Just seen scunny have sold 2150 out of 2300 allocation for they're trip to bramall lane which is pretty impressive imo for scunny. Not sure they will get any more tickets as they refused to give us the side bit this year at they're place.

Surely money is more important than some petty squabble the two clubs have going on.

My balls will always be bigger than yours. But anyway, awaiting clearance at work - and yes, Bank Holiday Monday shanagigans.
Get a woman and get em emptied then!! Could be wrong but I never remember you lot bringing many to Hillsborough in the past. Sure you or Walkley will correct me if I'm wrong though, you seem to have had good numbers the last few seasons, is this just a recent thing or did I just not notice it previously?

Would agree normally but you have 2 big away matches in 7 days.
Some will choose one of the other but not afford to go to both.

I really thing alot depends on what you over the next 3 games especially the one at Bradford. You know what it's like, get a win away at Bradford and the Bramall Lane fixture will capture the imagination then you would break 3K.

Also a lot depends on what we do too. If us or Scunny slip up in the next 2 games then Bolton fans might still believe they have a realistic chance of top 2, then this game becomes massive.

Gary Madine will get a very hot reception. He's public enemy number 1 in the red half of the city and still a cult hero in the blue half when he scored a controversial late equaliser for Sheff Wed the other year. He bundled our keeper into the net Nat Lofthouse style, everyone assumed it was a foul on our keeper but the goal stood. He'll be booed every time the ball goes near him.
Madine isn't a cult hero in the blue 2/3, he only ever had a good 3 month when he was scoring (including that goal at your place) other than that he was he was crap, although a small (moronic) percentage of our fan Base still like him and childishly voted for him as league 1 potm just to stop Sharp getting it. The vast majority realise he was a poor player who just had a short period where he scored regularly. He ought to do a Woodhouse and switch to boxing, as apparently he is quite handy with his fists.

Only confirmed figure I have is 1,844 in the 2004/05 season.

Seem to remember them not filling the upper in the Prem.

2001/02 was on a Monday on Sky and they had circa 1,500 and similar amount the season after.

'Bit before my time, tbh. The last time we played you in the league was around 2005. I was 14 at the time.

Our support has improved with success and cheaper tickets, as with most clubs, we're no different.

We were reasonably supported between 96-01, then the downfall started. Three relegation and two admins in 6 years took its role. 4 seasons of not competing in the bottom division, then we turned a corner.

I wouldn't say our support was impressive, just ok given our fan base.

Your supports wank then if you have 2/3rds of the city supporting you.

LOL, only joking mate, it's seriously about 55% of the Cities footballing public though. Serious question how many do you think you will take to Mk for your last away match? Genuinely see it being this seasons largest league following for any match in any division. 5 years later than you lot thought but can see a massive promotion party that day.

209 Oldham at MK Dons.

That's now MK (Tuesday), Fleetwood, Port Vale (Friday), Gillingham, Rochdale amongst others that we've took more to than Oldham.

According to Blademan we can't manage half away of what Oldham get though, and they would average 1k if they were doing well

There must be others too that I can't think of.

It's been impressive numbers wise all 3 times at the lane in recent years.

Long long way to go to be even thinking about that. But should it be a match to gain promotion then whatever they give us up to 10k if we got it.

They would do I'm sure they've averaged 700+ in recent seasons when not doing well.

Not hard really when you have Dale, Bolton, Bury, Wigan etc on your doorstep is it?

It another way of looking at it.. what was Bury's average compared to Oldhams last season? Was it double? Is it double of what Bury and Rochdale had combined as you claimed?

Maybe I was wrong then but they definitely seem to have travelled well in general over the last 5 years and never do well

We have had probably 3 decent seasons in the last 20 - all of which spent in L1 - and after all that time, playing a whole host of teams over and over again, and now this season having to cope with the worst goal scoring record in the entire football league, an average of 700 is more than respectable, and I'd say decent.

Even just a couple of top half finishes in succession would probably bring that up another 100 or so. A promotion challenging campaign and it would go up further.

I didn't for one second think you were being entirely serious when you said ours was better than Bury & Rochdale's put together - I saw it as a throw away comment - but it's still considerably better than both I'd say and that's despite both Bury and Rochdale enjoying their highest league placings for some years.

No, it's shite. Then again, its a direct reflection of the attitude we as a fanbase have on MK Dons. There's plenty of Latics regulars who refuse to spend a penny on this particular away game, so probably not the best example to use.

This topic also seems to get your back up a bit, which is quite ironic given that you take every opportunity possible to laugh at Rochdale for their away numbers.

Don't worry yourself about it so much.

Your away following isn't considerably better than ours.. we still have Bolton and Oldham away, we shall review the averages at the end of the season. Think we averaged about 100 less than you last season..

We aren't really enjoying our "highest league placing" either.. we've finished 16th last season and are on course to be relegated this season. Before that it was league Two but we have spent considerable time playing in the 2nd and 3rd tier, and play the same teams on as much a regular basis as Oldham.. the crewes, Port Vales, Scunthorpes and Chesterfields.

Amazing how attendances get your back up so much.

We always lose at MK. I take it as a victory that we didn't get utterly trounced like usual.
Massive result for us that. Was only half joking anyway I don't take myself too seriously. Even we beat MK Dons

Another increase for saturday taking it to 4193 not a too shabby following. Probably be a standard defeat without scoring like when we normally take big followings

They'd of sold out too for sure if they were top tbf. I like Peterborough too for a drink so should be a good day out.

I'd get here early because our plod can get rather excitable when a club brings more than 50 away supporters.

We sold 4,840 last time we played at Posh, it was the last away game of the 2012/13 and relegation was possible for both.

I'm sure you brought 3800ish to us once. I thought it was that season and you played in yellow. You love a stat more than I do. :fl:

Nah I've just done the averages and had the spreadsheet open

Worse than that we took 1,364 on a midweek under Irvine!

That 3,800 was actually 2,800, was early in 2009/10 season and again was a sell out.

2800 a sell out, was a standing terrace then wasn't it surely held more?

We had a restricted allocation due to persistent standing at games, it was our first away game of the season so would have sold out any road.

Strange as you say that it was as low.
