Well I'm very pleased with the way we performed at Milwall. Akinde still has it even when playing against higher division opponents and the whole team played really well as a unit. Our season starts now!

we were fucking superb. Noble and Aborah in particular again. Red tried to ruin it with a fucking weird second yellow for Swerts so now he misses Mansfield too though ffs - might end up with the most makeshift back 4 ever unless Hewitt and Adams are back.

Desperately unlucky to lose against Birmingham tonight. It was a superb performance and it has given everyone a huge injection of confidence ahead of Saturday's trip to Yeovil. We had half our first choice midfield missing and still dominated for long periods, so we can take a lot of positives from how we played.

Really good numbers from Brum fans, but they didn't even attempt to make any noise all night. I know it's difficult on an open terrace, but some of the Conference teams last season sung more than they did, which says a lot.

2-1 in bandit country, can't go wrong. Fitness may have lacked in the second half but Millwall didn't really get a foot in the first. Solid performance, and a decent cup tie to boot.

We were fucking amazing tonight. The football on show was superb to watch. We've signed some decent technically gifted players over the summer and it's showing. We'll still get beat quite often because we're playing so open, but it's enjoyable.

Kemar Roofe's goal vs Brentford is a bit special, wow!

Hope he doesn't do that on Saturday...

Seems that as usual Daggers and Wombles have ruined a superb night for League 2 sides.

Wow, what a performance and what a day. Unreal from the players and great support from the Bees fans too.

Every player had at least a 7/10 game, with Dembele, Nelson, Gambin and Akinde having stormers.

Players looked tired after 80 minutes but summoned that extra bit of strength to carry on into extra time - wasn't a case of hanging on by a thread either, we deserved that.

First 2 goals very reminiscent of how we played at times 2 seasons ago, not like last seasons hit and hope bollocks.

Only very quick highlights but that's great to see.

All the goals were terrible defending there, especially the 3rd obviously. All is not well at Brizzle City apparently, summat about Cotterill being unhappy about transfer stuff over the summer

Lot of upsets last night, great to see. Maybe Champ clubs can't be fucked with the league cup anymore though, we'll gladly take the big ties instead though eh.

If you were from another country and knew nothing about our football pyramid. You'd have thought we were a conference side playing League One/Championship side.

How we only lost 3-0 is beyond me and the 30 minutes extra I got was useful.

Missed opportunity for us, Rotherham were wank but we didn't really get going until we made all 3 subs, and even then we still looked a bit toothless towards goal, bit concerned about what would happen if Mr Corr gets injured as we don't have a like-for-like replacement and it showed last night.

What a shit competition.

York v Bradford picked up in the second half. Absolute joke of a penalty for York though. Left at FT so have no idea how it finished.

York won 4-2 on penalties...was an excellent game in the end, despite a poor opening 45 minutes, and I'd say we deserved to win that. 2nd round for the first time since 1997!

And having seen the highlights, our penalty does look like a penalty. I certainly had my doubts at the time.

Felt sorry for the Blackpool fans, a long old season in store if that performance is anything to go by. It struck me as odd though that fans were leaving after the third goal went in. If you have travelled all that way you might aswell watch at least the first half!

Good showing from us all round though. Looking forward to Exeter on Saturday, should be a good test.

It looked shoulder to shoulder in real time and your guy went over very easily.

York were awful in the first half but were much more fluid in the second. Your defence will let you down though. Lowe in particular was awful with the ball at his feet.

I really liked Berret though.

Our first goal scored under Teddy is an o.g., could be a sign of things to come. By all accounts did alright last night.

We played a B tean at Rotherham and were very unfortunate to lose (two legit goals disallowed in two games it seems!).

However, compared to others in this division it's a massive fail. Why not name the strongest side and go for it?! It's one match for the sake of a top flight tie! Baffling as usual at CUFC.

Not sure I agree, Taylor shouldn't be anywhere near the squad but other than that a pretty strong XI + bench.

In answer to your question, minutes into players and I'm sure you've read by now Corr (slight strain) & Legge (Illness). Who, I'd have preferred not to have risked anyway. I'd 100% give up all the cups right now for promotion.

Dont worry, even if he is fit, Corr will spend most of the season suspended for violent conduct or cheating.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Good enjoyable game, I always enjoy cup games and never know why so many fans ignore going to them.....no pressure, usually open games, and normally enjoyable even when lost. last night everyone got their moneys worth even the Chesterfield fans, could have been 5-5 or 5-0 wins for either side and just was dictated to by poor timing or finishing where it mattered

Hopefully was signs we'll have a go this season and not bore everyone to death, but i'll wait afew games first as its a lot different displaying the flair when you get the much limited time and space fo league games to cup.

I think if we needed one more player or can get one more I'd like an organizer for the back, while I quite like the way we've gone unafraid to push men forward I think when you've a lack of numbers it can be made up by someone there to direct the few into correct areas.

How did Scot Bennett play?

He played left-back to cover for a centre-back who was playing left-back and got suspended...so considering that, he did very well. He's a really weird player, clearly nowhere near big enough to be a CB but not really that effective as a full-back going forward. As a cover option though he seems good, had 45 good minutes at Stevenage in the middle too after Sprockel was injured. Body of a full-back, head of a centre-back is how I'd describe him. Don't expect him to play much once everyone is fit/not suspended - but he's already exceeded expectations.

Even for a 4-1 defeat we weren't all that bad last night, some neat passages and at 3-1 we came fairly close to getting back into it, but obviously didn't. Under no illusions that Jodi Jones won't be here in a years time, looking at some serious bunce for him.
