Lincoln vs Notts

Absolutely dreading this. Lambs to the slaughter. We are embarrassingly poor you should on paper sweep our pitiful defence of players who can no longer be arsed carry out the job they are paid for and did effectively last season without breaking too much sweat. Conceded 4 at home to Yeovil 3 at Newport Cambridge and Middlesbrough.

The level of apathy is such that nowhere near 1000 tickets have been sold should rumours be correct. A bad defeat could firmly put a nail in Nolans coffin! If the midfield consists of Vaughen and Husin god help us. Might check the team before deciding to leave the pub! We are in a relegation battle with the dross which has been signed.

Put out a sensible, rational team from the bloody good squad that Nolan has at his disposal and we are more than capable of competing here. Go into another game without a single defensive midfielder and we will be overrun, again. Pretty simple.

Bottom of the league and when you see our defending on highlights we don't even deserve to be there. Our midfield has zero physical presence. Will be lumping on a big Lincoln win.

Our midfield has been pretty absent in most of our games so I'm a bit nervous about this game, can see County being up for this. Cowley needs to work out his best 11 and play them consistently and Bostwick needs to be in midfield. Can see O'Connor scoring against another old club here.

Something from this game will end a really difficult month with a great haul of points. Performances haven't been great but we've picked up points. I'd like to see Wharton back with Bozzy in midfield. Hopefully Eardley is ok to play but he was struggling with 20 mins to go. Pett was fantastic and deserves a run in the side.

Well Lincoln have the three points now to be honest unless we bring in a new CM who will do the nasty stuff and drop Vaughn. I can't see Nolan changing from 442. That experiment went ridiculously badly last time it was tried.

I don't know why we have tried to transition from direct to shitty taka. Don't change a winning formula....

We feel in a really weird situation where we've picked up 10 from 12, without a run of performances to necessarily merit that return. We do appear to be very clinical, though, in comparison to the last couple of seasons where it felt as though we weren't (or didn't create the chances to be clinical).

We're chopping and changing, which isn't helping. 4 different formations in 5 games, personnel changes in there as well and it's making things disjointed. We also don't have that physicality in midfield of last season with Woodyard and Bostwick, who's playing CB (better in CM IMO).

Hopefully Wharton is back. Habergham won't be seen for another couple of months at best, Eardley went off late on last night albeit it looks like cramp and Vickers won't be available either.

Providing they're all fit, I'd like to see: Smith, Eardley, Shackell, Wharton, Toffolo, Bostwick, Pett, O'Connor, Andrade, Green, Akinde

I think we'll slip up here. We're not playing great and we'll get caught out sooner or later. County can't continue to be as bad as they have been so far either.

Lincoln won last night via a dubious penalty and a goalkeeping mistake, the sort of luck you get at the top.

Wasn’t overly impressed but we still lost which says a lot.

Notts should be ok in this game.

I would say we need to get rid of the back 4 as neither right or left backs are doing anything at the moment. We need another solid centre back in there instead.

But we don’t have wing backs so we can’t play 5 in midfield. We also can’t play 4 with 1 in front as that would leave a huge gap through the middle when we go forward.

If Nolan doesn’t get at least a ball winning tough centre midfield in who can play slightly deeper to help Vaughan we will lose this convincingly. Funnily enough Noble was that player.

We have potential to score a hatful going forward but I think Nolan is fighting with out attackers to hold them back more to do some tackling.

We have to drop Vaughan for this game unless we bring someone in along side him

Liam Noble is a lot of things, but a defensive ball winning midfielder really is not one of them.

We need Tootle to be back fit so Hewitt can move back into midfield more than anything else.

I’m nervous about this game. As has been said, we can’t keep playing like this and pick up points. Likewise Notts can’t keep losing.

Think this could be finally be the one we get caught out on. Going for a 2-1 loss, I mean Akinde will score a pen at some point, right?

Nolan seems to be a slow learner. We can't do 442 no midfield strength.
Hewit t is not a right back, Hussin and Vaughan is patheti in the middle, Thomas is lightweight, good in a good team, waste of time when backs are to the wall.

Not ideal, but Hemmings doesn't want to play back to goal and likes to come in from the left, Hewitt and Vaughan did give us a clean sheet against a decent Colchester, everyone says Kellet likes to play in the hole, so may as well try him there.
More of the same will get more of the same results, Nolan is on borrowed time, time to show some tactical flexibility.

If Notts play 4-4-2 we might do alright. We have struggled against teams who play 3/5 in midfield, but 4 could be ok.

Too many seem to think a trip to Sincil Bank is Fenerbache away the likelihood of a defeat and the complete lack of faith in the team will bring a following of around 1000. Nowhere near a sell out.

Never heard that before, we have always taken a decent following, if we don’t this year it will just be because of our shocking start and expectation of a heavy defeat.
