If we beat Scunthorpe Tuesday that would be us about safe on 52 points I would imagine based on other teams run ins.

Don't think we're quite done yet, got one of the best run-ins on paper with two, arguably three, nothings-to-play-for in Barnsley (h, tues), Donny (h) and Gills (a, last day) and Crawley away. Also Preston at home - probably write that one off. A win and two draws from that *might* be enough, on GD, especially if the win is against Crawley.

Having said that, our last four (v Scunny, Walsall, Cov and Yeovil) have all been 'must win' to some, and we've won none of em.

One bright spark is at least the new manager seems willing to gamble to try to get a result, taking off CB Hollis for Campbell-Ryce at half-time yesterday, resulting in much better performance.

Agree, the very fact we are still in with a chance of staying up shows how bad the league is

Its certainly not a foregone conclusion for either you or Colchester yet, just my opinion that both Colchester and Notts County will go down now.

Still a long way to go. Disappointing to lose yesterday, but still just one result away from getting our heads back above water. The most disappointing thing yesterday was the manner of the performance, but if we can bounce back quickly then it's still all to play for.

The odds are against us though, of course.

Sums us up to the tee that we've taken 13 points from the teams currently in the play-offs and only 11 from the bottom 4.

That should see us safe then. 5 goals in 1 game...Bradshaw scored non of them. This is an unheard of miracle.

Should of been safe but now still in it! A win from 3 required!

This is exciting.

I think Crewe, Notts and MK will all win on Saturday. Then Orient will troll us all by winning their game in hand.

That wouldn't be the worst outcome though as that would mean our game at Coventry is [probably] huge for both sides. In which case we'll beat them at a canter, cos that's how we roll at the Ricoh.

Basically, I haven't a fucking clue what's going to happen.

Cheerio boys its been a fun 9 seasons! :2thumb: Our run in is far far too difficult for our manager and players, dropped 4 points in the last 2 games. See you in the Conference this time next year :ds:

We have an 'easier' run in apart from Preston.

This is horrible.

Leyton Orient are in the brown stuff (even more so that they were) wouldn't be surprised if they didn't win again this season.

I'd put my money on 4 of the bottom 5 now, I'd already written off Colchester but surely tonight will knock the stuffing out of them and also a damaging defeat for Crawley. Notts County will continue to struggle as they can only draw games at the moment but that could be enough if Orient lose difficult games and Crawley can't pick up the needed points.

Our goal difference could be our saving grace. Apart from Orient we are significantly better off than the rest... Fuck knows how.

We nearly made Colchester's goalie cry. They're gone.

We're so annoying. We could so easily be out of this.

We had 21 shots tonight, which is pretty much two months' worth for us. Completely dominated possession in both games under Moniz too, he's having an effect but can't physically kick the ball into the goal for them.

Crawley away on Saturday is your stereotypical six pointer. Loser is probably done.

I thought joejoejoe that we sounded pretty impressive on the skyblue wall.
We had 70% possession with loads of shots on target , we just don't have any one to stick in the the net.

Thank the Lord we sacked that Scottish clown just in time, if he was still here we would be gone already.

I am confident if TM stays we could have a fantastic season next year once he has sorted the chaff from the wheat and then brought in his type of players. I'm going for us to be promoted next season if he stays

The game in general was pretty poor and we weren't great. We were all over Oldham without really creating any clear cut chances. Our lack of a good striker(s) is what is costing us in these games.

I'd go along with that, you waited too long to sack Derry and then dicked about with Hart too long. Takes a while to turn around a team, one poor match and it could be lights out.

Hart was a fucking disaster but we would've had Moniz two games earlier if not for him having to sort out his family stuff. I suspect we'd have beaten either yourselves or Walsall with a more positive attitude in two 0-0 draws that were completely there for the taking, but c'est la vie.

I can't see us winning Saturday away at Bristol, so we are far from out of it.

Orient's run in is fairly horrific, thought all through the season they'd get out of it but they really need the players to prove their worth and show the ability that they undoubtedly have if they want to survive now. Colchester are gone for me after that, morale of the players must be absolutely drained.

Goodbye.

Tonight was embarrassing. I think I accepted relegation as finally confirmed at about 8.15pm tonight, we have gone back to being so bad again. Abysmal. Inept. Whatever you want to describe it as, will be perfectly fitting.

:( WABLO brother be strong.

I wish I could, but it's over. League Two is offering me a lovely time, they're making it sound really appealing. I want to try new things, discover myself.

Well, still tighter than a nun's....erm yeah, you know I mean...down there. Yeovil were relegated on Saturday, so their win over Sheff U was meaningless. Mad to think that the last time Yeovil met Sheff U in League One 2 years ago, they won 2-0 and went to Wembley on their way to the Championship. This time, it was a nothing game on their way to League Two. How things change. Colchester could be following them pretty quickly judging by tonights 6-0 hammering at Chesterfield. You feel if they don't win on Saturday, that could be that for them. Crawley are another who have seen their fortunes quickly turn around. After 4 points from the Easter period put them in a good position, they emerged from 2 winnable away games at Scunny and Walsall with 0 points, 1 goal and 7 conceded. Awful return for them. A must win on Saturday at home to County? As for County, they can't buy a win but have drawn their last 5. They've had some winnable games too amongst that lot. However, how much will that late equaliser tonight give them a boost ahead of the Crawley game? Winner fights on for another week, loser probably down?

Leyton Orient are also doing their best to get relegated, a poor home defeat to Donny a complete contrast to the effort they showed in the second half on Saturday. Their last 4 fixtures look grim, although Rochdale away is winnable given how they realistically have nothing to play for now. I don't see them going down still, hopefully they can prove me wrong. We grabbed 2 points from 2 tricky games in Orient and Posh. We now are playing 3 teams who are hopefully on the beach already. I think 4 points(52 points) might be enough to stay up, but the concern is we don't look like winning at the moment. A win on Saturday and thinks look up big time. The Vale have reached 50 and in most other seasons, you'd think that was good enough for survival, but not this year. Still, if they can somehow get something out of Preston, they have Yeovil after that. They really should stay up from their current position. Scunny and Coventry are past 50 points and still not safe. Although with both teams showing improvement over the last couple of weeks, they will probably secure survival in their last 3/4.

Big worry from my point of view is those games in hand Orient and Notts C hold. Ok, Countys is against Preston, but Orients at Rochdale is decidedly winnable for Orient. Colchester could be gone if they don't win on Saturday. We need a win but don't look like getting one at the moment.

Not saying much, but Col U will probably go down with Yeovil. Then its any 2 from 4 I think, can see the Vale and the 2 above them getting to safety before the season ends.
