As it was for Ryan Giggs.
As it was for Ryan Giggs.
I don't support Liverpool or Chelsea, but Gerrard's comments were very true. If the oppo fans took the mick out of you for the whole game, but then gave you a standing ovation when you came off, you probably wouldn't be happy, would you? There's no need for a lot of things; biased crap from jugheads for instance. The bloke was a good player, but insulting our commendation was beyond forgiveness, and the jughead in question knows it, but refuses to see it.

And you are saying Gerrard gave biased crap. I'm actually laughing.
Just pointing out how most of the people here slating Gerrard are hypocrites, especially United and Chelsea fans.
They have a coach and a captain who are both despicable and disgrace to football, yet have no problem supporting them. By the reaction I see here about Gerrard, I would have thought you lot would chase them out of your respective clubs.
Just trying to balance things out here. I don't have to be a Liverpool fan to say Gerrard is a living Legend. Not only Liverpool football club, but all the clubs in the PL should have done some sort of tribute to him. The only other English player that comes close to putting England on the map on international level is David Beckham.
Youngsters like Shaw, Smalling, Sterling, Clyne, Ibe, Barkley, Kane, Wilshere, Stones, Ings, Austin will never reach the standard that Gerrard has at club level. Sadly, I fear for English players' future in PL.
Not Gerrard, you, you prat.
And read the entry; SOME of tbe 40 odd thousand taunted him - but that's football crowds for you - he should be big enough to take a few jibes about going over on his arse and costing his team the title. He got genuine heartfelt applause from a great many people at the end of the game, but sulked like a schoolboy.
Try reading what's posted you dork.
Chelsea fans have been taunting Gerrard for years now. Presumably because he didn't end up joining you.
You make it sound like it was only a handful who were chanting at him at Stamford Bridge which we both know it incorrect. If you want, just look at it as banter from the fans, and then Gerrard had a bit of banter to give back after 90 minutes of ridicule. Even so, it must've worked as it's got to you probably a bit too much. He took the jibes for 3 previous games this season against Chelsea, so why not give some back on his final game. It seems like you're the one who's happy to give it but then not big enough to take it back. It'd be like me slagging you off over a few beers in the pub then shaking your hand just as you leave then me expecting you to sing my praises. Get real. He didn't have to say anything about the Chelsea fans, but he was asked the question and he's hardly going to big you up is he?
I do think the build up hype was a bit too much but that's the way the media are now, and Gerrard is one of those types of players who only comes around few and far between. It's happened with other players and for Alex Ferguson, and at the time is was too much, but even I for one now think that his career warranted a good send off, as did Gerrard's.
No one can deny he's had a great career and has probably been one of the most pivotal players for any club ever in achieving success, but give it a few days or weeks and people will forget about the build up to this.
Do you hate Terry as much? What "attitude" of him do you find so hateful? My own personal opinion is simply that his recent attitude, which sucks, has coloured my view of him as a person, not his ability to play football.
.

Yep, I think Gerrard has been a top player in the PL over the years, a shame that he never brought the same "never say die" attitude to his England career though. Well done Palace for pissing on his parade, very funny.
Terry was outstanding this season and made a big contribution to Chelsea winning the title. His racist behaviour is probably immaterial to some Chelsea fans, some of whom probably view that as being a bonus.
Not 'hateful'- that's your statement, I just think he's a miserable c***t.Do you hate Terry as much? What "attitude" of him do you find so hateful?
A sweeping statement from someone who is unaware of my racial origins and those of many Chelsea fans.
A blatant and poor attempt at a wind-up.
John Terry was found not guilty of his alleged racism by the Metropolitan Police, as you will be aware. He has come in for a monumental amount of stick from fans of lesser clubs, the boos and jeers clearly audible. Glad you brought tbe subject up; I didn't see Gerrard receive anything like that level of abuse from any quarter at any time during during his career, yet he whinges like a child at people reminding him that he fell over last year.
The comparison between the character of the two is a good one; puts the whinging scouser's whining into perspective.
What has your or the racial origins of Chelsea fans have to do with the fact Terry called Anton Ferdinand the N word? If you've seen the video and are saying he didn't say that then you're in serious denial. It wasn't a sweeping statement either, I didn't say all Chelsea fans or even most did I? I said some. Not a wind up mate, just telling it like it is.
You made the 'racist' statement, not me. What the f**k has that got to do with Gerrard's unprofessional attitude to fans?
I suppose Chelsea fans are well known for their good attitude towards Gerrard, or any other group of people (hint: CL away game). You made the 'racist' statement, not me. What the f**k has that got to do with Gerrard's unprofessional attitude to fans?
I was asking you what your race and the race of Chelsea fans has to do with Terry calling Ferdinand the N word. If you don't want to answer that just say so.
I suppose Chelsea fans are well known for their good attitude towards Gerrard, or any other group of people (hint: CL away game).
Keep asking twat. You appear to have lost the thread. This was about Gerrards attitude to the public, not John Terry's spat with another player; are you a complete c**t or what?
