I'd say from what the Trust guys have said, that's unlikely, but yes you can never rule anything like that out.
As much as i disliked our clubs previous owner Peter Johnson for allowing the club to be run down culminating in our relegation out of the league he did one thing right. He held out selling the club until he found somebody who had its best interests at heart. That was the right thing to do and now we are in a very good place.
Its clear your owner doesn't care about anything but himself.

Mark Cooper is very short in the betting to be our next manager - despite just taking over at Barrow. Michael Flynn is the narrow favourite.

According to Alan Nixon we are looking at bringing Ben Chorley in as DOF (he was previously working at the club as a scout) with Flynn from Newport as the manager. Highly doubt we would be bringing in any managers that involve paying compensation so unsure as to the accuracy of this interest.

Ah, to be sure, we’re awash with cash, Bob! All that money we didn’t pay Power! Tbf, Flynn has been thinking about his future at Newport after the POs. He could just resign.

Yes, he could. But do you think he would leave a project he is currently building at his hometown club to the unknown at STFC? Perhaps if he fancies a new challenge. We'll see this week anyway. I reckon its more likely to be Tisdale.

If its a manager with a challenge on his hands -- I would'nt go for Tisdale.

Hockaday? Out of work? That’s hard to believe.

Twitter suggests we’ve made an official approach to Newport for Flynn.

If Swindon are hoping to get out of League 2 at the first attempt then there is only one out of work manager who can absolutely guarantee it, did a cracking job at getting us out of League 2.

Flynn wants a promotion on his CV, not a basket-case relegation via a points deduction.

No points deduction. New owner, new budget, no thieving.

A fantastic opportunity to fashion a club from the ground up.

He loves the southwest, loves working for mentallist owners, gives fantastically parochial interviews. I'd say this is a match made in heaven for Swindon.

Mentalist owner has gone

That now confirmed then? Fingers crossed for Swindon on that anyway. Seemed to have very Norman Smurthwaite tendencies did Power. Hopefully the EFL will prevent him owning a club again.

Amen to that. Think the EFL are ratifying the change of ownership now. We’ve delayed the start of pre season until Thursday - supposedly to coincide with the new manager.

Oddly Cooper and Flynn are miles ahead in the bookies odds.
With regards Mark C and his time at FGR:
FGR could possibly have been promoted to League 1 but for some appalling bad fortune to his assistant coach. Scott Lindsey.
Together they were a dream combination until sadly Scott's wife died and he was forced to move back to Kent to look after his young family. Mark then had a few others assistants but they did not have the magic he had with Scottie.
Scottie is known by Swindon supporters having spent time coaching at club.
Of late Mark seems to be building up some decent rapport with assistant coach Richard Dryden, who he took with him from FGR to Barrow.
If Mark does return to manage Swindon, for the sake of their fans he needs to bring Richard D as his assistant.
They are a good duo.

He’s not for me. If it is between the 2, it’s Flynn every time.

The Cooper to Swindon thing was just some bollocks from a dodgy Twitter account though, wasn't it? Can't see Swindon paying up his three-year contract, nor can I see him leaving without playing a game.

No idea why either. And yes it would be odd and I certainly don't think it will happen.

Why were the new Swindon owners so set against McGreal? Will be interesting to see who does end up there.

I don't believe they were. Apparently the new owner was happy to give the management team a chance. Reading between the lines we reckon that he was sold something by Lee Power and was probably happy to work with Paul Jewell and Co but then when it was clear Power had no choice but to sell I think McGreal decided to call it a day. I'm not entirely sure why he wouldn't wait until the takeover was done, perhaps he didn't think he could wait to recruit new players etc.

I'm sure the truth will come out in the wash, the new owner has committed to being open and honest and working with the Trust. To be honest the communication couldn't have been worse. The fans have heard as much from Ann Frank over the last few years as the powers that be at STFC.

McGreal could've stayed, but the mutual agreement will mean that he was probably paid a fair chunk of his future wages. Can sit on his backside for a season now and the money's in the bank.

Brian Barry-Murphy leaves Rochdale. The statement on the club website is a little cryptic, saying he asked to be released. Financial constraints making his job harder, another offer, any clues Dale fans?
