Sweeney all but confirmed in his pre match interview that a new manager would be watching from the stands tomorrow and the players should show what they've got, I suppose keep your eyes on the stands and see who turns up.

I heard it was Nelson but it's possible he's been asked about an assistant's role.

Woodgate would be a logical appointment seeing that we love ex Borer managing the club.

But he's a bit of a doyle and doesn't know the level.
Most successful managers seem very intelligent, he just sounds thick.

Well if we've interviewed people and he was the best candidate then fair enough .

Spells at Donny and Peterborough as assistant and now 1st team coach at Celtic.

Someone with more experience would be better but I suppose he's played at this level and I liked him as a player at Pools.

Tisdale saved our season last year, disappointed we didn't offer him the managerial job in the summer.

He’s got a pretty respectable record if you take out his time at Rovers. Could have done far worse than that.

Tisdale is a great appointment. That’s Stevenage staying up with ease.

Another nail smashed into our relegation coffin.

You can't just get rid of somebody and then replace him with an experienced EFL manager within a couple of weeks. What madness is this!
I,m sure somewhere in the EFL rules its not allowed.

It is madness, Should be doing due diligence like what we are, lol

More calls for Yems to be sacked at Crawley.

His record over the last couple of months is horrendous but he got us to our second highest league two position last season and there was talk of sneaking into the play offs at the end of September. Bad luck in the form of injuries and suspensions have hurt him (and us) badly but lots of managers have joined the dole queue because of bad luck.

As in all these things it depends on if the club can afford to, or wish to, back the manager in the next transfer window.

I am not one shouting for his head but he needs to end the injury problems and get his best players on the pitch and performing.

Sounds a lot like what Mansfield fans have been complaining about their team in this forum in the past few months.

Yems comes across as a massive bellend but realistically how far can Crawley go without being bankrolled?

How far can we go? Realistically, league 1.

That's not the problem, it's a town of people from other places. Everyone seems to come from somewhere else and owes their football allegiance to another club (I stand with a Sunderland and a West Ham fan).

The only way to improve the players we attract is to improve our finances. The only way to improve our finances is to get people through the gate (sponsors will follow). The only way to get people through the gates is to play attractive football, add in some excitement and a cup run every now and then. Just now we are serving up turgid boring hit and hope stuff which was summed up by the game v Mansfield where we didn't have a shot (at all) in the first half and only two until the 80th minute. Our crowds are dropping and that includes long term fans not bothering anymore which will lead to sponsors pulling out.

Don't know the answer. I'm not sure there is one but going out with a whimper ain't it.

Latest reports suggest that Gavin Strachan has knocked us back. And the hits just keep on coming...

Alan Nixon on Twitter reckons Gavin Strachan has turned us down and staying at Celtic?

All in for Wild/Woodgate then?

Edit: Beat me to it!

It's gotta be Pete Wild but no suggestion he's applied. I'd be delighted if we got him, not that it will happen.

We can't give this job away can we?

Nelson has been interviewed...
