About to get our first win of the season, it would have been deserved too.

Stech decided to act a clown and give it all away, should have saved it easily. So frustrating. Poor defending to to be fair aswell.

We’ve had a few games where without a doubt we should have won and that’s one of them, Bolton were really poor but did show a bit of quality with the goal.

Disappointing not to see that through. We really needed the win and Bolton looked very flat and short of confidence.

Fairly entertaining second half vs Grimsby and just couldn't find that equaliser. Thought we did well after a poor first 45, but Grimsby are one of the best teams we've played and have some really good players. Not too bothered about the result as three wins in a row would be too much to ask.

lost 1-0 at Grimsby - deserved at least a point.
Grimsby were ok, but the referee was abysmal (pretty standard for a referee).
Grimsby rode there luck a lot at the end with Barrow's sub Jayden Reid hitting the post and having 2 shots deflected wide for corners.
Meh - onto AFC Wombles on Saturday....

Aye, I can't complain too much after the last couple of results. A draw would have been nice however. Another single goal loss, but this time we weren't far off getting an equaliser compared to the other 3 defeats. Just got to keep the points tally ticking over for now.

Not bad results for us tonight. Win our game in hand and we’d be in the top 3 and Newport’s loss brings them back into the equation with us playing them soon.

Just noticed our much maligned former loanee Otis Khan got the winner for Tranmere at Harrogate - good result for Tranmere that.

Performance of the season from us and fully deserved a 3-0 lead against the league leaders. Then a rather bizarre switch-off that saw Newport come within a goal of equalising and again come really close to a third goal. Our goalkeeper had hardly even had as much as a goal kick to take and then suddenly had to pick the ball out of the net twice, and it may just be that our defenders had become complacent. Takes a bit of the shine off but still a brilliant result

Back to our best tonight and a fully deserved win, but boy did we make it difficult near the end. Two really soft goals to concede.

Newport had a really good spell at beginning of the second half at 1-0, but we weathered the storm and scored 2 really good goals to go 3-0 up.

the last 10 minutes is a lesson learned not to switch off when you think the game is won.

Great result at Harrogate and we were so much better than in recent games. First half Harrogate had the possession whereas we had the chances but in the second half, bar one mistake in the 10th minute of added time from Scotty, we could have scored 3 or 4.

We were pressing with intensity, had some identity, some great passing patterns. Just goes to show that the players are there to play some great football this season and could be the start of some exciting stuff from us. Brilliant performance.

On a side note hope the lad that had a nasty fall late on in the game is alright. Led to 14 minutes of added time. Wish him a speedy recovery.

Can't argue with any of those Barra comments. 1-1 would have been fair, but we were getting desperate for a win. The game deserved a better goal than the raggy finish that won it, which albeit capped a nice move from us. Pollock, Waterfall and Rose all very good. Most of Barrow's threatening play came from out wide. Reid looked like a handful when he came on for them.

Deserved win for us, bit nervy at times but we had a fair few efforts second half and eventually Matty Stevens bundled one in.

Orient decent, Brophy especially was a big threat.

I'm not so sure, we generally do badly at Southend.

We're uber shite though.

I feel for you mate, it must be horrendous and soul destroying. I thought our last 3 years were bad enough to endure. Good luck after tonight mate

Thanks. Got two of the top three in November next.. :sur:

Is this your best 11 or are you missing players?

I am hopeful we will get slightly better when our injured players return. If this is your strongest team then I would be very worried.

Frustrating to lose that to two set pieces, but like we have done on quite a few occasions in the last 12 months, in the end we ultimately lost to the better side. Forest Green created the better chances throughout and edged the game and should've been ahead alot sooner in the second half.

Thought Ross was too slow making subs, we looked leggy in midfield in the last 20mins and never got a foot hold in that second half. We stayed in the game though and had our moments, James Brophy causing problems throughout, I thought we should've had a penalty in the second half when Conor Wilkinson was taken down in the box.

Forest Green - a good side, play a very risky game with high energy and pressing - Which could be a reason why they fell away so badly in the second half of last season, they may have ran out of steam. I can't imagine that style is easy to keep up over a whole season at this level.

May as well wipe out that game in hand given we’ll take the 3 points at yours in our next league game:bg:

See what one win does to us Tranmere fans... We get all giddy and stuff:woo:

We will see, we’ve only lost twice in 18 months at Vale Park. Different animal to the one that lost a record amount of home games in a season the last time you were at this level!

Should be a good test for us.

Don’t doubt that one bit! Should be a good game. Could be the first league game with our new manager in charge too.

Thought we just about deserved the 3 points; pretty poor game with nothing to get excited about, we gave the ball away far too often, luckily Barrow didn't/couldn't capitalize on our flippancy.

Absolutely. No excuses though, County were awful. Worst performance of season
Sounded like we were second best tonight against a good Carlisle side, at least we battled to the end I suppose.

First 43 minutes went exactly as I thought it would, the next 20 we were outstanding, and then we were pretty solid after that.

2nd in the table, 11 played 8 of which are in the top half, next 5 against 18th, 24th, 6th, 22nd and 19th, starting to get a bit optimistic....

Long as it’s a better watch than the EFL trophy game!
