Hopefully Millwall go up, I have no intentions of visiting The Den and Barnsley is one of the better aways with it being close to the City centre

Conversely i hope Barsley go up as I have no intentions of visiting Oakwell and Millwall is one of the better aways with it being in London.

Barnsley is a good away day in his defence. Obviously it's no London, but as a football town it's pretty ideal with stadium 5 minute walk from train station and town centre with plenty of pubs and places to eat.

Please don't take offence Craig, I am sure Barnsley is a great away day and you have a decent stadium and reasonable support etc however I am quite lazy and I think the most north I have travelled to watch Swindon is Crewe! That said, you can't beat a stadium close to the train station and town centre versus a new stadium, miles away from the centre and a pig to get to.

Any real ale pubs near the ground Craig? (I'm getting on a bit you see!)

None taken AS, I'm in agreement that London is a better away day obviously. No real ale pubs in the immediate vicinity of the ground, but a couple in town.

I haven't been to Oakwell in 25 years, so my memories of Barnsley are vague to say the least. All I remember is Alex Rae scoring and winning 2-0 whilst being stood on a lovely big open terrace behind the goal.

RefWatch; Ref for Millwall v Barnsley is Stuart Attwell, 33, from Nuneaton. Was youngest ever Prem ref at age of 25 in '08, but was demoted in '12 after some high profile disasters (including Readings 'Phantom Goal') & mainly does Championship & L1 games these days. Consensus is that he loses control easily, is inconsistent, lacks authority and has poor judgement, but he's Mike Riley's golden boy so he keeps getting high profile games.
Reffed Millwall 10 times (W3, D2, L5), with the last 3 being defeats; 2-1 away to Leeds in March '14 (3Y); 1-0 home loss to Bolton in Dec '14 (5Y) & 2-0 home loss to Oxford in the Paint in Jan '16 (2Y). Reffed Barnsley 6 times (1W, 5L), most recently the 2-0 away loss to Scunny in Oct '15. In 43 games last season he has gave 116 Y & 4 R - average.
AnagramWatch; Stuart Attwell = U Sell Tart Twat.

I'm getting quite nervous now. Wasn't massively fussed but the closer we get the more excited I get.

I think if both teams are allowed to play and they both perform to their best then Barnsley will win.

However I believe that Millwall are more physical and if they use the right tactics and stop Barnsley from playing their game then they have a good chance.

Personally I want Millwall to win.

Simply because I'd rather Sheff Utd have a local derby with 2,500 Barnsley fans than play Millwall with more police on the away end than fans. However must admit Millwall brought respectable numbers and made some good noise at BL last season.

Football is a game mostly played off the ball. I think we're as organised and, man-for-man, possess as much footballing intelligence as any other side in this league. So if both sides play to their potential then it's bound to be a cracker. Expecting it to be cagey, with neither side committing too much until late on. Morison will be big for us. If we're to do anything, he'll have some hand in it. He's been magnificent this season: looks every inch a player who once graced the Premier League.

Oh and to reiterate my initial disclaimer: this is only a little more than a jolly for me. I don't expect us to win. I expect Barnsley will beat us. I won't be overly disappointed by defeat. I eagerly anticipate next season, whatever league we're in. Craig is a backstabber, don't trust him. The Loutbox is a lie. Carel is a charlatan.

Aye, near enough where I was for JPT, behind goal in cheap seats.

Looking forward to this one.

Weirdly, we played five of the six play-off finalists last season. Plymouth and Wimbledon in the League, Wednesday in the League Cup, Barnsley and Millwall in the JPT, so I've a bit more of an interest in the finals this year. Plus, two of them directly affect who we play next year.

Over the games against us, I'd say Barnsley looked slightly the better of the two, and I'd probably prefer them to go up, so that we can resume hostilities and have two edgy games against Millwall, which is one of the things missing in many of the games in League Two.

Barnsley for me the much better footballing side of the 2 just hope the ref gets a grip of Millwalls physical game early on so they don't bully there way to victory....Come on you reds!!!

Some of the comments in this thread make me wonder why Barnsley didn't win the league by 10 points.

Its got to be Millwall for me based on their games against us. Barnsley have done minor miracles to turn their season around, but just didn't impress me that much.

Seriously. I'm still not expecting to win. but the comments about Barnsley just having to show up are laughable.

Would like Millwall to go up, can't remember the last time we played them. So I had a little gander and it was back in 1999 in the FA Cup. Then I looked at the last time we actually beat them, turns out it was the day I was born!

This is a sign that we'll beat Barnsley in the play offs next season ;)

Not at all its double there normal home crowds

I expected them to sell at least 25k.

The double the home crowd theory is nonsensical. It's not unusual to take more fans to Wembley than what you'd average at home.

They probably would have done had the season started in November.

Btw, Oakwell is 5 minutes from the RAILWAY station, and I hope they win.

The two visits in as many months is no excuse either. We managed 33,500 in Feb 2013, and two month later took 26,000 for the play-off final as a L2 club.
