We are the only club in the country that has a capacity of just short of 40k, but can only sell just over 30k seats. We have an away end that holds 8k (including triangle) but can only sell 4.5k, now reduced to 3.2k, we have a moat, snipers and that doll off the Squid Games between supporters.....

This happens at grounds up and down the country on a weekly basis. Hardly unique to the top tier of the Leppings Lane
That was at Southampton. Much more dangerous than some supporters having to wait a minute to get to their seats, as happened at Hillsborough.

We are in a similar boat, Vale Park holds 19052 (excluding the new half of Lorne Street as that isn't complete internally yet).

We can only sell certain % in some stands due to health and safety (toilets I believe part of it).

In fairness we had 3200 or something at Hillsborough in that top tier and it was absolutely rammed in the concourse which is quite tight, especially because the catering facilities cause a bottle neck in the centre due to queuing to get through. There was empty seats so obviously holds more and assume its limited like ours due to that?

Not really sure what SWFC can do with that though as its not like you can widen it.

That said even new grounds aren't perfect, when Burton first came up we had a situation in their away end where our fans ended up spilling onto the pitch, they watched a period of the first half literally stood behind the goal on the pitch whilst they moved some of the home fans along to put them in there!

It always seems odd we are limited with the wide open spaces of Vale Park (the railway stand is all outdoor concourses! yet the away end down the side at Crewe which we always sell out ends up with fans stood on the stairs and you have one smallish toilet and one exit from the stand to get to that toilet!

The Derby fans did similar at ours earlier this season from the pictures I saw. It happens.
It does, so does queuing to get to your seat (at every ground in the country), but if it happens at Hillsborough it's front page news - even when it has been proven that no incident actually took place - yet another reduced capacity is our punishment - even another 1k tickets at £28 a ticket has cost us nearly 30k and for what?

Apologies RO I misunderstood your point. We both agree that for some reason Hillsborough has been singled out for acts which happen frequently across the country. Sad that both Argyle and Wednesday lose out from this

The only crumb of comfort is it isn't your die hard Argyle away fans missing out more the one game a season bunch.

No worries Plymouth Casual - yeah it's wrong, it's denying more Plymouth fans seeing a potential season defining moment (maybe a bit early for that - but you know what I mean) and Wednesday miss out on a decent wedge.

Yep us as well last season when we got an injury time winner at Notts County (Not the crazy play off game this was in the league game).

Got about 40 tickets remaining for Shrewsbury so that’ll probably be sold out from tomorrow.

Perhaps it’s been like it for many years and I’m only noticing it this season because of this thread but the actual away support in League 1 this year is absolutely ridiculous. Third tier football and loads of clubs taking decent numbers up and down the country. It’s great to see really.

Something proper about going around the country watching your team. All for those late winners and taking the three points back home. Those premier league sky sports only supporters could never understand.

Nowt wrong with Hillsborough, the issue there AGAIN was fans turning up very late to get in and then pushing to get to the seats, you get in at a decent time, there's plenty of leg room to get around, and it definitely isn't the steepest of away ends, but because of the unfortunate history, it makes headline news....not that I read or listen to what the press has to say
