First post on here from me.
Not good times for us. Great goal from Frecklington, but I thought we responded really well. Got the equaliser, and Hemmings was a gnats arse away from making it 2-1.

Then Fitzsimons dropped his customary clanger, and after that we were never in it, stroll in the park for the Imps. They could have got 5 or 6 if they’d fancied it.

Nolan needs to go, we need a new keeper, a new CH, and someone who can actually run and tackle and has a bit of presence in midfield. What is going on behind the scenes fuck only knows. It has the potential for another major tits up scenario.

Hurts me to say but Lincoln look cast iron certainties to go up. A really big club must be calling for the Cowleys fairly imminently though.

Ok gentlemen we are shit so far this season but let’s not and never forget that you have been non league and multiple times! As of yet we’ve never experienced that #stain on our proud clubs history.Never forget your history, you’ve been officially shitter than we’ve ever been in our 150 years + history and that is likely to never change
Don't think any of us will ever forget the "stains". Those of us that were there to witness them anyway.
Personally, never understood the pre-season expectations of Notts being a lot of people's tip for the title, but also couldn't see where you currently sit as a possibility. There is a long way to go, but based on today I'd be a just a little concerned about the outcome of the 156th year!

Play off semi finalists last season who then spend money on a universally approved set of players, it’s not tough to be optimistic of challenging at the top. Just look at the league table prediction thread, says it all

Hindsight , wonderful thing

I don't doubt that. I just thought, the 2 Florist lads aside, you weren't that impressive last season. No doubting many thought we were a one-dimensional team of kick and rush merchants. It's all about personal views, that's part of being a football supporter.
To clarify, my thoughts aren't hindsight. My predictions made 17/7 on the Imps Vitals site. I'm sure I'll be way off with many, but Notts are clearly currently underperforming, not as much in my mind as in others'.
I hope you turn it around. Having spent 4 happy years at Trent uni and a lot of drunken nights in the city, I do have some small amount of love for both Notts sides.

Why would a really big club want the Cowleys? They will only get foundout higher up the pyramid due to their lack of footballing flexibility, have little knowledge of the game and footballing pedigree down to being ex school teachers, behave stupidly on the touch line with outrageous antics and methodology, show no levels of loyalty when other clubs come in because they crazily have a sense of faith about taking clubs forward as far as they can go. Danny Cowley also has a big nose so why would anyone want to employ him?

Not doubt Plumbob we over achieved last season under Nolan (he’s certainly more than rebalancing that achievement so far this season lol) but although a clearly limited squad, helped by two loans (hardly unusual at this level) each for half a season only in reality and the fact we were very much one dimensional. Teams for a huge chunk of the season just couldn’t beat that obvious Plan A including Lincoln twice. Our home record was superb and we did enough away from home to secure a play off spot which lets be honest looked very likely for most of the season.

Its all very early days still, although everyone associated with the club would of seen midtable now as a disappointing start so the actual one is verging on disastrous/ unthinkable. This is perfectly illustrated when you view a larger sample of L2 opinions on the league table prediction thread. I’d guess we averaged a predicted 3rd on there?!

Lose the next game and ........ all that hard work, good work for previous 1.5 seasons may come to an end. Unthinkable just a month ago . That’s Football

P.S. starting any opinion based sentence with “based on today” is in my opinion one of the worst phrases you can type.

Must also add that it is really poetic justice for Nolan to see just how crap County were, watching them playing longball and having zero fight for the contest after stating before that 'he wouldn't pay good money to watch us'.

Hope you enjoy the dole Nolan.

I think he’ll get by , shouldn’t have to worry too much :£

Maybe. Point being, you are bottom of the table 5 games in. A single viewing of your team yesterday would suggest that to be about right, and not down to misfortune in the previous 4 games. Still a small sample and a one off view of other teams, I know, but having seen Cods, Bury and Swindon, sadly Notts were comfortably the worst of the 4 sides.
As I said I hope it changes. Still early days, but NL for a big club like Notts County is unthinkable.

Exactly, based on 5 games not 1 game is far better. So many fans make definitive views of teams and individual players based on 1 maybe 2 games max. Laughable

Bigger clubs than us have been in NL#stain not that I’m concerned about that

So Hardy let's Nolan spend a small fortune on players then sacks him a month into the season, bonkers!
Will he spend another small fortune poaching a manager from another club or go for Chettle?
You guys deserve better than this granted something hasn't been since the turn of the year IMHO

No chance it will be Chettle. He needs a lot more experience before he's anywhere near ready

I think the lack of away wins under his tenure combined with the identikit 3-2 defeats at Cambridge and Newport (hardly traditionally heavy hitters in recent seasons) when leading. Both times conceding in injury time. Then chuck in 4-0 hammering by Yeovil at home, comfortable 3-1 defeat at a strong Lincoln side all following a dull 0-0 opening fixture. Then after spending circa £500k on some quality players, I can understand why the Chairman is thinking too much has gone wrong too quickly. In fact it basically couldn’t of gone worse, unacceptable for anyone and even more so for a promotion favourite

Let’s be honest it’s not uncommon especially at lower league level.

He’s spent another small fortune getting rid of him and his staff on long contracts.

Again a common occurance in football especially at Notts, our former Chairman was an expert in backing and sacking managers and backroom staff.

It all depends what the contract terms are as to how expensive it is or isn’t. Naturally , we fully expect Conks to know the T&Cs of Nolan’s contract and if not have a wild guess and claim it as almost fact.

Naturally we expect Viking to get super defensive on a internet football forum.

He's obviously had to pay them all off due to being under contract, and that will amount to a small fortune surely? Anybody disagree? Bar the Viking?

BTW I googled it, a 'small fortune' apparently amounts to £10,000/30,000. So It's probably not cost a small fortune ;)

Ah well, you'll be rate pal - I know it's hard to play a certain persona when your football club is fucking everything up but a good appointment and it could all get back on track :)

Not enjoying the Alan Hardy show personally - Don't wish it on any set of fans bar the spireites.
