I like Leopold Square to be honest, it's a little different to most of the other bars, Browns in the summer when the sun is out and the peace gardens are packed is sufuckingperb for women.

Bet tha never gets anywhere with em though :2thumb:

I find it insulting that you say it's not a place to live just exist.

Maybe MK doesn't suit your needs/priorities. Having lived in MK all my life and visited places my family have lived (Wigan, Chorley, Bolton) even down south in Fulham. I know where I prefer. Maybe because I don't like nights out and drinking. MK isn't really the place for that.

But it is definitely a place to live.

There's a lack of history to the place as well, I know that sounds a bit strange but it just feels all too new to get comfortable in, there's no quirks to it, just straight lines, it doesn't really cater well for night outs or drinking as you say but the Hub isn't bad and you have some Theatre district, although i find that odd as there is more culture in the yoghurt in my fridge than MK :D (i'm joking)

I think you've just got really shit night out taste buddy.
Or Chesterfield is just a rundown shithole that I wouldn't want to visit again - could be that.

2 years ago I went, Walkley said it was better before, and it may have been, but from my experience I'd never want to go for another nightout in Chesterfield, and after the game on Saturday I'll be going elsewhere to drink.

I think there's history if you know where to look... But I take it you won't allow Bletchley Park?

Agree with liverpool and i also think leeds is decent too. For some reason im in a minority about manchester i think its shit always have done everythings way too spread out imo

I spend a lot of time in Manchester and i'm a big fan of the place, got quite a few friends there, agree about it being spread out though, that's definitely its main flaw. You've got to pick an area and stick to it really or else you'll be forking out for taxis.

Leeds is a quality city for drinking, miles better than Birmingham imo.

Haven't spent loads of time in Sheffield but as a city it's in a different league to Milton Keynes.

Manchester and Liverpool are better than all of them though.

Can't comment on Liverpool, last time I spent any sort of time there (with a scouse lass i was with) I got threatened to be glassed cos of my Sheffield accent.

Manchester is superb, Northern Quarter or Deansgate are well worthy of a few slurps

Speaking seriously for a minute, unless you're partying in an absolute shithole with no decent bars/clubs I can't fathom how people have bad nights out. If you've got good company and alcohol what's the problem? It's probably more you going wrong than the actual place you're situated in.
I'd never call it 'a bad night out' but I know I'd rather be in places more appealing.

As you said, it's hard to have a bad night out, but there are better places than others.

Like I said before - if I were from Chesterfield, Sheffield would be fucking quality, but I'm not - I haven't been brought up in a shithole like Chesterfield, so I'll be glad to stay well away of 'it'.

Aye, I love Northern Quarter, always something going on

Never really seen any bother in Liverpool, definitely plenty of nob heads knocking about but no more than any other big city.

I found with Liverpool it's no different than any other City, including Bristol which I obviously know well.

There's always a few bellends after a night on the piss, and the more people there are, the more of them, but if you don't go looking for any trouble you generally won't find any to be honest.

I don't think i'll ever get the fascination of Blackpool as a night out, other than reputation, it's no better than Preston or Wigan

Iv'e said before blackpool in the summer for a day out is top class boozers absolutely heaving at 12 in the afternoon brilliant. But apart from that its shit at night and the place itself well i don't really need to comment on that. Preston seems to of gone for the wine bar type places of late there seems to be loads now am i right in thinking that?

Nah I'm pretty sure Sheffield being a decent night out isn't just applicable for people from Chesterfield. Maybe you didn't know where to go or maybe you and your mates are just a bunch of incredibly boring bastards - who knows, eh?

Think it's more the day/weekend at Blackpool people rave on about, I know a load of City fans who went up to Fleetwood earlier this season and then went onto Blackpool and said how rundown and how much worse it's got recently.

Maybe I didn't know where to go then - but seeing as I've done 2 nights out up there in different places and admittedly didn't hate the place, but have done far better, I doubt that's the case.

And as for my mates - I've done plenty of enjoyable nights around the country with the same lot I go to every away game with, so it doesn't really work either.

North or South England?

(I reckon the northern bunch will get very defensive over their end of the country compared to the Southerners)

Bristol is a cracking night as is Plymouth, not overly keen on the likes of Brighton or Bournemouth, I like Cardiff too.

Up here, rate Leeds, York, Manchester and Newcastle as the stand outs.

Wouldn't touch MK, Coventry but Brum not bad.

I like London too if you know where you're going.

Yeah, quite a lot of fairly expensive wine and cocktail bars have opened up in the last 4 or 5 years. Some of the pubs have gone the up-market route as well, definitely lacking in actual clubs.....although we've still got some proper dives left.

Seems to try and cater for an older crowd these days, midweek-student nights seem like they've gone to shit.

The only shit nights out I've had have been with my missus cos I can't graft on other women when she's out with me

London is GOAT English night out for me. Go there at least twice a season and it's always boss.
