Bury F.C. absolute bottlejobs.

Concede two injury time goals in a week, had the opportunity to win the shoot out after Forest missed, only to miss our own.

Out 10-9 on penalties.

Soundly beaten 2-0 despite fielding a strong team. Seems like we were just outpaced all over the park. Not concerned but it highlights our need for a couple more players before we can start making any real noise in the league. Young lads Max Wright and Akheem Rose got some game time and it sounded like they were comfortable, which is really pleasing.

Less than 1k home fans in our first game back in the league cup shows how much credence this cup holds at this stage, even this early in the season.
Done Bradford on pens.

Best cup competition in the world.

Our reserves are drawing 2-2 at Middlesbrough reserves, sounds a fun game to be fair. Twice took the lead through teenage debutant Tom Crawford then old man Jon, who is consistently amazing in cup games for some reason.

Drew 3-3 and lost on penalties. Great effort from a really young team though, the same thing happened in this last season and we started winning every game for about two months after it, so hopefully that'll get our season going again this time.

50 years ago we won this bloody thing. Now we’re losing at home to (no offence to you) a glorified non-league garden centre, who in turn win their first ever league cup tie.

We are not very good at all. Well done FGR.

To be fair, 1969 is quite a long time ago.

But i wouldn't worry, i think that's the last time we beat swindon so you'll be back to winning ways on saturday.

I know it’s against championship opposition tonight, but our defence is so shit. Some good goals from Blackburn but some absolute defensive disasters from us as per usual. We actually had some decent spells of play tonight, scored a great goal, hit the bar twice, but when you defend like we do you’ve got no chance.

3 games played this season, 10 goals conceded and if it wasn’t for wasteful Northampton on Saturday that could be 12 or 13. Any Carlisle fan that isn’t seriously worried about relegation is kidding themselves. We’re far too easy to score against.

I’m going on Saturday. Not looking forward to seeing Paul Mullin score a couple of unmarked goals as our defence stand and watch and blame each other.

Losing patience with Brown a bit. 3 wins in 14 since he took over from Flitcroft.

Drew 1-1 with Fleetwood but lost on pens, no suprise, we're cack at pens. In truth Fleetwood should have won in the 90 mins.

Meh, out to Fleetwood on penalties. Spirited performance, just didn't have that quality to pinch a winner. Happy with the reaction to the Newport performance, hopefully gives them a boost ahead of a tricky game against MK Dons on Saturday.

Good result given the 7 changes and Vickers, Eardley, Bostwick at home with their feet up.

Went back to a 3 man defence and that's three different formations in our opening three games I think.

Early days but already looks like we have tonnes more goals in the side, which is pleasing because lack of goals cost us last season.

Bloody football. I don’t know whether to feel angry or sorry for myself.

We’re putting in good performances and not getting any points/cup progress.

3 games and 3 fairly solid performances but only one win so far.

Not sad to be out of it, but the scoreline is a bit worrying. A positive reaction is needed this weekend.

We’ve knocked out Ipswich 4-2 on penalties. Ex Tractor Boy Lee Martin scored the decisive penalty.

Really pleased to be through and we were on the front foot for the majority of the second half which is really encouraging. Hope to get a good draw in the next round...Would love someone like Newcastle at home (the real SJP).

You reckon? Ok, they probably shaded the chances, but they only managed 1 shot on target ultimately. Thought a draw was a fair result for both teams. Besides, they were lucky to even have 11 men on the pitch, how that Nathan Sheron wasn't sent off for that horrible lunge on Jones I'll never know.....oh wait, I do, Trevor Kettle reffed the game. How does this waste of space still get games at this level? He should have been struck off the list years ago.

Difficult to judge tonight, playing against a Charlton U 23 team, we looked decent, solid defensively and a threat up front, be interesting to see how we do against tougher opposition 3-0 , that'll do for me.

2-0 up and cruising and we let Col U back into it 10 mins from time by conceding two goals in two mins.

Managed to scrape through 6-5 on pens though. A wins a win and now we have to build on that.

Our lads appear to have been torn into after the game judging by Brabins comments that certain individuals and collectives have been told things that are inappropriate to give to the press... interestingly as yet Aspin hasn’t spoken.

All well and good doing that but I hope the management team realise it does help picking players in their proper positions.

We played what was effectively Charlton's U23's, but we were very good. Our kids didn't look out of place, we played a defensive midfielder in striker and he ran the show... all in all a very, very good result.

Thought we were very good tonight but ultimately poor finishing cost us the win, missed a 1 on 1 and a penalty, plus had a goal disallowed. It took Villa bringing on Grealish (who was a cut above anyone else on the pitch) and Kodjia to turn the game in their favour. Overall really encouraging signs for the season ahead.

Soundly beaten although 3 of the goals were a car crash from our perspective.
Lincoln clearly a good side with a squad to be jealous of. No Pope no threat simples.

Lincoln are a horrible team , gamesmanship, time wasting even in the first half, niggly, Wimbledon circa 1988 .
However that is everything you need to do well at this level.

Special mention to Michael O'connor, absolute screamer from one of the top 3 midfield players to play for our club in the last decade. If he stays injury free he is a top player.
