We had a restricted allocation due to persistent standing at games, it was our first away game of the season so would have sold out any road.

Strange as you say that it was as low.

What's even more stranger is you had a reduced allocation in a standing terrace for standing. But like you say there must of been a reason if it was your 1st away game. I never had the pleasure of that terrace unfortunately but it looked a cracking away end.

We sold 4,840 last time we played at Posh, it was the last away game of the 2012/13 and relegation was possible for both.
Lost 1-0 to a fantastic freekick (Mccann?). Loads in fancy dress, top day out despite the result. Posh went down after losing last match at Palace, though they had a celebratory "staying up" pitch invasion after beating us if my memory serves right

McCann scored a wonder free kick. We went down after losing at Palace and Huddersfield and Barnsley "refusing to play" as they were both safe. :lac: Typical horrible northern cheating. :fish:

We have had probably 3 decent seasons in the last 20 - all of which spent in L1 - and after all that time, playing a whole host of teams over and over again, and now this season having to cope with the worst goal scoring record in the entire football league, an average of 700 is more than respectable, and I'd say decent.

Even just a couple of top half finishes in succession would probably bring that up another 100 or so. A promotion challenging campaign and it would go up further.

I didn't for one second think you were being entirely serious when you said ours was better than Bury & Rochdale's put together - I saw it as a throw away comment - but it's still considerably better than both I'd say and that's despite both Bury and Rochdale enjoying their highest league placings for some years.

Current averages. Bury and rochdale added together are 7 people in front of you on your own so I wasn't far off mate.

Thinking about it, we are pretty much done this season in terms of numbers. That number will only go down, so all depends on whether there's goes up.

Swindon (250ish)
Northampton (250ish)
Walsall (600ish)
Peterborough (480ish)
Southend (200ish)
Bristol Rovers (350ish)
Wimbledon (800ish)

We've received the maximum amount of 1,430 for Northampton. Is that right cobblers fans? No chance of any more?

Yeah Northampton's the most impressive for me, with Oxford just behind.

Bristol Rovers to be averaging close to 1000 is very laudable too, given their location vs the rest of the league.

Be interesting see if either of those 3 can repeat that next season once the novelty of a promotion campaign has worn off. If I remember rightly, Southend's were impressive last season but seem to have nosedived this season.

Will you need more?

I think we should sell that comfortably.

We've not played there since 1988 and you have to go back to 1964 for the last time we played there on a Saturday so will be a new ground for most and only a couple of hours away.

Ours has held up well, despite some on here saying it would nose tail after the earlier games. We've also had a lot of cup games (13 so far, with at least another 2 to come) which hits some people in the pocket, and pretty much been mid table all season.

It's a shame Charlton has been moved to a midweek, as that would have been a very large following on a Saturday, but I'd expect the average to be the same or slightly higher at the end of the season, depending on how things go on the field.

I think it's a fair point about second season syndrome, but our away support has generally been very good (averaging over 1,000 away in the Conference for instance) so I don't think it will be that much different. Anyway, we'll be at the top of the league all of next season, so it may go up ;-)

Charlton have just announced free coach travel for their trip to Sixfields, so they should definitely sell out now

Just seen that, think we would sell out anyway but that pretty much confirms it.

I already know a large group going up by train and plans are in motion for a boozy coach.

Only confirmed figure I have is 1,844 in the 2004/05 season.

Seem to remember them not filling the upper in the Prem.

2001/02 was on a Monday on Sky and they had circa 1,500 and similar amount the season after.

2001/02
Sheff Wed v Bradford 1715 away fans
Bradford v Sheff Wed 2756 away fans

Those are the only other ones that I've got for this fixture.

Very decent from Scunny.

Our following are a shambles this year but are expected to go up with a few more closer games coming up
