It's not a typical Friday though, it's a bank holiday so it's no different than a Saturday in effect. It's a good following, no need to bring any other club into it, leave it at that.

I've just remembered that today is the start of the school holidays. That explains the last few pages. I couldn't handle my drink when I was a school kid either.

The last time the club put on free coaches was back in 2013 away at Wycome. We sold 2,000 in three days.

I remember us doing it many many years ago at warford( sold out about 2.5k), reading(over 3k if i remember rightly) , and norwich(2k at that too). And if we were 2nd in the league, unbeaten all year too, there would quite easily be well over 2k. Same with you and coventry but so there should be as all 3 are bigger clubs than wigan its just these 2 are complete fools.

you give season tickets away for 6 pound a game now that is tinpot hahaha

8,000 home fans last Saturday; we averaged more the year we were relegated from the same league only a few years previous.

Tinpot....you were saying?

Nothing club.

Pissed myself laughing, I hate Sheffield United but they are much bigger than Wigan, Cov and Bford are also bigger. You just wrote off 110 years of history, to just include the last 15. By your reckoning Bournemouth are bigger than Leeds and Swfc. You may have a better team but no way are you, or will you ever be bigger than United. Stop trying to big Wigan up and enjoy the season. Your either on the wind up or more deluded than most Blades fans.

i will say it again 3 hour drive, game on sky friday night normal league match, there will be nearly 1400 by time people pay on the day...nobody on here would take that maybe 1...massive club carry on being haters i love it and i laugh at you all
On a normal Friday night Sheff Utd/Cov might do if they were doing well, other than that no I doubt anyone else would unless it was a promotion/play-off clinching game. This Friday though most people will be off work, and with free coaches as well I think even we'd manage similar if we were in your position.

That's not me knocking your support at all by the way, it's still a good following and a great initiative by the club to get good numbers to travel to a far-flung game.

Sorry to but in but , I'm sure that if one day Cov were genuinely going for the autos we would easily take more than Wigan would , irrespective of any distances involved and any night of the week, including Friday nights.
Obviously Sheff Utd have proved over many decades they are the biggest club in this league, but us and Bradford would beat Wigans effort anytime any place.
That's not being boastful it's based on facts and don't forget we still pull in great numbers and we are still officially the least successful club in all leagues over the last 45 years.
If Cov suddenly became successful God knows what are numbers would be.

30 years in the top flight in that time and an fa cup win compared to us who have had about 7 top flight seasons and no cup wins. Whos more successful?

A tweet I saw yesterday.

The last few pages have led me to ponder whether they have schools up North and if they do, does basic English actually feature on the curriculum?

I should hope youd shift that at an absolute minimum. Im expecting 2k tbh

Prepare to be very dissapointed, unfortunately our followings are still shit. Top of the league or bottom of the league we have a small core of fans, especially those who travel away. If it nudges 1,000 it will be about what I expected. We only took 800 to Chesterfield, slightly closer to home.

830 Scunthorpe at Barnsley which is quite good for them.

314 Crewe at Sheffield United.

As a neutral fan I would absolutely have Wigan at the bottom of that list.

Wigan only big because of Whelan. At least when we got of non league on a technicality like them, we did actually win the league we were in..... Interest rocketed as they won through the leagues and a fair few have stayed who weren't there initially

For a moment I took you semi seriously but after reading those fist two lines I seriuosly think your mentally retarded.
Sorry but you need help if you think Bloody Wigan are more famous than the three clubs you refer to.

Everyone I know when they think of Wigan think of a rugby league side with a smallish football league side, end of
