Obviously you know more about him than me but from the outside, the recruitment at Salford hasn't been very good.

No hopefully he recommends better players for you than what he recommended for us when he was our Chief Scout as some like Conor Grant,Ladapo etc were good signings and some signings were bad forgot to add.

Think this is the right place to put this.

Our ex manager Gabrielle Cioffi (the one before Yems) has just become interim head coach at Udinese in Seria A. His first game in charge is against AC Milan!

That's a leap. Away at the New Lawn to away at the San Siro!

Mullins gone from Colchester then. Probably always going to be on the cards given how their season has gone. Not really a lot of time for a new man to come in and make the changes they probably need to get clear of danger.

Mullins' record is abysmal and he comes across as the most dull, uninspiring bloke whenever you hear him talk. He had to go.

Wayne Brown has come back in as caretaker, but his Maldon side this year have really struggled compared to usual so not particularly enthused by that either.

Would you want say McGreal back if he'd want it of course? He seemed to be building something with yourselves, certainly in comparison to what's followed.

I'd gladly have him back, but it won't happen. We should have appointed Tisdale in the summer after he'd helped to keep us up last season.

We are the only team in the bottom six not to sack their manager then.

Just when you thought things couldn't get worse for Oldham

Of course it may be seen as unfair to judge the man on one failed stint at us, (see also Garner & Bristol Rovers) but the guy is stuck in the past and has appalling man management skills that I can't see working anymore - he has admitted the same in a podcast with other dour ex-northern footballers.

Edit - it seems links to external websites is a bit broken at the moment - it's basically an article from the Oldham Times about John Sheridan offering to work as manager for Oldham for gratis.

Oldham making all the right moves here... Curle, then Sheridan... next Pressley, it's only a matter of time before you're top of the table in January getting plaudits for your style of football only to fail to make the playoffs and then get into another relegation battle.

Bonus points if you manage to sell Hallam Hope to Swindon in that period.

He wouldn’t get out of the CG alive. I can’t even imagine the level of hatred he’d face.

The public face of destroying a football club.

Sheridan is an Olham legend, we all know his style doesnt suit todays delicate types but he loves this club and the fans love him.
Offers to come in for free, gives the fans a lift, brings back some boycotters too.
If we are going down then at least we would go down fighting with shez.
I think only us and Sheff weds see him as a legend so I do understand the words of other fans.

And looking at his history is completely understandable. Sublime footballer and was a decent manager for a time that was able to serve a purpose. As you say his style is unlikely to work on the modern footballer, but as you also say given how highly he is thought of at Boundary Park, why not give it a go? Even better if he is working for nothing, could galvanise your squad to go that 'extra mile' for him.

That doesn't change the fact he was a absolute weapon for us. Horses for courses and all that.

Fully undestand your feelings towards shez.
As you seem to do ours. Respect and good luck for second half of sesson.

Would his reputation not suffer from associating himself with the crooks in charge?

Can’t be any bigger crooks than Power. He was happy enough taking orders from that fat fuck.

Not at all - quite the opposite really. It’s a free hit, he can do no wrong. We’re going down as it is so the worst that happens is he comes in, works for free and we go down anyway. Will at least give us some short term optimism and a boost. Would be a no brainer for Lemsagam to accept his offer… so of course he won’t

He associates himself with the club and fans not the two wasters playing football manager............. shame they dont replicate his desire to see this the club doing better.

How many times has Wayne Brown ended as Colchester caretaker now? Him and Martin Allen back to Barnet must be neck and neck!
