Weird one with one game left of the season.

Genuinely feel sorry for the bloke as he seems a nice guy, but honestly football has been horrid to watch recently.

Must have someone lined up?

I agree, it wasn't working, performance levels have just plummeted and the football was shit.

Aye I get the reasoning behind it, and probably want someone in to have a full pre season etc.

Just seems weird timing with a game left.

Yeah I don't get it, you could've easily just let him manage this dead rubber game and do the deed after, maybe they didn't want to sack him on the back of a win if we did beat Colchester?

I'm conflicted, I feel for the bloke cos he's a decent fella, but I genuinely don't think he has what it takes to be a manager and this is the right call.

Whoever is next, HAS to be an experienced manager, simply cannot be another rookie learning the ropes.

Yes I hope they already have someone lined up, to decide on the retained list/new signings and a full pre season etc.

Because if they take the piss to announce someone now then it is just really oddly timed.

Weren’t Hartlepool linked with the Bromley manager last time? Maybe with their season now done he’s on the market again.

Trying to nip in and get Phil Brown before we offer him a 3-year deal.

As always the rumours are circulating, the most common name I’m hearing is Pete Wild from Halifax.

Tony Mowbray leaving Blackburn for a better work/life balance with family in Saltburn.

Sounds too good to be true doesn't it!

Mark Cooper is available - if you appoint him before the weekend he'll get another of his touchline ban out of the way.....

I thought this would happen. Singh is a c*** and has largely hung him out to dry.

That said he probably wasn't going to make it. Nice bloke but I agree he's not a manager. Get Nelse away as well please.

Wouldn't surprise me if the vibe was that the players aren't signing as they didn't want to work under Lee. Or even Singh.

Hearing rumours it's Mowbray but sounds far fetched to me. Got to he Wild from Halifax. Mike Williamsom also a good shout perhaps.

Shame to see our former captain lose his job, but the Hartlepool we played under him were appalling compared to early season it didn’t reflect well on him.

Yeah we have completely nosedived. I like to see people get time but it was fairly obvious how the games were playing out that he'd not got any command on things.

Still a bigger job here mind. We should've gone for him before when DC left.

Wouldn't mind Wild but can't see it being him, with them entrenched in the playoffs and potentially in there till June and our season ending in 2 days we need someone in sharpish to build a squad.

Apparently Wild was offered the job before Lee,but wanted to commute from home,Oldham I think & that put kybosh on it.
I feel for Lee,but it’s the right decision. The football is awful, his signings have been poor,he’s wasted our best attacking threats in Sterry & Ferguson with his 4-3-3 formation& he always looks distracted in interviews.
For me the players don’t want to play for him, even the warm ups seem so unprofessional now.
If it is Mowbray & Mark Venus,Raj will have to pay big bucks to get them.
Is he prepared to do that.

Mind, did all right for Cheltenham with Duff and then us. Worst thing we can say about RE is he proved to be a bit naïve after getting us fifteen points clear, which is not a bad flaw as they go.
