Bristol is a cracking night as is Plymouth, not overly keen on the likes of Brighton or Bournemouth, I like Cardiff too.

Up here, rate Leeds, York, Manchester and Newcastle as the stand outs.

Wouldn't touch MK, Coventry but Brum not bad.

I like London too if you know where you're going.

Birmingham city centre is great, but most of the outskirts are vile. Fortunately most don't have to visit them. As for Coventry, it's better than Wolverhampton and Stoke, but I understand why people don't see it as appealing, despite its improvements over the last 10 years (most of which down to the Ricoh, surprisingly).

The only shit nights out I've had have been with my missus cos I can't graft on other women when she's out with me

London is GOAT English night out for me. Go there at least twice a season and it's always boss.

I'm going to tell her that.

Liked both Inner Brum and Wolves - both very similar.

Plymouth is probably the only place South of Bristol that is a decent night out.

Brighton was pretty gay, but Bournemouth was alright - better place in the day like Blackpool although.

North or South England?

(I reckon the northern bunch will get very defensive over their end of the country compared to the Southerners)

Nights out iv'e had down south that i can think of.

Plymouth 3 tmes - awesome
Torquay - decent
Exeter - decent
Ipswich- good anyway but made fucking brilliant by a certain event that occured that weekend walkley will tell you what it was
Portsmouth - wank
Bristol 2 times - brilliant
London many times - brilliant
Southampton 2 times - good
Bournemouth - decent
Luton - fucking awful

Up north.

Newcastle - good
Liverpool - awesome
Leeds - decent
Chesterfield - was good not really no more
Barnsley - top drawer
Doncaster - wank
Rotherham - wank
Whitby - good
Preston - steady
Blackpool - daytime awesome nightime shit
Manchester - wank
Whitley bay - awesome (bank holiday monday) anyone whos been will know what i mean.

There may be more places but off the top of my head i cant think of them. So on those places the south is the winner for me. Shame really we need to get our act together up here

I do like the way the football stadium is linked within the city centre, but it can be a bit dodgy on a night out.

Iv'e said before blackpool in the summer for a day out is top class boozers absolutely heaving at 12 in the afternoon brilliant. But apart from that its shit at night and the place itself well i don't really need to comment on that. Preston seems to of gone for the wine bar type places of late there seems to be loads now am i right in thinking that?

Also, I agree about shitpool for day time drinking, i'll give it it's dues when the sun is out.

You pay for what you get. London will cost you 10x what a night out would anywhere north of Milton Keynes. A night out can be made better on how much you get for your money.

Chesterfield is pretty shite for nightlife/clubbing scene. Full of idiots. When If rist started going about 6/7 years ago it was pretty good and plenty of choice, not now.

Plenty of cracking pubs and bars about if you avoid the town centre mind.

White Lion is about the only decent pub in town centre.

Had a few cracking weekends away watching us though, some shockers too but its all part of the fun!

Chesterfield have been given 3000 tickets for the last match. Should be enough id of thought they will be on the upper and the lower the same as bradford the other day.

3000 on lower and upper tier? Seems odd - doesn't the lower tier hold that alone?

I think they'll sell out easily.

Yes but they block hundreds off these days. Its both tiers same as barnsley and bradford

Weird. It annoys me that we give up the front row of either end - that would do my head in when good money is being potentially turned away.

The annoying thing is for the odd game that sells out not very often but theres over 2000 seats that are blocked off its a fucking joke. When we were in the prem there was none blocked off and rightly so there is no reason for it

I'm so gutted about the allocation. Of course priority goes to ST holders, and the only reason I haven't got one is because I didn't know how my job would affect my attendance.
Just counted that, including cups, I've been to 12 away games, and that Bristol will be my 20th home match. So ironically, i'll have maybe been to more games this season than some of the ST holders that get a ticket. But that's life, I know the system, it's just gutting.
So.. What's the most family friendly stand at Bramall Lane for a quiet Spireite to possibly sit on his hands?

Didn't Spurs have the full allocation?

It's illogical to me but I'm not bothered - I'll be there either way.

If you sell them you will get more tickets at least another thousand. Possibly more rotherham had 5k last year. If you go in our end sit on the h block of the south stand no issues in there

That's what my mate said, maybe i'm just panicking. We've got 4,500 ST holders, it's our last away game of the season, and it's our most local. 3,000 should go in a flash. Would your home attendance allow for us to have up to 5k? I know it's not an amazingly attractive game to get the punters in.

They had 5.5k the end including the corner holds over 7k. For some reason they now block over 500 seats in the lower tier for no apparent reason. And nobody was sat in the corner they block that off entirely too fuck knows why its segragated underneath so would only need a line of stewards/coppers between the fans in the stand its not fucking rocket science. But remember we are talking about syp here. Bramall lane and hillsborough block more seats off than any other ground in the country despite the fact fans are on completely different stands

Yes our home attendance wont be any higher than normal. All down to the useless c*** in charge

What was the difference with Spurs?

South Yorkshire Police are a law unto themselves that's for sure - I'd never seen anything like the fold out metal road block they had at Barnsley.

The stupid thing was there was a fucking door in it you could just stroll straight through.

Spurs had to be given a minimum of 4k. Then when we didnt sell out very quickly we gave them another 1.5k which means our fans cant sit in the corner bit so it all just gets blocked off. Its a joke

I was being exaggerate. I couldn't manage a night out in central London on 200 quid, especially if you stayed over.

Why not? Hotel for 70 quid leaves 130 beer, taxi and kebab cash. I did two nights on the opening weekend of this season for 275.

Depends where you stay. I stayed in a bloody Premier Inn costing £110 a night, each person, at London Bridge last year.

£275 would go a lot further even in Manchester.
