The League Cup starts for League 2 teams on Tuesday

Shrewsbury v Carlisle
Accrington v Tranmere
Wimbledon
v Gillingham
Blackpool v Barrow
Bolton v Salford
Bradford
v Hull
Crawley v Bristol Rovers
Doncaster v Lincoln
FGR v Leyton Orient
Grimsby
v Crewe
Harrogate
v Stockport
Ipswich v Colchester
Luton v Newport
Mansfield
v Derby
Milton Keynes v Sutton
Northampton
v Wycombe
Rochdale v Burton
Walsall v Swindon
Reading v Stevenage

The first round of this season’s League Cup sees a first ever game between Sutton and Milton Keynes. Neither side has made a particularly good start to the league season with a point gained between both sides.

Ben Goodliffe and Will Randall are likely to still be missing for Sutton. We’ve never won a game in this competition and I think that’s unlikely to change on Tuesday but there’s always hope.

We'll be full of confidence but Blackpool should really have too much. Depends what side they put out.

Wellens has said we will make changes, we've still got players short of fitness and I can see our better players being rested with all the squad players starting.

Still very short in central midfield and our attacking players fitness is still being built up.

Thought we'd make changes for our game but judging by Hughes' comments yesterday I think we'll be at full strength. Not a lot we can change in forward areas even if we wanted to with 4 players unavailable. Would expect Cook and Young to start after their impact yesterday.

Hull on TV, don’t think we’ll win but hopefully we’ll play a full strength side after a poor showing first two games.

Typical City - we’ll play out of our skins, beat Champ opposition and lose to Newport at home next Saturday.

We’ve been spectacularly shite in this competition for years. Don’t expect that to change Tuesday.

Derby at home so at least we’ll get a good crowd and some extra £££££. Don’t interest me enough to go mind.

I can’t see anything but a loss, fully expect quite a few changes to give fringe players a run out

Home to Crewe, don't think anyone's getting too excited about the game to be honest.

Hope we win of course, but if each team makes major changes to their team/squad who knows who'll go into the next round?

Having said that I don't think either side has enough players to make whole sale changes!

I'd hope we do but I think we will probably go half and half maybe 4 or 5 changes. Don't really care about the result to be honest, would be nice get through and draw say a Newcastle but other than that give me 3 points at Salford on Saturday every day. I'd be surprised if over 100 Crewe fans travel to be honest, I expect it will be more like a pizza cup following.

We have managed to keep our solid Boycott of the Pizza/Whatever Cup, but with Man City being our Prem side I can see that changing this season.

No idea how many will turn up for us against you on Tuesday: 3,000 maybe.

So have we be interesting to see whats changed as you murdered us last season if both sides put a strong team out which is probably unlikely.

Our reserve team at League One minnows FGM. Cannot say this one has been pencilled into the old diary. We will win 6-0.

If we play like we did with 10 men on Saturday we’ll be fine. If we play like we did with 11, God help us!

Cannot see anything other than a heavy defeat at home to Hull. I'll be there though hoping I'm wrong and witness the start of a good cup run. We are overdue an appearance in the final now, its been 9 years!

You reckon it’s just the new players yet to settle in? That’s what I’m hoping it is with us! Both of us had large squad churn.

If you are asking that of my lot. I don't see that as an excuse. I believe Walsall and Barrow have had even bigger turnovers and they are off to flying starts.

We brought all our new signings in very early in pre-season, so they've been together a few weeks now and had time to gel and work out formations and tactics

We have yet to replace Vernam or Pereira in my opinion, who were both influential under Hughes toward the end of last season. We still hold faint hopes that Luton will allow Pereira to rejoin us on loan before the end of this month though.

Arguably our best player, Jamie Walker, is likely to be out for a few months with a knee injury, he has a scan today so will know the extent later.

I think we will be fine long term, but in for a bumpy ride this first month

Looking forward to the worst of both worlds tomorrow. Unlikely to enjoy flowing football watching us host Wycombe but also unlikely to beat them. Ill be there hoping we can start to click a little more.

I know what you mean. Over the first 2 games its apparent Lindsey doesn’t seem to know the pros and cons of the new players - he’s chopping and changing to find out, which is fair enough.

Main thing is to drop the 3 at the back and go with 4.

After the two shit shows in the league I'm sacking Tuesday off. Burton have been hammered in both league games so far so maybe a good opportunity to stop a rot setting in? Knowing my luck we'll probably win this as I sit at home.

long term you'll definately be fine especially if you start playing Young more. The left side of your defence is a bit of a worry though - we seemed to constantly target it in the 2nd half. The left back gave away too many soft needless free kicks including the one for the winning goal.

I’ve never been a big fan of Ridehalgh personally, but a lot of our fans seem to rate him. It’s like he’s in treacle sometimes and is clunky on the ball. There were rumours in the summer he may leave and I hoped he would have to upgrade that position but here we are. He may improve as the season goes on, but we’ll see.

Yes I think Young has forced his way into starting next game, be silly not to play him and Cook after they were the only two that looked a threat for most the game. Angol played well as striker at end of last season but he looks lost on the left, Hughes loves him so he may even play him as the lone stiker over Cook and Oliver.

Think we’ll made some changes - if only for experimental purposes.

GK: Harry Lewis

RB: Brad Halliday
CB: Matty Platt
CB: Timi Odunsina
LB: Matty Foulds

CM: Ritchie Smallwood
CM: Yann Songo’o

RW: Kian Scales
CAM: Harry Chapman
LW: Jake Young

CF: Andy Cook

Tough game against a Champ side. Judging by their manager, they’ll be playing some of their fringe players - so we might stand a chance.

Score first and I think we’ll be alright. If we go behind, it could be a long night.

When did we last have some really decent fullbacks? We've had some real stinkers over the last few years: Chickensen, Threlkeld, Mellor...We deserve some luck! :(

Really like the idea of Scales being given a run out. Impressed me whenever I've seen him, albeit against fairly weak opposition. I'd actually rather give him game time than Gilliead.
