Dont worry, even if he is fit, Corr will spend most of the season suspended for violent conduct or cheating.
I don't see why that would be the case. We've had a pretty impeccable disciplinary record under Money over the past two seasons, particularly on players he's actually spent some decent time coaching (4 sendings off, 2 were in a player's debut and 3rd game for us). Corr will be fine.

He played left-back to cover for a centre-back who was playing left-back and got suspended...so considering that, he did very well. He's a really weird player, clearly nowhere near big enough to be a CB but not really that effective as a full-back going forward. As a cover option though he seems good, had 45 good minutes at Stevenage in the middle too after Sprockel was injured. Body of a full-back, head of a centre-back is how I'd describe him. Don't expect him to play much once everyone is fit/not suspended - but he's already exceeded expectations.
Glad he's done ok so far.....

You've perfectly described the main issue with Bennett. He just can't nail down one position. For us he played a lot in centre midfield but his poor passing let's him down. He also played upfront for a bit and scored a few goals but he has no pace so he's limited there. He also played RB a few times but mainly CB where, as you say, isn't quite tall enough despite being strong in the air. I suspect he will be good for you as backup.

I think we signed Bennett before we decided to spend loads of money, not sure he'd be here otherwise. Done okay, though.

Have Portsmouth got nowhere else in their ground in which to put a camera/gantry? Horrible camera angle.

The camera angle at that shed is awful.

Can we withdraw from this competition next year, please? Who ever we're drawn against can have a bye to the next round. A typical Wimbledon performance in the first round...nothing for 75 minutes, realise we better show some balls but too little too late - meh! On the plus side, had a good night out in Cardiff!

Don't think we can read anything into this first round now...we've all fucking spanked Championship teams by the looks of it.

Just a couple of oddities from our win last night
1. Evidently 0-4 is the highest away score ever recorded for a level 4 team v a level 2 team. Have not checked it.
2. At one stage in the 2nd half last night the Oxford players on the field were numbered 1 to 11. Its a long time since I have seen that happen.

Last night was the most gutting feeling since we lost the playoff final for me, we was excellent for 89mins but we just could not take our chances and kill the game off.

Good win and we managed to rest a few players ahead of Saturday.

Yeah I'm glad that we too managed to rest a few before Saturday, would've been tough on the starting 11 to put them through 3 games + 1 extra half hour. It's been a while since we had the depth to allow us to rest players and it should be of great benefit to us this season.

I was very proud to be a stanley fan last night - great atmosphere created by both sets of fans and a brilliant game. We played really well against a strong Hull side and lost on sudden death penalties. I can't think of a more unlucky way to lose a game!!
However well done to the League 2 sides who made it through

Was hoping Bennett would score for Pompey last night to add to the six goals scored by Bennetts for Portsmouth area clubs in four days (2 by Kyle against Dagenham on Saturday and all 4 by Justin Bennett for Gosport Boro against Weston Super-Mare on Tuesday night)

am I missing the plot here?? Why are teams "resting" players at this early stage of the season?? What better practice for the next match is there? Jeez, they've all just had at least a month's rest....overpaid cocks the lot of them!!

There are quite a lot of games coming up, straight after an intense pre season.

Cause he wasn't very good.....still a bit of a cult hero though, as was Bruce Inkango - he didn't even get one game for us!

Another nice soundbite from the Pompey Derby game is at until last night, Portsmouth had scored just once in five years in the League Cup.

We've scored once in about 11 years in the league cup. We win.

Who is everyone hoping for in the draw then?

CMTnxrMWsAMGnPC.jpg

Load of bollocks this seeding business. A 1 in 24 chance of getting either Watford or QPR though, certainly won't be complaining if one of those come of out of the hat. Also wouldn't mind Brighton away for the new ground, although unlike Watford/QPR I doubt that would attract many travelling fans.
