Granted we weren’t great yesterday but I’ve just had a bet on Tranmere to win the league, they’re by far the best side we’ve faced this season
The last 2 occasions we won a league title World War 1 + 2 started the following years so maybe an each way bet to be on the safe side. Not worth the risk we might be a jinx to world peace.

Insanely comfortable win for us, but that was down to Harrogant being absolutely awful rather than us doing anything amazing. That gobby little hobgoblin Falkingham had a stinker which is always fun to see.

We have an absolutely lethal finisher in Danny Johnson (pity he can’t actually do anything else), but still aren’t particularly good. Lots of aimless lumping it forward and relying on Wilkinson and Brophy to create something out of nothing.

Yep they were good against us too earlier this season. They’re not too far back either, I think they’ll get in the play offs at least.

shades of Tranmere's last season at this level, though they've changed manager on this occasion, and also possibly started their climb up the table a bit earlier.

Still haven't worked out this xG stuff, even when I spend all the time looking at it on Football Manager.

If computer analysis had a major bearing on how football works Bill Gates would be Real Madrid coach.

I'm going to bite; why do you say that?

Bolton were in a hopeless situation last season, don't think even a stellar manager could have got them out of the position they were in.

His job at Tranmere is to maintain the shine on a diamond. His job at Bolton was to polish a turd.

xG is the answer to the question when someone says 'we had 29 shots in that game' and you respond by saying 'yeah but they were all pot-shots from outside the area'.

I truly believe now that we are by far the best team in this league by miles as I've no doubt that IF we had not had any injuries, suspensions, players away on international duty, had more luck and the opposition had more bad luck in some games then we WOULD definitely be top, had of won every game and not conceded any goals.

Just noticed after yesterday we've played 8 of the top 10 and should have played the remaining two if it wasn't for Covid.

We have only played 1 team from 12th to 24th (Oldham).

Perhaps we've been so bad because we've only played good teams. Spoiler, it's not that but it is still interesting

You have us Tuesday.....I think this will be tough on us a goal either way

I'm not confident of a victory.

Our team seemed shattered after 60 minutes yesterday after playing three games in a week, imagine we will make a few changes for Tuesday.

Added to that Bolton are in good form and Eoin Doyle has a quite ridiculous goal record against us.

Carlisle fans, I'm not making excuses or rubbish like that but I've just watched the highlights and I was struck that those long throws from your left hand side look like foul throws to me. Your player walks onto the field of play when taking them.

Unless the rules have changed, which is always a possibility, that should be spotted and the throw awarded the other way.

Doesn't matter about yesterday, you beat us too easily to make a fuss but eventually you'll get a lino and ref who pull you up for it.

Other fans have brought this up too, and the answer is I don't know. Presumably they're legal throws if it's been brought up by fans time and time again but never noticed by a referee (or to be fair, the opposition manager).

Only see one throw-in on the highlights though and he's clearly not gone over the line so not sure what you're referring to.

The comments you can hear from the benches in that video are pretty amusing.

I think his foot is on the line there which could be a foul throw but thats not what I meant.

I was always taught that the throw had to be completed before the player is allowed on the pitch and both feet had to be on the ground. Your player (I dont recall his name) has a way of taking it so he rear foot follows through, its a walking/running motion. Which I think it's dodgy as his rear foot leaves the ground and he encroaches onto the pitch.

Casey

Edit; I'm just a fan and I what I think doesn't count for much but it would be interesting if any of the refs out there could comment.

At the Southend home game that we were allowed to attend, I did notice that Kayode was putting his foot on to the pitch when taking a lot of his throws. It’s happened a lot but not a single official has pulled him up for it.

Southend’s manager noticed. He was very vocal in complaining to the 4th official about it but he wasn’t interested.
