After a really good start, Macclesfield seem to have tailed off somewhat in recent weeks. Whether that is due to the lack of payment or the unsettling nature of Campbell leaving, I don't know, but we need to be right on it as always to get a result. Win this and we have Stevenage at home next week, where you would hope we could get a win, and then we'd be right in the mix.
I feel like we've shown too much respect to teams when playing away from home, instead of imposing ourselves. Once we go ahead, we need to kill games off. Lapses of concentration have seen us let in late equalisers at Orient and Salford, who both should never have still been in the game at that point, and with an extra 4 points we could have been troubling the top 3.
We often, historically, seem to struggle on a tight pitch, of which Macc's is another one. We end up lumping it forward with not much plan, so let's hope we've learnt a lesson. I genuinely don't know what to expect. We could give someone a pasting with the amount of chances we create, but as seen at Grimsby, we are prone to a complete off day.
I am optimistically going for a 2-1 win.
