Strange quotes considering they took less than us to quite a few away games this season. Also only 1,500 to us, took 600 to Bradford and only 500 to Sheffield didn't they??

883 away fans in a massive game for them, not a million miles away?

How many did they take to Port Vale? As many as we did on a Friday night?

Decent support for their gates, but I think you are being a bit over complimentary there. A bit harsh on Bury too, we are having an awful season.

I think Bury and Oldham brought similar numbers. It's become an issue actually, away fans in this division rarely bring more than a few hundred and Blades fans have complained that they are crammed in to three sides whilst looking at an empty Bramall Lane end bar three hundred away fans. The Bramall Lane end holds about 6,000 so you can see the problem. To address this in the last 3 matches the Bramall Lane end lower tier has been allocated to home fans. I went in last week against Gillingham

With how long Sheff United have been in this division now, the allure of Bramall Lane isn't there anymore for away fans. It's not like when Southampton or Norwich were down here for a few years where it felt like going to a big club and facing a team that didn't belong. It's just like facing any old L1 club now.

Crammed into 3 sides? The Kop and John st has thousands of empty seats every week.

I knows, that's what I was thinking too.
Ground holds 32K, we get just over 20K every week.
So even with an empty away end there's still plenty of space in the home ends.

There's only been one match (Boxing Day) against Oldham when the home areas were getting close to full with only single seats and restricted view left.

Yep it was a bit of a bizarre statement. Huge 4 games coming up for us now , tough trip at pboro on Saturday followed by Bristol rovers away who have won 5 home games on the trot then the two hardest home games in the league in scunny and bolton. 7 points would be a fairly good return imo.

I think you're taking me too literally. The point was that you have a home crowd of around 19,500 + and 6,000 empty seats at the BL end, which is why the club changed and allowed home fans into the lower tier for 3 games. But you knew what point I was making anyway, but just trying to score points, for what reason I don't know

They are allowing home fans in the lower tier for safety reasons because I suspect there will be demand if promotion is on the cards at the end of the season so it's just to prove to the pathetic safety people that home and away fans can exit the same stand without incident.

Just seen we've given bolton 4400 tickets I'd be amazed if they sell half of that. So no home fans on the lower tier for that game then.

Surely they'll manage 3,000?

If Bolton struggle in their next 2 or 3 games I reckon they"ll bring 1,500 tops.

If they go on a good run and especially if they get a good result away to Bradford the week before then it may head towards 2,500.

But I'd be very surprised if they break 3,000.

Id be surprised if we didn't take 3,000 at least, it is a big game and we have a colourful history so alot of old boys will be on this one

Would agree normally but you have 2 big away matches in 7 days.
Some will choose one of the other but not afford to go to both.

I really thing alot depends on what you over the next 3 games especially the one at Bradford. You know what it's like, get a win away at Bradford and the Bramall Lane fixture will capture the imagination then you would break 3K.

Also a lot depends on what we do too. If us or Scunny slip up in the next 2 games then Bolton fans might still believe they have a realistic chance of top 2, then this game becomes massive.

Gary Madine will get a very hot reception. He's public enemy number 1 in the red half of the city and still a cult hero in the blue half when he scored a controversial late equaliser for Sheff Wed the other year. He bundled our keeper into the net Nat Lofthouse style, everyone assumed it was a foul on our keeper but the goal stood. He'll be booed every time the ball goes near him.

I think if we win our next 2 then both the Scunthorpe and bolton games will have 25k + crowds with the bolton one nearing 28k however our record against the 6 teams below us is not good reading so could be a couple of bad results coming up.

Simonsen wasn't bundled anywhere near the net, he lost the ball in flight, arguably the amount of protection keepers get it should have been called a foul but it wasn't.

Serious question - how do Oxford keep getting full allocations at Swindon? Always kicks off down there.

Despise that useless twat Simonsen he fucked up again 4 days later away at Preston, me and my pal got lobbed out for abusing the useless shithouse. We had been in Glasgow the night before watching rangers v liverpool in a friendly then had the full day on Wednesday in Blackpool before the match so it's safe to say we were slightly pissed. Got woke up by shred on the bus home at about 11pm in Glossop somewhere saying come on were stopping for a drink, good day all round I think we won 4-2 or 4-3 or summat like that. Happy days.

Ps. Fuck off simmo

There was 5 arrests with 3 being from Swindon* charged whilst one from Aylesbury and one from Abingdon being bailed pending further enquiries.

The local papers have sensationalist headlines about trouble yesterday but only 5 arrests being mentioned further down the article. Even a few policeman (from what I've read) escorting the Oxford fans from The Savoy (should have been The Merlin as it was in 2010 as The Savoy was not big enough) thought they took the wrong route ending up going by the Swindon idiots outside the home stand (allowing our idiots to respond) rather than going around the outside of the Magic Roundabout like 2010 when there was no trouble. This doesn't excuse the idiots from either side though. The Police Superintendent, Adrian Burt is also quoted in the paper articles as saying "there were no major incidents" .

*This doesn't include the 2 Swindon idiots who ran on the pitch and ended up pavement dancing. One gave us a moony then threw a stewards chair to the ground and the other failed to make it over a two foot advertising hoarding whilst giving it the big one.

Agree, but you lot ae more of a pull than Bradford, and we have already sold one tier and half the other for Bradford so hopefully we'll have two big followings. REgarding Gary Madine, he is a useless (use any expletive four letter word here), so it wont be just you lot giving him some abuse, the guy is robbing a living as a striker

No chance I suspect only you will bring that many this season.

Yeah, I believe the least we've brought in recent years was 2,700ish.

This year, I reckon we'll most probably sell out. I can go to this one too, so if you fancy that meet, why the hell not.

Surely our fixture should see your biggest crowd of the season - should be almost 30k there.

The OB were wearing body cams, I'll be very surprised if the eventual arrest count stops at five! Papers always sensationalise football violence, but yesterday there were occasions when the police lost control of the situation especially when Oxford fans broke through the escort to get at Swindon fans. We're talking about a lot of people involved in a number of incidents and once they've studied all of their footage I suspect a fair few doors will be going in.

Just seen scunny have sold 2150 out of 2300 allocation for they're trip to bramall lane which is pretty impressive imo for scunny. Not sure they will get any more tickets as they refused to give us the side bit this year at they're place.
