We've been given a 1000 tickets so the Stacey West it is.
I'm looking forward to it already. Are the pubs around the cathedral as good as before or are there ones to not bother with this time?
The Victoria and The Strugglers under the castle walls are excellent, 4 or 5 others up there are decent too.
You'll be in the blocks nearest to the stand the only runs around a third of the side its on.

Yeah all still good and busy up here. Magna Carta (in Castle Square) and Prince of Wales have had refurbs recently. Only ones that are currently closed are Widow Cullens Well and Taphouse. Still have a choice of Duke William, Tower Hotel, Castle Hotel, Strugglers, Victoria, Prince of Wales, Lion and Snake, Beerheadz, White Hart, Magna Carta, Wig and Mitre, and then plenty more as you head down the hill.

If Bond keeps setting up his team the way he has the first 2 matches then you've got another guarenteed 3 points next week.

Great start Lincoln. I'm a bit pissed off that our games are both night games. I was up for the game at Lincoln.. It's a nightmare trip from Pompey on a Saturday never mind a midweek.

Hi Kim, really looking forward to Saturday, any idea how many you've sold?
Just wondering as we've opened up 3 blocks of the stand shared with the away fans for home fans.

Not sure to be honest, we seemed to have an initial allocation of 400 which at one point was claimed to be sold out online but I can't believe we'll have anything more than 500 coming.

I'm looking forward to the away day, but come in hope more than expectation for the football.

And so it begins...

Hope you have enjoyed your two and a little bit seasons of being better than us. With Scunny now worse than us again, natural order is being restored.

I'm quite surprised if the Cowleys do end up moving to my current town of residence, as currently reported. A difficult task with the high benchmark of recent Premiership football to be measured against.

Plus their kids are at school in Lincoln and they would never leave Lincoln mid-season and they will only leave to go to West Ham or England.

Although they did reject job offers/advances from Notts County, Hartlepool, Grimsby (all three very early on), WBA, Norwich, Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield (three times!), Northampton, Southend, Gillingham, Bradford, Luton etc etc.

Bit giddy, you've only been good for 7 games this season. ;)

Never rejected us tbh. Always been talk of it as this is where they're from obviously but DC did an interview with our local paper before our game the other week and said it's never been the case.

They've not even been good for 7 games, unless you're includjng the Cup. Won 3, drawn 2 lost 2. Mediocre at best.

A bit sad that "massive" Grimsby can only find happiness in the thought of little Lincoln (not their real rivals) going back down.

Grimsby and Mansfield fans have finally got the day they have been dreaming for!
Bit surprised it's Huddersfield but c'est la vie. We're an attractive proposition for the new man, just gotta be patient. Best get that season card shredded and take down my Cowley shrine.

We definitely didn't offer them the job, nor make any kind of official approach to speak to them, FYI. Cowley was on a long list of candidates that ME was looking at/wanted to speak too, but that's as far as it went.

Albion also never offered them the job. I believe they were interviewed, as were Bilic, Jokanovic (who was offered the job, but they failed to agree wage demands), Labadia and Hughton.

I doubt they had the chance to turn down Norwich as well.

Yeah that list of clubs who made “offers” for the Cowleys seems suspect at best. See us listed there and there was some frankly stupid media talk from highly suspect sources like twitter, about us perhaps going for them but never in anyway serious. As soon as Graeme Jones name came up it was always his.

Having said that they’ve not quite left st first opportunity like Nathan Jones. But hey haven’t straight up rejected all those clubs either

He's never once been linked to the Pools job never mind offered it/rejected it despite it being available once sometimes twice a season since about 2010, talking shite.

Lincoln fans have always over stated what jobs Cowley has had on the table, they just cannot comprehend a club would pick someone else so assume he’s had a huge offer on the table the entire time but decided to stick with Lincoln

Mixed reaction from Lincoln though, some rightly grateful and wishing him the best others wondering why Huddersfield, which is a good club with recent PL exposure so I don’t understand that.

I get being annoyed at him changing minds like, but it happens.

Good move for them and gets them closer to the West Ham gig. If the apparent wage of £1.5million wage is true - that's life changing and who can turn that down? If we've pocketed £1million compo then fair doos. The timing is shit but c'est la vie. The 'grieving' is going to be annoying in the media/social media. Saturday is going to be interesting but got a good squad and it'll be a good job for someone. And before anyone else gets in, yes, Paul Jewell is available.

I'm not going down the old 'ITK' route, but that list is accurate (and in any event, I'm sure Conker and GodsGift would back me up on how I'm not a bullshitter anyway).

I'm not saying they were offered every job, but every one of those Clubs have made a call / inquired / held 'unofficial' discussions / been interviewed about/with them at some point and Cowley was told about every one of those. It's always been their decision. That was the level of trust between them and the Chairman, which is why they were allowed complete control of the playing side from top to bottom as well.

Hartlepool made a phone call after they sacked Hignett or Jones, can't remember which, for example, in 2017.

Of course, most couldn't afford the compensation package anyway - £1m for the both of them since their first cont.

Life goes on. A downturn in form and expectations, and I might be able to get parked and not need 20 minutes to get out of the ground. Every cloud.
