Ahhhh I wondered why you were posting on this match thread fishy, and then I remembered you post on every Lincoln match thread!

In the present circumstances if any bantz, comes my way I can only resort to talking about the clubs history. A successful tactic that really lets me down in this division yet it’s all I have with us being winless and bottom of the EFL.

Just making notes of the Imps who think they won’t win this game, in preparation for the inevitable post game analysis

I’m not particularly optimistic about this one, for some reason the defence’s confidence is just zilch. Our best hope probably lies in trying to get a couple of goals’ start as we at least have some talented attacking players (we scored 3 at Boro in the cup and 2 each at Cambridge and Newport, taking a one-goal lead every time), but whenever there is any pressure on the defence at the moment it just cracks. We are awful at defending set plays too.

We sent you 1708 and I think you have until noon tomorrow to sell them, was hoping you'd bring at least 1500 but your poor start is bound to people off going but you're bound to round around sometime and probably Saturday as we've not been great but somehow keep nicking points.
Our midfield frailty and the squad rotation really haven't helped us gel at all.

For some reason games with you guys very rarely have any trouble, plenty of banter but no trouble hence a 3pm with you guys and 1pm with Grimsby and Mansfield.

I think we'll slip up here. We're not playing great and we'll get caught out sooner or later. County can't continue to be as bad as they have been so far either.

We're a pretty jovial, reasonable bunch generally. Which is obviously no reflection on the other two...

Scored a classic Freck goal on Tuesday to win us the game on Tuesday, knocked the ball into Andrade followed his pass into Andrade and when the ball broke loose rounded the defender to score.
Thought did well in the Swindon game but by all accounts struggled at your place, which is odd cos he likes scoring against you lot being a Lincoln lad
Always likely to pop with a goal with a late run into the area.

I think he's been alright, I just worry about having both him and O'Connor in midfield as we're likely to get overrun. Plus Pett deserves to start on form, and Bostwick needs to be in midfield. So that leaves either O'Connor or Frecks on the bench...

I only really brought it up because of GG's lineup omission but the explanation makes perfect sense going off what I saw.

Yeah we haven't really got balance right yet but somehow we're unbeaten.
Think Bostwick needs to be in midfield in front of the defence as a shield which is best position imho. Hopefully Wharton will be back on Saturday as he's our best centre back.
Two from Pett, Frecklington and O'Connor in front of Bostwick. Upfront I really don't know who start with from Akinde, Green, McCartan, Anderson and Andrade.
Eardley could be out as was struggled on Tuesday but it was hoped it was cramp.

I think Lincoln are doing what we did last season, playing relatively poorly but getting results at the moment.

Nolan has commented today that he’d be shocked if he gets the sack at this stage. So would I. Had it been Trew he’d have probably gone on Tuesday.
Like to think he’ll turn this around and we’ll be looking at August as a transition when we’re in the top 3 come January.

Note: I haven’t drank anything alcoholic or taken anything other than antihistamines today!

I think if he figures out how to get the best out of the team, going on a late run like Accy isn’t beyond us. We just need to wise up fast. Said it on Tuesday but sacking or going after Nolan isn’t the answer. Some of last years big players are drastically letting him down right now

Agreed that it is far too early to sack a manager. If they could off playing well for one last game that would be great.

I think that the three we’ve conceded from corners (inc Middlesbrough) are all ones that he should be coming for and claiming relatively comfortably. Punching at the very least - all headed from within or the edge of the six yard box and all were pretty floaty balls in. I think that refusal to leave his line is causing chaos every time the ball comes into the box, particularly as we aren’t a very tall side this year.

Oh and anyone seriously suggesting that we sack Nolan has lost all sense of perspective. To be fair, it seems to be about ten people, so it’s pretty weird that Bbc Ngm felt the need to ask him about it.

It's actually baffling how our defence can be as porous as it is. Looking at the betting Lincoln with a 2 goal handicap is seriously tempting odds if I see Husin Vaughen on the team sheet coupled with Brisley and Duffy I'm lumping on!
