Clearly not understanding the concept of ongoing discussion on a forum Dessie. Take a look, there's lots of threads with ongoing discussions where people contribute over 20 posts. I wasn't trying to wind him up anyway, but for anyone who does he's clearly shown he's there for the taking.

Just dissapointed with some of the posters here; thought this was a 'sensible' site. Thanks for the warning tosser.

Handy to filter out the trolls as we go along; should have guessed with you not displaying any allegiance. Now fuck off and die sonny.

Love Gerrard, going to miss him dearly but it was the correct time to move on. Love how the fans reacted to him, both the Liverpool fans and the classy Palace bunch who stayed. The reactions from players like Maldini, Nesta, Pirlo, Beckham, Maxi Rodriguez and the likes should tell you just how much he was respected on the pitch. (Cannavaro's doesn't count...)

I think hating players is the biggest compliment you can give them. Gerrard has had a career most players would dream of, captained his boyhood club and was MOTM in the greatest European cup final ever, he's one of the most recognized faces in world football and he's about to move to LA along with his beautiful family and a multi-million dollar contract. Enjoy your internet trolling.

Here we go again...

Not a question of hatred or trolling; Mr Gerrard was a good player and a good servant to Liverpool, but the simpering and cheesy scenes created by the media and extolled by some,as though the bloke were a god, are irritating to most outside Merseyside, and to a great deal there too.

To reiterate, his attitude at the Bridge last week sums him up; good football, but a sullen bugger who won't be replacing Messrs Lineker or Shearer in a hurry.

At least he's got his big birthday cup final to look forward to!

Trolling aside, RIP Steven Gerrard.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

Aye, but he didn't win the Premier League, so he must cry himself to sleep every night clutching a bottle of bourbon.

Anybody would think that Gerrard was the only player who got any stick from Chelsea fans, and a for us not signing him, it's not like we've needed him is it? I think Liverpool fans are delusional over that issue from going back ten years or so - doesn't enter people's heads unless broached by Liverpool fans.

Difference is Mr Liverpool fan, Gerrard is a professional being paid buckets of money every week and presumably hoping to find his way back into the game in this country as a coach or media representative, not just somebody on the terraces having a crack.

This isn't two people in a pub, so you analogy is not a good one. He should have had the balls to acknowledge the praise offered him when the final whistle went. He did not.

Within a few days, everyone will have forgotten about Gerrard too; a good player, but he joined a side who habitually won league titles, and in seventeen years with him in the team, they rarely came close to acheiving that goal.

Hope he cheers up.
He achknowledged it. Well, said it was about 2 seconds. He had a jibe at the fans which is something your own manager has had an issue with after the home game against QPR saying it was like playing in an empty stadium. It's no big deal, just a bit of banter back to your fans who can't seem to take it.

If like you said he's looking to get into the media then comments like he made would be perfect. Carragher and Neville are always critical towards clubs and their fans so your point raised there doesn't work.

You might not have needed him because him and Lampard wasn't a match made in heaven, but at the time he was one of the best midfielders in the world and won the player of the year in 2006, so he'd of undoubtedly improved your midfield, unless you thought players such as Thiago, Ramires and Mikel were better. Gerrard is a game changer and who knows, if he did sign, you might not of waited so long to win the European Cup.

He was a good professional throughout his career and I don't see any harm in having a jibe at Chelsea fans on his way out of English football, after all, he'd had many times on previous occasions to have a go but didn't.

I suggest you try get over it, or you'll be the one not being able to forget it after a few days.

His send off was a bit over the top with the build up but it's been and gone now. What he's done throughout his career warranted a good send off.

One of these players looks a bit out of place among such company. Can you spot him?

Four of them look out of place. The notion that the other three are/were as good as Maxi is daft.

I hope Steven isn't thinking about a career as a panelist, unless it's for some North American or Middle Eastern media outlet. I'd rather listen to a pneumatic drill operated by a crying baby.
