, so it'll be Farman as number 1...

Could have probably done with another ST but we have enough options to sort something out there but without replacing like for like.

Still think Nathan Arnold will be gone and unless something was done last night but not announced yet, he might rock up on loan at an NL Club.

The only way we'd replace Raggett was to sign Raggett!

Ins (7)
Danny Rowe (RW/LW) - Loan (Ipswich)
Lee Frecklington (CM) - Undisclosed (Rotherham)
James Wilson (CB) - Free (Sheffield United)
Jordan Williams (LW) - Loan (Rochdale)
Tom Pett (RW/LW apparently) - Undisclosed (Stevenage)
Scott Wharton (CB) - Loan (Blackburn)
Ryan Allsop (GK) - Loan (Bournemouth)

Outs (5)
Sean Raggett (CB) - End of Loan (Norwich)
Josh Ginnelly (RW/LW) - Termination of Loan (Burnley) (Since gone to Tranmere)
Jordan Maguire-Drew (RW/LW) - Termination of Loan (Brighton) (Since gone to Coventry)
Billy Knott (CM) - Loaned to Rochdale
Callum Howe (CB) - Sold to Port Vale

We might be confirming another signing this morning, apparently we filed the paperwork on time for a permanent transfer, and are awaiting EFL clearance, until then we're not naming the player.

We have mentioned though it's a player who has agreed a deal until the end of the season, so calm your jets, it's not going to be anyone exciting if it's a short term deal.

Seems that Theo Robinson didn't fancy coming back to L2 and stayed at Southend.

I suspect Sam Jones was also one we were interested in, but he went off to Shrewsbury.
I suspect if that had happened they'd have chopped Fentys head off outside the Town Hall.

Signed some Fleetwood striker, on loan of course :bravo:

Ashley Nadesan was scoring for fun for Horley Town (the other side of Gatwick from Crawley) a season or so ago. There was a bug scramble for his signature which we were rumoured to be involved with (him being a local lad) but he went to Fleetwood as they offered more money and one of his parents has a boarding house in Blackpool(ish).
Lots of talent there but I'm not sure if he is the answer to your often stated striker woes.

I would have said he'd have had his bollocks chopped off instead but he obviously doesn't have any otherwise he'd have sacked Slade weeks ago.

Rob Dickie returned to Reading after his loan ended and was then sold by them to Oxford, not surprised you forget him Luke bit average imho and Waterfall is better than him but was dropped for him.

Bristol Rovers have revealed we accepted a bid from them for Otis Khan but the player turned it down. Not a surprise, why would anyone want to go to those lot?

It's Jamal Campbell-Ryce that we've signed

He had a decent game against us earlier in the season, when Barnet looked a good outfit with very pacy forwards. Things have gone downhill for them since then, but if he can replicate that performance, and I understand he is getting on a bit, then I'd say good signing. The plan is for him to provide a bit of what we've lost with Adams' injury... honestly I can't see him entirely doing that, but think he will improve our attack nonetheless.

So out transfer window is as follows:

OUT
Steven Rigg - released - again
Sam Cosgrove - Aberdeen - 25k
Shamal George - Liverpool - end of loan
Shaun Miller - Crewe - loan
Conor Salkeld - Annan - loan

IN
Cole Stockton - Hibernian - free
Ashley Nadesan - Fleetwood - loan
Louis Gray - Everton - loan
Kris Twardek - Milwall - loan
Jamal Campbell-Ryce - Barnet - undisc.

I absolutely loved Jama when he was with us under Curle, genuinely a really fun player to watch. His actual constructive output when compared to the amount of times he put someone on their arse three times in a row was pretty negligible, mind.

If it eases your mind a tad, Allsop was excellent for us for 6 months after we rescued him from some Scandinavian backwater. Then he f***ed off to Bournemouth to be a 4th choice League One goalkeeper rather than sign a new contract so I can’t say I’m too displeased that his career has descended into spiralling loan hell.

Well we could really do with players who will go past their man; when you say putting someone on their arse three times in a row though, do you mean in three seperate attacks or more like, beats his man, lets his man catch up, beats him again and so on... David Amoo did that.

We’ve just signed a load of centre backs.

Quite happy with Hannant, Raglan and Howe as they’ve at least played some league/non league games in the last few seasons. The other signings I’m not too sure about.

Not too fussed about losing Gunning or Anderson really. Would have kept Denton but he went back to Leeds for personal reasons, can’t really be too annoyed at that and he will eventually play at a higher level than this.

We still don’t have a proper left back though.

It was a mistake by both Cox and radford. And was a little embarrassing from us.

I then thought about how we could have worse than radford, like dave Allen and ashley Carson for instance, and then smile and relax knowing we're in safe hands and moving in the right direction both on and off the pitch.

Seems weird loaning a PL reserve 'keeper who's 25. Seems a bit old for pissing about being 4th choice and having loans spells here, there and everywhere.

Expect beautiful close control, dribbling and passing. His play between the halfway line and the final third is class.

Unfortunately you can also expect him to slow the game down badly as he gets anywhere near the full back, needlessly turning him inside out about 10 times over, and by the time he puts a cross in the opposition defence have their entire back line sorted.

For a really technically gifted and well schooled attacking player at this level, his goals/assists return is nowhere near where it should be.

EDIT: Although, having said that, Rossi tried him as a number 10 early in the season, and playing through the middle helped to cut some of the awful habits out of his game and made him release the ball quicker as he didn't just end up in a stand off with the full back. Sadly this didn't last long as we moved things around due to injuries.

A few reasons why someone would leave Yeovil for us :-
1. Ambition
2. Darrel Clarke
3. Bigger crowds
4. More money ( hopefully )
5. Live in a nicer place ( I should know I worked in Yeovil for 4 years )

Happy with the JCR signing, one of those players that usually always play well against us. Hopefully he brings a bit of excitement in his play.

I remember a Bristol City fan once referring to Campbell-Ryce as the 'Oozlum Bird' and it's the most perfect nickname ever given to a player

'The oozlum bird, also spelled ouzelum, is a legendary creature found in Australian and British folk tales and legends. Some versions have it that, when startled, the bird will take off and fly around in ever-decreasing circles until it manages to fly up its own backside, disappearing completely. Other sources state that the bird flies backwards so that it can admire its own beautiful tail feathers, or because while it does not know where it is going, it likes to know where it has been.'

Always thought JCR was pretty effective. He often turned back as there would be nothing forward to pass to as we'd play one up with Curle and have not been blessed with pace throughout the team in years under loads of managers.

I liked JCR and think he'd do well up Norf. He is overly slow at releasing the ball sometimes but is capable of really ruining a FB's life.

I know he was super pissed at being dropped as soon as GW came in (and for Alex Nicholls too - christ, what an insult) so this isn't a surprise. After some of the abuse he was getting from fans too I don't blame him for sticking two fingers up at the club.

We're an absolute fucking shit show. I wish I was allowed to say some of the things I actually know about what goes on at the Hive.

I won't ask but nothing would surprise me with the Thorne/McGhee/Westley axis.
