Aye, Hull look in decent nick.

Sunderland are a mess. QPR have had to get their shit together too in recent years since relegation. It's not always fairytale stuff.

I see you've fallen into the modern era fan, when I was a kid football was about winning trophies
Yeah maybe it was but it's not now. The League Cup isn't prestigious nowadays, Plymouth made 9 changes against us in midweek their fans had been hyping it up since the day of the draw.

Give me United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs home and away over the course of a season rather than playing Everton at Wembley in a league cup final.

Who wants to be in a league where the best place you'll finish is 8th?

Winning something, anything, has to be better than that.
I bet Leicester fans had exactly the same mentality when they were in this division....

The chances of that happening, and chances of happening again is so slim.

How many teams get promoted, fail to win anything, and come back down? Almost all of them..

so you'd rather spend 1 season in the PL than having 1 trophy on your clubs history for the rest of their existence?

So what? You made out the ceiling for any club outside of the big 7 is 8th and it's not true.

You've changed the terms. He said promotion to the Premier League, not getting up there and coming straight back down.

The league cup isn't prestigious, even fucking Swindon have won it before.

well this is what's wrong with football today then isn't it? teams like Swansea that have won fuck all in the game but delighted with finishing 16th because they get £110 million (what does that £110 million do for the fans?)

fuck that i'd rather win 3 more league cups than finish 15th or so in the PL

Swansea won the league cup to be fair. I couldn't agree with you more kev football is about winning trophies, I've never seen us do it nor has any man alive I wouldn't of thought and it would be the pinnacle of watching my football team. As you say what good is it for the fan finishing 16th in the prem every year. Jjh is sounding like everything that's wrong with football, creaming himself over the thought of playing man u and spurs.

Why what is so good about playing any of them, it's wank and most likely will lose every time

can't stand West Ham, so fed up about hearing how great they are and the FA bending over backwards for them whenever they feel like it

I mean tbh I do want to experience another PL season with Leeds, but it's been so long and changed so much I don't think i'd enjoy it one bit

realistically if we went up we'd be a run of the mill team fighting it out with Bournemouth and Watford for another season in the league losing more than winning, don't think i'd enjoy it one bit

blademan89 id rather win the cup, but in all honesty I think we have more chance of going up than winning the league cup. it doesn't seem logical as we have to play far more games to gain promotion than winning the cup. This season is huge for us and failing to go up could be devastating. Aslong as I knew we would go up in the next couple of seasons I'd pick the cup over promotion. Once in the prem we could hopefully challenge the top 6 again at somepoint and be in a better position to have a go at the cups. Reality is football has changed massively on and off the pitch.

To be fair there isn't much that tops beating one of the top teams in the prem when everybody writes you off. In our 3 years up there we beat all the so called big teams bar Arsenal. Winning 0-1 away at Tottenham with Kevin Doyle scoring was the best away day I've been to.

yeah but just seeing or listening to all the foreign fans that didn't even know who their team was 3 years ago, is so bad it makes me cry

how can anyone not know who your beloved clubs historic players were?

there's Chelsea fans on FB that don't even know who Dennis Wise or Glenn Hoddle are!

So to clarify, I'm everything that's wrong with football according to you and Kev because I'd rather see my team play at all these big grounds and against these massive clubs rather than see my team win at Wembley effectively which I've already witnessed?

Hardly nonsensical is it; I'm not saying I'd enjoy turning into a Stoke or a West Brom as two examples but the journey to the Premier League would be incredible, then once up there welcoming sides like United and Liverpool to Ashton Gate rather than Burton and Brentford.

its different for clubs like Bristol City, but believe me the novelty quickly wears thin.

not a great but as a Chelsea fan you'd expect to know who he was surely? he was their manager in the early years of the PL when they finished in the dizzy heights of 13th etc

He was superb at Spurs though. Yeah I remember him as manager of Chelsea.

yes I can imagine hence why I said I wouldn't want to become a Spurs or a Stoke, but I've never watched us play in the top flight or play against any big side due to our shite luck in the cup draws so I would love it for a couple of seasons.
