Assets of £5million? Fuck you on about dHearn owns the ground as part of his pension fund, sold it to himself. Training ground, haven't a clue who owns that tbh.

Basically any potential new owner is just buying debt. No assets apart from what's left of the playing staff and any club owned vehicles (unless they are leased)

Yeah, I've just read the BBC article again and I mis-interpreted it!

"In its most recently available financial results, for the year ending 30 June 2015, Leyton Orient put their book value, the net value of the company running the football club, at -£5,512,449 - in other words, the club had debts exceeding its assets of more than £5.5m."

I am surprised that none of these rogue owners have been seriously harmed or shot by someone yet. Clubs spend so long building a rich history and tradition and so much to be proud of that fans live and breathe it. They come along and piss all over it, destroy it and everything it stands for and they don't bat an eyelid. It really makes the blood boil.

Here's hoping.

So sad to see whats going on at Leyton Orient. Proper club with a rich history and who gives a toss if they bullied a few of our lads around the pitch a few weeks ago really? More important things are at stake here. Is there any crowdfunding or anything going on to try and raise money? I'd like to donate.

The football league introduced a fit and proper owners test a few year ago after guys like george reynolds (darlington) and ken richardson (doncaster) rsn clubs into the deck. So hows it still happening

Been reading a monologue on the LOFT meeting. LOFT will have representative's in court to fight for administration by showing that the trust (who own club shares) can keep the club running as a going concern.

Fight fund now agreed to raise £250,000. Buckets will be out around the ground.

FB is not able to pay HMRC and is not expected at the court hearing.

RG has left the club tonight

Good luck Os. Last ditch effort to safe the club

Oh Becchetti can pay it, his family is wealthy enough, he just won't and we will 100% go into administration.

Also it would appear potential investors have tried to contact Becchetti about buying the club, but he is next to impossible to get hold of. The man is not answering his phone it seems. He is slowly letting the club die.

He doesn't care anymore, so we're gonna have to pick the pieces up. Hopefully in the Conference next year.

It is HMRC 's policy now to block any CVA and if HMRC hold more than 25% of the debt, then the club will be liquidated and have to start up as AFC Orient.
If this happens when Orient are outside the FL then the team will have to start in the Essex Senior League.

LB Waltham Forest have passed an emergency motion to keep a football club in the borough and have reiterated under no circumstances will permission be given for Brisbane Road to be built on (more than it is).

Thank fuck we're not from Barnet.

Surely the future of lower league clubs is to be fan owned? I can't see why anyone with no connections to club/area would want to own a L2 club unless they have an ulterior motive.

If you go into administration do you get 10 point deducted ? And would that be this season or next ?

With the way it's going you'd probably be better off having it this season.

Without doubt. Starting next season with -12 in the Conference and a team full of kids... Look at York and they haven't even had the deduction.
Not sure you'll be accepted in the Conference - see Darlington/Hereford.

Might be wrong, but I can't recall any Club starting with minus points in the Conference while we've been down here, they just demote you to the highest league that will accept you, which is usually around Step 5 (Conference is Step 1).

Pretty sure Aldershot started on -10 points for going in administration in 2013/14 and stayed up by 1 point.

Having been where Orient are right now it makes my blood boil that this can still happen, if I can offer any crumb of hope look at us as an example of what can be achieved once he is gone from your club.

Yeah, true, I meant in the same circumstances as Orient at the minute. From memory, Aldershot went into admin at the end of the season after relegation and gave the Conference guarantees that they'd be taken over before the season started. I think it was all up in the air until late July when it finally happened.

As it stands, Orient are on about going into admin this season. The Conference, I believe, don't accept sides who are already in admin on relegation. Darlington went in admin during a Conference season, were relegated and weren't allowed in the Conference North. It was the same for Hereford I think.

I believe, and don't quote me on this - it's something I recall reading somewhere - the rules were changed on acceptance and a club relegated in administration has one season to sort their shit out or else the Conference chucks them out. Might be making this up :dk:

Horrific to see such a historic and good club as Orient in this sorry mess. You were fantastic at our place back in 2012 and nobody back then could have forseen this. And to think you could be playing at an equal level or below us next season must be awful for O`s fans.

Have donated to LOFT. All the best guys. The football family stands with you.

Thank you very much.

I have looked out for your results ever since I came to Alfreton in 2012 on what was a great, but freezing night. I remember after you went 1 up, one of your lads hit the bar/post. Part of me was rooting for the upset to be honest!

Was my girlfriend's first game - not sure she was too happy on those terraces at -1 degrees!

To think Orient vs Alfreton could well be a league fixture soon is a little galling, no offense at all, but all we can do is stick by the club. That said, I'd love to visit your charming town once more.

The FA are a total shambles, they should be ashamed. Maybe they should sit a 'fit and proper' test.

I'm 100% confident it won't be, I can bet anything you like we will never be in the same league as Alfreton unless we groundshare with Bishop's Stortford

Haha. Yeah our luck was well and truly out on that day. Great to think back to what a fantastic side we had with Nathan Arnold and Josh Law with Tomlinson too. Still it was a great day all round. And for that matter what a great side you had at the time.

I agree with LOTAL. We are a club at the moment very much on a downward trajectory and barring another glorious promotion to the National League in the future I very much doubt it too. A more accurate thing to say would be to play at the same level - i.e Conference North,Conference South.

Couldn't agree more with your last sentence. They are corrupt and rotten to the absolute core.
