Grimsby had to win - they would have lost the likes of McAtee if they stayed down.

I hope you mean Salford and Harrogate...... (Sutton are a proper team)
Pretty much would add 1 or 2 more to the list (crawley and fleetwood)

1 . Gillingham

Nothing else matters

Realistically we should challenge for top 7, with Neil Harris in charge I expect us to challenge

Think Grimsby deserved to win promotion overall, winning at Notts, Wrexham and now London. Coming from behind 4 times in the process.
Commiserations to Solihull who played their part in a thoroughly entertaining final and who I thought would go on and win the game.

I think they lost both games to Solihull in the regular season .

Congrats Grimsby on coming straight back - not many have been able to do that!

Solihull will have to rejoin the arms race to get out of the NL, by plowing yet more money into their squad no doubt.

it’s a shame again if their fans aren’t about as they had quite a few - SOC, lew etc.

Looking at L2 now it’s completed the harder part to pick is the potential strugglers I feel. This time there’s no real basket-case type clubs to choose from. Harrogate I feel have been lower-mid table since coming into the league and if don’t try and improve I could see them in trouble. Grimsby will struggle I expect but then there’s never been a team to drop first time of asking since coming up.

At the top end I reckon Mansfield are my favourites. Don’t see any hangover from the playoff final and Clough is far too good a manager to let that happen. Tranmere and Stockport should be strong as well as Northampton and maybe Swindon. Will wait and see with Bradford as I like what they’ve done in terms of business but they get favoured every year so will wait and see if they deliver.

Well we've just been taken over by yanks worth 12 billion apparently come out of the blue that.
By a company only formed 1 year ago and with a 'multiple club' business model. Feeling sceptical until I know a lot more about this.

Hope it works for Walsall. They were only stagnating under Pomlett. Maybe a little scepticism until see how it works out as usually if it sounds too good to be true it’s because it tends to be the case. Bringing the ground back under club ownership is a huge start though, was the first thing ours did on taking over Vale and can’t overstate the importance of it. Good luck.

Yank owners coming out of the woodwork all over the place. That's Wrexham, Crawley and now Walsall all taken over by wealthy/ambitious American owners.

Not sure I'm a fan, I can't stand their sports and their fans, it's bad enough we have to put up with their crap games taking part over here, hope the Americanisation stays away from football.

Not that it has a great relevance to us down here, but they had a pop star belting out her tunes before the Champions League final this year, it's already here!

The article I saw said they have been in talks for around a year, and the company has only existed for a year? It all sounds iffy at best.

Stockport County.
American owners always set alarm bells for me. Their sporting mentality is just different to ours. They're openly businesses and franchises as opposed to clubs. They tend to focus on making money as number 1. The smart ones realise you may have to spend to get some out but long term if they're not making the money they want, it's business plain and simple.

I actually think the lads at Wrexham are different. They are more vanity/media orientated and will just want success which in a roundabout way can sometimes be better.

ugh. It's partly why I don't bother with the game that far up! That said, Diana Ross missing her penalty kick in 1996 was amusing and still brings a smile to faces worldwide.

We are 40% owned by an "American" millionaire - but he was born in Barrow and moved over there years ago which takes away the alarm bells.

I think we'll be in that strugglers category and you can't really argue with that based off the last two seasons. It's all about gradual improvement for us so if someone offered us 16th and our season being over in March I'd gladly take it.

Interested to see how Sutton will fare too after a big effort this year. I thought Gray would be linked with quite a few jobs as well as losing some of their better players but I haven't seen anything in that regard.

I look forward to Grimsby fans turning on the big city bullshitter and the lad spending his dad’s money in 6 months if they’re not in the play off positions.

She struck it better than McKirdy though.

I think it's quite difficult to judge who's going to be in and around the automatic, play off spots. The teams that got relegated from league one the season before last all did well apart from Rochdale . The budget's in league 2 are fairly similar compared to league 1. Obviously there will be a few with much larger budgets. Wimbledon my team always had a bottom 4 budget in league 1 which is why we struggled to compete . In league 2 our budget will be around the top 10. I have no idea how we will get on next season. It will depend on what player's we bring in !!

well I know you are only fishing but technically you are wrong, if anything McKirdy struck his too well! Ross barely made a connection on hers and it dribbled pathetically wide. It still made the goal split in half mind and a penalty miss is a penalty miss however you look at it.
